I stopped in recently with a friend when Zombie Taco was literally so full, I had to sit on the floor to sip my drink. So, I wasn't really in the mood for pizza. But I also knew at least we could get some food, at a table, here.
We were seated immediately, and our server showed up in no time. He provided great service, as well. My friend and I opted to share a large salad and an order of cheese sticks. And it was far more than enough food and I was glad to go home with some leftovers! The cheese sticks were delicious and perfectly garlic-y. The salad was fine...a decent house salad. I have had their pizza before and recall it being good, we just weren't in the mood for it on this night.
We were also there the day after Valentines which...*shrug*...I don't really care. But they came around and had roses for all the women in the joint and y'all...it was a little thing but it sure as hell made me smile!
This venue is large and would be great for big groups, company gatherings, pre- or post-show or -game food and drinks.
It is worth your consideration when you are looking for somewhere to eat downtown.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Oct 19, 2019
My first day exploring downtown Louisville just waking around the city. I found my carb loading spot for my Ironman. On my first visit learned that if there concert or event going at KFC center. Go early to beat the crowd. Thankfully just me. I lucked out found spot near the bar so had no wait.
My first visit ended up getting "The Meats Pizza". It has there homemade meatballs, sausage and sure miss one but truly meat lovers dream. I asked my server best pizza recommend. I was happy he did because it was delicious. He hyped up the meatballs. One of the best meatballs ever had in life. The dough is kind of between thin and thick crust. I liked it.
My second visit night before my race went back for more carb loading. This time went with spaghetti and meatballs. It pretty straight forward matching fancy. Simplicity at it best! Pasta cooked to perfect al Debye, tomato sauce tastes fresh and great flavor, and the meatballs just kicked it up another level. The breadsticks would not mention. They were good. I never seen one that it was sitting on plate of melted butter. Crazy. Tasty.
The service was five stars both visits. The interior nothing really special or stands out. The prices are reasonable and portion size get bang for ur buck. It definitely spot would recommend!!!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Feb 23, 2020
We stopped in for a quick bite and drinks before the basketball game on Wednesday. This location is just a short walk from the KFC Yum Center. On our arrival there were plenty of tables and bar seating... we decided to sit at the bar. Closer to game time the place did fill up and there was a wait for tables. The bartender, Anthony, quickly got us menus and our drinks. We decided to order cheese bread and some jumbo buffalo wings. Impellizzeri's uses the perfect amount of cheese on their cheese bread and it is our favorite! Our crispy fried bone in wings came out hot with the perfect amount of buffalo sauce and ranch for dipping. Anthony was great at getting us quick refills and anything we needed.
Thank you Anthony and the entire Impellizzeri's staff for a great dinner! See you again soon.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sydney B.Louisville, KY402310507Jul 19, 2020
I can see why Impellizeri's is a popular spot. A friend and I had time to waste before seeing a show down at Actor's. Luckily the restaurant is not far from the theater so we went with it.
We were seated immediately and out server was top notch. He made sure the cups were full and checked on us frequently. I ordered the Caesar salad and the cheese bread. I heard the cheese bread is a very popular menu item so I had to see what the hype was about. The portion is huge where I confused it for a cheese pizza. It was spot on so I see why people love it so much. The prices were fair for what you get.
The only reason why This is not a 5 star review was it took awhile to get our food. We basically had to rush ourselves once we got our order to make sure we were not late for our event.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Tony C.Annapolis, MD366354656Mar 1, 2020
I really enjoyed the pizza here.
We got take out from here on a Friday night. We ordered at the bar which was pretty busy but the bartender was very attentive and took our order very quickly.
The crust on our pie was cooked perfectly. Crispy but not hard and still a little soft. We ordered the Veggie which was loaded with fresh vegetables like peppers(bell and roasted red) mushrooms, olives, spinach and probably a few more veggies that I'm leaving out. The mozzarella used for the pie was very good quality as well. Overall a great pizza.
Honestly I'd give these guys a try if you're in the area. I will definitely return to try some other menus items as well as different kinds of pizzaHelpful 10Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Jenilee C.Wauwatosa, WI168227163Feb 28, 2020
Upon the recommendation of our walking tour guide, we stopped into Impellizeri's for a late lunch. It's a large space, with a bar along the left side and some sofas straight back. We were initially confused on whether to seat ourselves but the bartender came over and seated us in a booth along the wall - just our speed. Our waiter came over and was the definition of southern hospitality. He hooked us up with some sweet tea and a makeshift cherry pepsi, which was delightful.
We ordered the cheese garlic bread to start us off and it was so so good. It's flatter than typical garlic bread, almost like a flat bread but incredible flavors. We then got two different pizzas to try so we wouldn't feel like we're missing out on either. Leftovers are always a good idea, right?!
We tried the deluxe pizza from the original specialties menu. The crust is a bit thicker on that one. I think whatever the seasoning/mix of toppings, just makes this pizza ideal! We also did the sweet and spicy pepperoni from the thin crust menu and that was also a unique take and very good! We really enjoyed our Impellizeri's experience and the leftovers heated up perfectly in the pizza oven at home.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Kaleigh E.Louisville, KY31310555Mar 13, 2021
We picked up a pizza from here and it was perfect. We requested half without meat and they delivered! We also tried their pretzels. Definitely will be back to try other pizzas

Today we had lunch at the downtown location as a group of 8. We came in around lunchtime and got in within an hour!
Service was quick, and our server acknowledged our time restrictions we had for lunch! She continuously checked on us for refills and boxes etc.
Our table order various menu items; from wings, sandwiches, pizzas to mushrooms. Every item we ordered came out hot, and to order!
If you're looking for a quick bite, or a great place to grab drinks before a concert or game, this is the place to go! They have affordable lunch deals and a variety of beers on tap to choose from!
10/10 recommend for any local or out of town visitor!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jun 21, 2016
Needed a late night dinner while out and about listening to live music at Stevie Ray's which doesn't serve food. Headed down the street to find this pizza joint and a spot where we could face the street in open air to people watch.
Ahhh... This place is divine! It's huge inside -- the length of a city block and has an enclosed porch with tables and bar top facing the street. We chose the bar top. We ordered a deluxe pizza (equivalent to a "supreme" -- with sausage, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, pepperoni). I have to tell you I'm super picky about my pizzas and this one is just right -- lots and lots of cheese and toppings without the grease factor, plus some spices thrown in. I'm in love and ate one more piece than I should have but it was sooooo good.
The downside? The price is way up there. A 12 inch was 22.99. Yikes. Did we balk and go elsewhere? No. Did we regret paying it? No because it was just that good. Would I do it very often? Um, no.
Oh, and the people watching opportunity on a late Saturday night? Grand.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Jun 8, 2018
Good but not memorable. And unfortunately service was the same and very slow. It was a huge building so I hope that on busy days they can pick up the pace because when we came in on a Thursday night there were only a few other tables occupied and it took over 45 minutes to get one pizza and some wings.
Another thing that really turned me off was how their AC is set up, I get we're in the south but the AC is not installed in the walls instead it's exposed and leaking the whole time. So if you're sitting where the AC is running along you can be hit by water, which is not a fun experience.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
