Awesome. Great hands on science activities for kids. Bigger than I expected, and the staff are SO nice. We got to handle lots of animals, and do some art projects with a harmonograph, and explore all over. We easily spent 2 hours playing and learning. We were all impressed and excited during our visit! Kids in our group ranged from just shy of two years to nine and they all had fun with zero complaints. Can't wait to go back!

Cool little interactive science center with an amazingly-awesome collection of critters. For the size of the downtown Bemidji area, I felt this was a great little spot to spend an hour.
Little ones can touch/interact with stuff; my kids love the pipe bubble-maker. Older kids can read/ learn about things. Carl is the BEST docents I've ever come across - his friendliness and passion for teaching/sharing about the animals here makes it that much cooler of a learning experience.
Monthly "Prehistoric Paint" sessions $5/member : each month they highlight 3D-print a dino creature that you'll learn about as you paint. It's no-pressure and can be as serious or silly as you want! Hosted by Carl.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Siberian D.East Grand Forks, MN08May 25, 2020
This place is so fun to go to with young kids, teenagers, or even adults. I personally love snakes and reptiles so i loved this place tons! It's great on a rainy day and the staff is great! They take care of their animals and they clean the place up great! They are excellent with the people and i would definitely go there again. The place is astounding.

This place is CLOSED TUESDAY!!!
Learned that the hard way. Will send photo of hours into yelp and try to get them posted so others don't make this mistake.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 17, 2016Previous reviewThis place is fairly small, but packed with things to do and see. Lots of animals here to look at, many they will take out and let you touch/hold (including snakes and spiders). The echo tube is cool, their bubble exhibit works great. My kids were fascinated with the old phone booth. Make some art of the big thing next to bubble exhibit.... you need help, and don't use yellow, it doesn't show up.
Don't forget to go upstairs, that's where the bathrooms are but there are some more fun things to do and some more birds to look at. Easy to find in the center downtown, parking was easy too.
