What a wonderful opening day at Huxley & Hiro!
I don't know how they did it, but this actually smells like a bookstore. It has a really wonderful mix of titles. I kind of got lost here for I don't know how long.
Soon as we came in, the comely proprietress came over to say hi with a smile. We had a great chat about our favorite authors. Yeah, we're book nerds.
She clearly loves books and the people who read them. I didn't recognize her, but I can tell she really cares about this neighborhood.

Huxley and Hiro is such a charming addition to Wilmington. The owners are kind and pour so much care into the space. It is thoughtfully curated, easy-to-navigate, and has great art and gifts for sale, too. I really like the idea of their rewards program -- a certain % back that expires if you don't return within 60 or 90 days (I forget which). I want them to succeed!

I had a chance to stop by on my recent visit to Wilmington and I had a great experience. Huxley and Hiro had a great vibe but what really stood out for me was that the the staff are knowledgeable and obviously passionate about books. They are more than willing to assist with recommendations or help you locate that elusive book you've been searching for. Their enthusiasm is contagious and really made shopping there a fun experience. I'll definitely swing by again the next time I'm in the area!
