Higgins Wood Floors

I looked around for several different installers for placing tiger wood in my master bedroom. I first went to Bensons in Londonderry who messed up the date and time of inspection for an estimate, and just seemed too disorganized. I settled on Higgins, who did not charge me anything for the estimate (unlike Bensons), and the gentleman who came out to do the estimate was knowledgeable and answered all my questions for adding sound barriers. The installation was on time and was done in a day, even though it was a large room. The installer knew what he was doing and took his time to match the patterns so the flooring looked great!

My first time using them, but so far so good! Worth every penny.

It never feels good to write a bad review. This company has hired good people to work for them in the store, estimating, and installing side of the business. Unfortunately, the owners we worked with to try and rectify some sloppy work on their own install left much to be desired. No accountability, no reassurance to make it better, no common decency. No respect for the customer. It was a relief when they put someone else on the job. Suffice it to say, I hope they treat their employees better than their customers. Stuart saved the job with his attention to detail and positive, hardworking attitude.
We're satisfied with the hardwood material we bought, and time will tell if it lasts. But based on the interaction with the owners alone, we can't recommend this company to friends and neighbors.

A year ago I looked into flooring. Their website says they're busy all the time. I called again and I'm still getting a busy signal. Is it because I'm a woman without a pleasant voice or because I'm looking for an estimate, they wouldn't have the time to give one? Told me to call again in a few months. Ya didn't take my name or number, how would you know if I'll be the same caller?

I had the Worst Experience with Higgins flooring. I dropped off a piece of hardwood flooring to have them match it . I was in the store talking extensively about wood , color pricing .. I agreed with their professional opinion and the $3000 price. For 156 sq feet . I was supposed to get a call back that Tuesday. Tuesday came and went I called them back Thursday. They told me that call me back three weeks went by. I called back again and they apologized. So I asked them to please show me the stained wood that they were supposed to do for me three weeks ago. Couple days later it was ready for me to look at at that point the $3000 went up to almost 6 grand. When I told them I was quoted $3000 They told me that their store was too expensive for me that maybe I should go somewhere else. So I'm headed to tell everybody Liston to Kira please go somewhere else because that's not a flooring company that you want to work with!

So far so good... I stopped by and the salesperson was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He made me feel very comfortable with my project and set me up for a measure and rented me a sample so I could show my husband. Looking forward to having our hardwood floors installed through them.

I had Higgens redo my floors this past week. This is the easiest company to work with. Always on time, great work, and very well priced. But the real reason I would not go any where else, is that they are just good people to work with. everyone I met was just friendly and semed to be a great person.

This is far and away the best wood floor supplier in the area- and well worth the drive from MA North Shore. The showroom is ideal for seeing the different wood species with different finishes. Higgins supplied 3" solid cherry, which we installed and finished ourselves. The wood was very consistently milled and the bundles contained mostly substantial, long pieces, making it very easy to work with. We used the Woca Oil finish, which has very low VOC. Floors came out stunning! Higgins staff is very knowledgable and very helpful when we had questions about installation or finishing protocols. Higgins was also very accommodating, allowing us time to pick up our wood in batches. In addition to the wood flooring we have also bought milled lumber for other projects- overall fantastic product and service. Would highly recommend!

Really happy with Higgin's service. Mr. Higgins did a great job coming out to the place answering questions and gave a fair price, itemized and fast. His crew of installers, sanders, and stainers were professional and put up with all of our questions and comments throughout. We made slight modifications to the job as we went and they were very helpful. Best thing, turned out better than we thought. Definitely recommended.

Higgins flooring installed beautiful site finished wood flooring in our new home. They were helpful in material selection and recommending finishes. We selected a beautiful natural hickory floor with a site applied european oil finish. As with most wood projects, there were some typical settling and intallation corrections. Higgins was responsive and quickly and completely corrected any problems. I enjoyed working with them.
