We came to Hill Ridge Farms for the second year in a row for their drive thru light show. It's absolutely beautiful. My old discrepancy would be the wait this year, we got there right at open and we waited over an hour to drive thru and several people didn't have their lights off. Also the "snow" machines were all clogged, which is my daughter's favorite part.

Had a good time, was too short of a ride to see all the Christmas lights. My grandchildren enjoyed them selves seeing the Christmas lights.

Came for the Festival of Lights. The lights were awesome, especially for my 5 year old granddaughter. She loved the long tunnel of lights and the "snow" til she realized it was soap bubbles. The lights were 5 star, even with a $20 per car price tag.
What was a huge bummer was the long wait sitting for an hour just to pay, then another 30 minute wait to begin the drive through. Poorly organized in my opinion. But for the 5 yo, it was worth it as she oohed and ahhhed all the way through.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Oct 27, 2021
Had an amazing time at Hill Ridge Farms with our 1 year old nephew and our adult family! $15 admission gets you access to a lot - hay ride, pumpkin of your choice, entry to all the slides, access to the "learning" stations (farm equipment on display), and our family's favorite - the animal pens. There were several goats, chickens, sheep and geese in the animal pens. You can buy a handful of food for them for a quarter and feed it through a shute. This is a really cute place with tons to do for the whole family - kids will love it. You can also purchase fair type food at multiple snackbars throughout. I was really impressed with all you could do here and hope this will become a fall tradition for us!

Hill Ridge Farms did a great job with their Festival of Lights this year! For this 2020 season, they're open nightly from 5:30pm - 10pm from Nov. 26 - Dec. 27. Due to COVID, the event is drive-thru only, which worked out well for us.
The cost per vehicle is $20 and unfortunately you cannot buy tickets in advance - you have to buy them there. I do hope that next year they'll offer pre-sale tickets as it might cut down the wait time significantly.
There was definitely a long wait, even though we came on a weeknight. I would not recommend coming here on a weekend if you have impatient kids. But for those willing to sit it out for 30 minutes-1 hour (on a weekday), this is a beautiful and fun outing. The actual displays take about 20 minutes to drive through.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 32493123103Aug 16, 2020
Hill Ridge Farms has sunflowers this year. Admission is $20 a car. Flowers can be picked for $5 for 6 or $10 for $12. I would have preferred admission per person as $20 was high for individuals or smaller families.
The day I visited turned out to be foggy and the fields were really wet from the rain that week so some areas were not accessible unless you wanted wet feet. It was cooler without the sun and the flowers stood out more in the photos with the foggy background.
I'd say there were 5 acres of sunflowers in various varieties. There were some flowers I hadn't seen before. They had us walk facing the backs of the sunflowers so next year I will walk the other direction as it would be prettier to walk towards the front. It was a great view as I was pulling out the exit.
I hope Hill Ridge has the sunflowers in 2021. The flowers I picked still look just like the day I picked them a week ago. The sugar water really does work.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 387023361Aug 18, 2020
We've been coming to Hill Ridge since our children were very little, almost 15 years now!
Lovely farm, lovely views, friendly people and just a great time.
Stopped in this morning to take advantage of cut your own sunflowers - but 6, get 6 free! And, free dozen cut your own wildflowers!
Say no more! I love flowers and the weather was absolutely perfect for this today.
$20 entrance/parking fee. $5 for dozen sunflowers and the wildflowers were free. They even water and bag them for you!
The fields are a hit wet due to the huge amount of rain we've had but don't let that deter you. The amount of butterflies that I saw made the visit worth it. If you're a nature lover, go!
Really nice way to spend time in nature. Enjoying my fresh flowers at home.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 30, 2022
Hill Ridge Farms is a favorite for many families in the surrounding area. They've grown a lot which is really nice to see as they have expanded what they have to offer. Highly recommend bringing the kids here to check it out.

I have been hearing ads for Hill Ridge Farm for years so we decided to come check it out during the fall festival. It was very crowded with field trips when we went. We paid the $14 for general admission which is pretty steep for what you get.
There is playground equipment geared for small children. There are a few goats in a double fenced in area.
The hay ride was pretty disappointing- it took us to a field where small pumpkins were lined up. We got to pick a small pumpkin and then we got back on the hay ride. That was it. Very short trip to a disappointing "pumpkin patch."
I went with slightly older children. They enjoyed the mountain slide, but everything else was pretty much to small for them.
Glad we finally got to check it out, but not worth the drive nor the admission.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Skye B.NC, NC01Mar 28, 2023
