If you were to ask me if there are too many Chinese buffets in Palm Bay and Melbourne area, I would easily say "yes." Despite that, all the Chinese buffets within the area seem to be strategically placed to optimize their target crowd of patrons. Hong Kong Super Buffet had the advantage of being the Chinese buffet located in one of the busiest areas of Melbourne: right in front of Melbourne Square Mall. Unfortunately, the food has gone so downhill that its cheap price does not even justify eating here.

For a more specific detail of its location, it is on US-192 right in front of Melbourne Square Mall. If it helps, it is a couple of businesses east of Barnes & Noble. Upon entering, you'll be treated to the stereotypical decor seen in Chinese buffets. There are rows of food becoming both warm and stale under heat lamps, one dedicated to traditional New York style Chinese food, one to soups and appetizers, one to fish and seafood, one to friend American foods, one to salads and healthier options, than of course the sushi section.

As mentioned earlier, the food as gone downhill in general. Me saying it is getting warm and stale under the heat lamps is not an over-exaggeration. I ate fish there that was really dry despite it sitting in its own juices for awhile. I am guessing the rotation is not kept in order.

It is a shame to give this place such a low rating because I remember when Hong Kong super Buffet was amazing. To be frank, every Chinese buffet I ate at was amazing when they first started. After awhile, it is like they no longer care. With that in mind, only go here if you are on a budget. However, if you don't mind driving down to Palm Bay, go to Young's Chinese Buffet. They at least do a decent job still.

This buffet is going downhill very quickly. I first came here in 2009 and I love the food because it was savory and delicious. Now all the food tastes at least a few days old. The waitress looked at me like I was stupid because I ordered root beer. So I asked for soda water and lemon and not only did she forget the lemon but she charged us for the soda water!

It was $8.99 a person, plus $2 a drink (including the soda water which is ridiculous because it's just plain water with bubbles straight out of the machine), plus tip which is a few bucks that she doesn't deserved because she was rude, didn't do what we asked and only came by to see if we finished eating. So when you add up those cost for two people it's close to $30 in for that amount of money I could go anywhere else I get a better meal that was not leftover food with an actual waitress the actually checks on the table without her big a$$ attitude.

Then they charge you $14.99 for bullsh*t crab legs when there was only two legs floating around the tray which is outrageous to me, considering the fact that the quality of their food overall was terrible, and most buffets don't even charge extra for crab legs.

And don't get me started on the donuts. The donuts were so dry it was drier than the Sahara desert. They used to have delicious donuts that were tender but these are so dry that I needed a glass of water to wash them down.

The only decent thing about this restaurant is the hibachi and the hibachi tasted like the beef was sitting out for days but if you really want to do hibachi I recommend the eggs because at least then you can't screw up an egg.

And by the time I got to the donuts I felt really ill and had to leave because I thought I was going to have diarrhea in the restaurant. So I am never going back here ever again and I'm very angry because now I'm not get my full meal and I feel sick as a dog.

You can see the hibachi imitation crab is that diamond/triangle shaped piece closest to the edge of the plate.

I have not eaten here for a few weeks. Usually I can find several items on the buffet that I like. I arrived at 12:30 pm - height of lunch - hoping that the items on the buffet would be fairly warm and that the bins would be halfway full. No. Frankly it was bad. I like to get little bits of stuff that I like and try some things I do not usually get. Well EVERYTHING was barely warm or, indeed, not warm at all. Food was tasteless or tasted leftover from yesterday or several other days. Some bins were empty and were not refilled while I was there. Even the little dessert cakes were stale like they keep putting them out over and over again.
I will not be returning anymore, they have lost my business.

I will never go there again. In the past, we have gone there for dinner and it's been OK .... Nothing special, but OK. You knew what items to stay away from, and if you didn't mind your waitress hovering over you while you were counting your money, it was a quick cheap fix.

Tonight we got there and half the buffet items were empty - the other half were cold, dried out and stuck to their trays or burned. In the past there were items that ran low, or that had been out for a while, but never like this. The only thing that was warm was the "Sushi".
We did two laps around the buffet until we realized that there was no possible way that we were going to have a good meal. We put our plates down and left.

Came in with high expectations but Young's Buffet was not very handy. Food was not new or hot. Most of them were either not fresh or old.

Sadly I chose to eat at the Hong King Super Buffet tonight. I finally felt ok after my last chemo session and wanted to eat. This was very disappointing. Last time I was her was many years ago. I think I remember why.

They advertise "buffet and sushi bar" on their sign. That is a pretty big exaggeration. There were a few small offerings of sushi in the corner and they were pretty tasteless. Even my daughter who would live on sushi didn't eat it. They would not make any more while we were there, so it pretty much disappeared.

The main buffet had a lot of food, and it was bland. The bourbon chicken was chicken. No sauce that I could taste. On a good note it was soft and had a good texture. The egg rolls and spring rolls tasted like we were eating rubber balls. The peanut chicken was equally tasteless as was the chicken and broccoli. I had to spit out the dumpling. I cannot even describe that.

On a good note, the noodles were fine and the mushrooms were actually quite good.

I didn't notice the sign that said dinner with snow crab costs more until I had served myself. That is just mean. HOWEVER, this was actually the surprise of the night. They can cook some CRAB! It wasn't too salty, it was firm but cooked enough. Pretty good....Going back for more.

Save yourself from this experience and go to the sushi buffet down the street.
