We checked our Lidl a few days ago and then came here, and other than being much more attractive and having organic fruit/veg options, I would not recommend this Intermarche as it was crowded, expensive with mediocre quality food. The takeout chicken was dry and a 10 minute wait. Much better to find a Churrasqueria for a takeout.
I *would* recommend the small Intermarche by the main beach street which has surprisingly good options for a small market with reasonable prices, or the Lidl which doesn't suffer reduced quality despite much more reasonable prices. I normally shop at Whole Foods in the States, so am not necessarily a bargain shopper; it's just that this Intermarche left me underwhelmed and disgruntled at the prices and lack of service.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 23, 2016
Plenty of variety. Fresh fruit. Inexpensive too. Lots of good prices for their grocery items. They also have roast chicken ready to eat for only €4.59.
I bought some plus and apples and cost me only €0.79. They were fresh and sweet.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shirley L.Markham, Canada36810412481Oct 21, 2019
I was staying at a hotel nearby and I came to get some snacks. I had a great time shopping here. The store was clean, spacious, and organized. I bought some pastries and snacks. This is a huge store and I found everything I wanted to buy!

Great grocery store with plenty of parking. You can see it from N125, but have to drive around on Av. Dom Sebastian and then R. Frei Miguel Contreiras to get to the parking. They have both big metal carts to push or little plastic baskets to pull behind you, depending on how much stuff you need to buy. Bakery is in the back-right corner, and the baked goods are excellent. Also in the back-right is a Portuguese rotisserie chicken counter for take-out, which is great! Make sure you get a number though, just getting in line won't help you, you have to have a number from the little red deli counter ticker. Great variety of food, both Portuguese and international, but the fruit selection was a little spotty. They also have a couple aisles of beach stuff and random office/household items.
Note: If you didn't bring a reusable bag, tell the cashier how many bags you need for your stuff, each one is €.07 but they are super sturdy.
Overall a great place to pick up supplies if you are in town and don't want to eat out every night, or if you find you need sunscreen or other sundries.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Steve B.London, United Kingdom15176496Aug 5, 2013First to Review
So we are back again in 2014 and Intermarche Super is still the pick of the supermarkets in Lagos (there is also an express version near the marina in town) I normally grab a coffee and pastry in their cafe post shopping. Good deli and bakery but best to avoid dairy products as there are expensive!
Closest of the large supermarkets to our villa at vilabranca apartments 15 minutes stroll door to door. The information desk will order you a taxi back if your bags are too heavy. Decent selection of local and international products plus household items - good range of beach kit and much much cheaper than the beach stores. The fish counter is the highlight but the takeaway section is also great - spatchcock piri piri chicken our favourite. Beer is ridiculously cheap.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marie G.Randwick, Australia601811192Jun 26, 2015
This place is a grocery store wonderland. It is absolutely huge and has everything you need! These include drinks, food, camping gear, cosmetics, blow up matresses, cafe, gardening items. You cab get lost in there. Prices are cheap. They have electronic tickets which I thought was cool to display the price. Additionally, compared to Australia, the workers at the tils are allowed to sit down making their job a lot easier. Shelves were fully stocked they didn't seem to be out of stock for many items

A great grocery store for all your needs. They have a small cafe inside with cheap food and drinks that are good.

Best place for all of our shopping. The fresh fish was amazing. Fruits and vegetables always fresh. The bakery also amazing!
