I sat in here for over an hour and waited. And waited. And waited.
They took two other walk-ins that came in AFTER me. Then they told me I was next. So again, I waited. For another half hour. Finally I got the hint that they just didn't want to cut my hair and left.
Complete waste of my time and totally unprofessional. Thanks for letting me sit in your AC for an hour.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Andrew E.Deerfield Beach, FL03Jan 14, 2022
Observed the Headquarters barber shop after seeing their sign while passing by on10th street in Deerfield). Finished my trip and, on the way back, I decided to check out the shop.
Since I live in the neighborhood, I casually dropped in to get some info. I asked if they did walk-ins telling the barber I was considering a trim. Was told yes and that I didn't, at that time, need an appointment. I took a seat and briefly waited that early morning for my turn.
I though he did a nice job I was taken back when I went to pay and was told the trim fee was $50 (no added frills and without tip). I balked thinking he was joking, which he wasn't, but he then offered a $10 discount. As I usually only pay $20 + $5 tip for a trim every 3 week, I was a little shocked at the $50 trim fee excluding tip.
Nice shop, very friendly, and satisfactory cut. With the cost of everything these days escalating, because of inflation, I guess this will not be my only shock in the weeks ahead.
I was wrong for not asking about the fee charged for a trim before taking a seat. Definitely a friendly shop but more of a salon treatment which I think is out of my price range at this time. That being said I would consider using it again in the future if an urgent and unexpected need for a no-frills-basic trim arises.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shan A.Gainesville, FL2842Dec 22, 2018
Used to get my haircut at HQ when I was in high school. Visiting back home for the first time in years, and nothing changed. Ken still gives a great haircut, wish I could find a barber like him back in SF.
Nothing fancy here, no free beer or extra amenities, just a perfect haircut for a fair price in one of the last remaining plazas in Deerfield that feels like the old days. Whenever I'm in town, always go see KenHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Janet R.Pompano Beach, FL26732Sep 25, 2017
Ken is great! The shop is clean and welcoming for everyone. He's an artist that knows his craft and he did an excellent job for me. The shop is open 7 days a week making it VERY convenient for most people. I encourage newbies to the area, seniors who need a haircut, or anyone in the area to visit.

I sent a text to the barber to make an appointment for my son and the barber told me he had a 9:30am appointment; so HE OFFERED me a 10:30am appointment for the next day. We arrived at 10:32am and the barber pulls into the parking lot at the same time. So I assumed my son would go right into his chair. Nope! When I ask the barber if my son was first in line, initially he said "yes". Seconds later, he says "well I have 1 head in front of him." Although I didn't appreciate my appointment time not being honored, I was patient and used the time to go grab some cash so I wouldn't have to use my card. My son and I get back to the shop and patiently wait for the barber to finish with the client. When he's finished with the cut, I tell my son to get in the chair. Well to my surprise, the barber allows someone else to get in the chair. When I asked why my son wasn't next, he says "oh, this client and the previous client are one. They came together." That doesn't make any sense. By this time, I'm annoyed, so I just walked out. Common courtesy and professionalism would have been for the barber to let me know he'd be running late and that my son's cut would be closer to noon or at least be HONEST about the amount of customers he had before my son. But it's obvious courtesy and professionalism is lacking here. Either you offer appointments and HONOR them or don't offer them at all; because it makes no sense to have an appointment and still have to wait 2 hours.

I was there once few years back and they did ok but I was not much into ALL kinds of sports but the staff was ok except few of them speak a difference words that wasn't I had in mind to hear about they did at home. Later the few people I wasn't sure they was staff or customers was chating about SOAPS in tv mostly I was their few years back, The work they did was ok! I think I can do better by my self and cost much less too!

I've spent most of my life with hair. When I did cut it off, finding a reliable barber was easily my biggest fear. AND THEN HEADQUARTERS happened! They've taken such great care of me since I started going. The service even went beyond the haircut. Matt, my favorite barber there, taught me how to style my new haircut and put me onto some great hair products. I didn't expect a dude to know so much, but he clearly studies the craft.
When I go here, I get the feeling that I'm dealing professionals. Yet the place still very much possesses that "barbershop feel" we look for. I'll be coming back here until I move away. And even then, I'm stopping in on vacations.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Daniel D.Boca Raton, FL131Nov 15, 2015

I called the shop to get a haircut and I was offered and appointment so I didn't have to wait in line. However I was never told that by just making an appointment the cost of a haircut will go up to $40 plus $2 charge if you pay with card which is not fair. That charge should be on the business not the customer. On the other hand, Ken took my appointment over the phone and was the barber taking care of me. I've been a while looking for someone who really does my haircut the way I wanted and this gentleman really NAILED IT! Great service from Ken. The 5 stars rating is for him and his service not the business itself. Very satisfied with my haircut.

Been coming here for years. No issues. They pay attention to details. After my initial visit, my barber "Gavin" knows exactly how to cut with out even asking me.
