Hear No Evil

I just had two great experiences with Hear No Evil. We recently purchased a used car and wanted to replace the head-unit so we could have CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. We shopped around a couple of places in the area before coming to Hear No Evil. I have to admit, I've had a notion in my head for years that this place would be overpriced and kinda snooty. I couldn't have been more wrong. We were greeted promptly, and even after saying that we weren't looking for a high end unit or any other stereo upgrades, Andrew took the time to walk us through all the units that answered our needs and didn't push us toward features we didn't want to pay for.

After working up the initial quote, we came in at about the same price as the other places we'd checked, but that now included a considerably better head-unit that we were offered for that price elsewhere. They were upfront about the possible costs or delays that might happen once they actually opened up the dash of the car. It was all very reasonable. Once a necessary wiring harness was delivered, our car was ready in the timeframe quoted, the work looked great, no damage to our car interior, and as a bonus, they came in a couple hundred dollars under the base quote.
It's a treat anymore to find a place that is competent, honest, and actually cares about their work. We're so happy we wish we could use them for our taxes, dry-cleaning, plumbing, lawyer services, and if they had a drive through I'd get my coffee there.

Moving ahead a few days, I was looking for a pair of wired headphones for a digital piano, and remembered seeing a few pair on display in their lobby. This isn't really their specialty, but they had 3-4 models ranging from $100-$1400 dollars. Again, walked in and said I wasn't looking for the most expensive option. The guys unboxed each model, asked what I was going to be plugging them into most, found a system and music track that would give me the best approximation of my end use, and never bothered me while I took my time swapping between models. They even got out the $1400 set for me to try, not because there was any chance I was going to spend that much, but just because these guys are actually interested in these things and love letting you experience the really cool stuff out there. When the budget permits, we'll definitely be bringing in our old truck to have a CarPlay capable unit put in by these folks.

After getting quotes from other car audio installers in the area, we decided to go with Hear No Evil when upgrading the radio in our vehicle. Andrew was incredibly knowledgeable and diligent when it came to getting the wiring harness and head unit we needed, and the installer did a wonderful job. Andrew called to say the job was done early and for several hundred dollars less than originally bid. I'll be bringing it back for a dash cam, and likely bringing my old pickup in for an upgrade as well

Well, these guys are very knowledgeable. I went in seeking CarPlay for my wife's 2016 Mercedes C300. If anyone knows about Mercedes, not an easy find regarding technology compatible with these cars.

Andrew was very helpful and honest about what was available - pros and cons. In the end, the solution was just not a good fit for our application. It wasn't a price issue. It was a wife issue. The solution would not have been automatic. Meaning turn the car on and it immediately acts like a car that already has it installed.

It was really my decision not to move forward. I could only hear my wife's voice

But, I gotta hand it to them. Research, pricing, timing, honesty. I'm seriously going here anytime I need stereo.

Had the team install a Android car play unit with speakers and amp in my Miata. Damon was patient and offered great suggestions to get the most out of my upgrades. I went with an upgraded set of headlights and sound deadening In the doors as well. Ran into a software glitch in the Sony unit, long story short and without hesitation Damon had me come in for a total swap to a new unit. Took the time to explain and tune the unit to my tastes. I highly recommend this shop for your sound toys. Pricey but high quality and as I said great service.

It's been a little while but Hear No Evil were so helpful and very nice. They fixed an issue I was having with a car stereo that was installed elsewhere. I totally recommend them.

I stopped by on a Saturday for help with my Sonos system that another company installed and couldn't fix. They set an appointment within 3 days and sent Thompson out to get an idea of what was going on. He was courteous and polite and explained what he was doing. He fixed it right on the spot and it sounds great! I will use them for all of my electronic needs and highly recommend them.

I have had nothing but extremely positive experiences with the team at Hear No Evil. Every time my car stereo system has had issues with things installed by other places, they have diagnosed my system for free and recommended an excellent option as to how we can fix it. Just recently my 7 year old amp and sub quit working, and they were super friendly and knowledgeable and worked with me to get my system up and running.

I cannot recommend these people highly enough. If you care about sound systems for your car, house, or whatever these are the people for you. They are trustworthy, honest and kind people. It never feels like they are trying to make money off of me, it seems like they are only trying to give their customers the experience they deserve.

There are a few more upgrades I want to have done with my system and I cannot wait to get my ride back in their skillful hands to do what they do best.

Andrew was my point of contact through my search for an appropriate GPS head unit that works everywhere, along with a dash camera setup.

Andrew was incredibly well informed about his product. He was able to answer most of my questions right away. More importantly, the things he didn't know he told me he didn't know and promptly got the appropriate product reps on the line to get accurate answers.

Instalation was perfect. Their installers are top tier.

After the install, I had some minor issues getting everything dialed in and Andrew, again, was happy to help me. He went above and beyond. I really appreciate his attention to detail and high level of service.

Okay I've always passed by this place but have never went inside until today. It's very nice inside. I needed a part for my double din install and no one in town had it besides here. So pretty much they saved me a lot of time and gas. I was able to put it on hold and come pick it up. The staff was very friendly and knows what they're talking about. I asked about a price match which they don't do but the product ended up way lower than my price match anyways so I was very thankful. They definitely put you first. In the future I will check out Hear No Evil for any car needs when I'm in Salem. I highly recommend them. Thanks guys!
