Their technical repair department is clueless and inexperienced. I called to have my 8 year old boiler serviced after losing power, which they installed. Tony C came for a service call that lasted 10 min. He explained that my pipes were frozen and made no suggestions for repair. He told me to "let them thaw" and charged me $130 to do nothing. Please keep in mind that only half of my heating system was working and getting the other half working would prevent damage in my home. Thankfully I contacted Levine and Sons in Southfield. Levine came out the next day, thawed the pipes, fixed the broken pipes that resulted freezing and provided outstanding service through the balance of the repair. I would suggest you not use Hinsons Heating and Air, they simply don't care.

It can only mean trouble when you have to have the furnace looked at before you can move into the house you just bought. Especially when it's 10 degrees outside. I was expecting the worst when I called the phone number on the tag on my "new" furnace, but thanks to Hinson's it didn't turn out to be that bad.
They made an appointment for me right away. Give me a 3 hour block of time, but call you 30 minutes before they were going to arrive so I didn't end up taking off any unnecessary time from work. On the phone they quoted me $90 which I thought was a little steep and I ended up paying $138. I got a new filter and a cleaning for the humidifier for an additional charge. The original $90 included the furnace cleaning and some wiring . But the bonus was that the technician also re-wired the termostat that my husband had incorrectly installed.
I was also impressed that the technician put on booties to protect my floor in spite of the fact that, thanks to a kitchen remodel in progress, my floor was probably dirtier than his shoes.

A bit late, but came same day as my call for a furnace abruptly not working.
Pleasant, professional service, but what really impressed me was the fact that Sal replaced a fuse to fix my problem (total bill $67), when he could have easily told me to replace the blower instead, at $600-700 just for the part.

Poor customer service and no loyalty to long-time customers. We have been a customer of Hinson's for over 15 years and have them on a monthly auto pay for our club membership. We have had our credit card compromised several times over the past few years, which has caused an occasional lapse in payment. When I called the company yesterday to arrange for a service call they told me we owed them $99, and that they would only reinstate our account if we paid the full membership of over $700 upfront. They told me we had a bad payment history. How is that possible when we are on autopay? The only reason why there was ever a lapse was due to cancellation of the card due to the compromise and Hinson's was always paid. Go else where. Very difficult.
