I'm not sure how anyone could
give HORTUS less than a perfect score. We a 3 generation mani/pedi for mt daughter's wedding. We found HORTŪS online after googling best nail salons near the Standard Hotel and it didn't disappoint; it was welcoming and warm. it was clean and modern without being sterile looking. We were immediately greeted by a friendly, happy receptionist the nail technicians were lovely, thorough, and efficient. The owner was awesome, attentive, and great to talk to. We will definitely recommend and go back. Well worth every nickel!

My favorite NYC Nail Salon for the past 5 years.
The manicure quality is one of the best in the city which is hard to find. They use natural products which again is important. My manicure always last a very long time.

I wanted to love this place! Overall the atmosphere, customer service and quality of products is top notch. However, I have to deduct stars for the actual nail paint job.

I personally don't love salons that use a gel remover solution & use that multiple times on top of raw nails. I left with my nails feeling fraile and I may have to reinforce them. I have had better nail jobs done with more confident nail techs. May only go back for a simple pedicure, only.

I have been going to HORTUS for over a year now! They were the first salon I visited since moving to NYC, and I never thought to try a different salon ever. From the beginning, I was cared for. In every session, I feel calm as if I were going to the spa. All services I do put me at complete ease. The ambience is just as important as the service, in my opinion. HORTUS delivers an experience, not just a result.

Calming environment to get your nails done. A stark contrast from your typical rushed and loud nail salons.

The polish work and cuticle work are impeccable. I come here knowing I will leave with flawless looking cuticles. I haven't been to another salon that pays this much detail to cuticles but it really makes a difference.

Love the use of oils to soften the cuticles and the Earthy smelling lotion used for hand massages.

They also offer sugaring services, though I have not tried those.

Outstanding salon with friendly service. All natural products and very kind energy. A relaxing oasis from the city. Will always get my nails done here.

I've been to Hortus Nailworks twice and have really enjoyed it both times!

What initially attracted me to the salon was how cute and clean it looked in the pictures. It definitely lived up to all expectations. The salon itself is warm and cozy. It's small, with 4 manicure and 4 pedicure stations, which makes it feel more calm and intimate. There are plants throughout the store, which brings extra zen.

I had a Signature Pedicure and the New Yorker manicure, which were both really comforting and detail oriented.

The owner of the salon is really friendly and chatty, and the service overall is really great. When I (sadly) damaged one of the nails on my pedicure the first time I went, my pedicurist immediately offered to fix it and did so in 5 minutes. I love that they want to make sure you leave with flawless nails!

In terms of cleanliness, they always used brand new sealed or washed tools, and as soon as my pedicure was completed, they sprayed down the entire tub with disinfectant and whisked away the metal tools to wash them.

I went in today for the first time! I have been looking for a great manicure place for over 6 months. I was greeted by Katrina who manages appts. She was so accommodating and pleasant. There gel color book is so organized - I often get overwhelmed but start to finish this place is a step above the rest. It is very zen in there...the environment supports its organic and healthy branding platform.
I was quickly tended to as the manicurist began to remove my old gel softly with NO DRILL and no HARSH movements to my nails. She took her time and really cared about the health of my nails!
This is hands down the BEST manicure I have had in years! It is pricey BUT you get what you pay for.
I will definitely be back!

I wanted to update my review as I learned that there was a miscommunication with the technician that I had added a 10 minute massage to my service that day. I am very grateful their team went out of their way to refund me and apologize for the inconvenience. As I said previously, it's a really pretty space so would definitely return especially after this.

AMAZING experience! Great attention to detail and the most chill, enjoyable mani/pedi I've ever received. The whole appointment was the perfect oasis for my "treat yo self" Friday afternoon. So happy I found Hortūs!
