Q:
How can I make reservations for a party of 6?
A:
I suggest that you call them earlier, they don't do reservations less than 6ppl so make sure you call.

Came by and this location was closed. Their instagram page says new location will open in Sept 2022. I guess no Hatch 44 until then? * * If yes, I wish the owners of Hatch 44 had updated their Yelp listing! * *
A:
Correct! They're staying in Metuchen - 25 New Street. Supposed to be a bigger location!

Hatch 44 Cafe is hands down the best brunch spot I've never visited in NJ let alone in the past (dare I say) 5-10 years?
After hearing so much buzz about Hatch 44, I had to admit, I was a bit skeptical at first. How could a spot be so hyped, so beautiful, so well reviewed and instagrammed AND continue to maintain solid customer service as well as quality in their food? It's a tall order and honestly, I could not have been more pleasantly surprised with how lovely my experience was here from start to finish.
I came out for brunch one Saturday and since they don't take reservations unless it's for larger parties (6-8), I was able to add my name to a list and was sat within 30+ minutes which was within their estimated window.
Once sat, I was greeted by my server who was so kind, friendly, and customer-oriented and even took the time despite the place being packed to walk me through the menu, offer suggestions and recommendations, and even explained the dishes as they came out.
I ordered their deviled eggs (divine! fresh jalapeno and bacon bits? what's not to love!), their pistachio tres leche three fluff cakes soaked in pistachio creamy milk topped with mousse and edible flowers (not overly sweet and all the flavors just melded together), a coffee butter frencht toast creation that was piped to the brim with an amazing coffee creme, a side of fries and bacon and a flight of mocktails (yes you read that correctly a flight of seasonal mocktails, MORE OF THIS PLEASE) that were all delicious and light and not too sweet.
Everything about Hatch 44 is just balanced. The flavors come together and meld together in a way that isn't overpowering and everything complements each other just so. Additionally, I'm usually very adamant about not ordering sweet brunch options however, I just couldn't resist these fluff cakes and I can honestly say these take the cake. The texture, quality and flavors were outstanding, and honestly the most memorable brunch I've had... in what feels like forever. This place not only lives up to the hype, but the quality of their ingredients, portion sizes, price point, and customer service is on point and now sets the new standard for what I expect when out and about.
If you're also like me, you're always checking back to see what's new and fresh and from their menu (website) and social media (Instagram), it seems that this spot constantly has a bunch of fresh takes and revamped food and bevy items rotating through. I'm already stalking their social media pages and updated spring menu and cannot wait to go back. 20/10 for exceeding all expectations.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Mar 22, 2024
Love everything about this place. It looks so chic, centrally located, such pretty vibes inside and outside.
We were seated right away, the service was top notch. Our server was the best. But we also saw the others doing the similar job around the cafe.
The good omg! Was delicious. For steak and eggs. The steak was cooked to perfection - so tender and juicy - just how it should be for brunch. And the home cooked fries were next level. It has chimichurri sauce on it - it was heaven!
The drinks came out great as well.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Mar 18, 2024
The food was fresh, very high quality ingredients that you can tear with each and every bite. The empanadas were so delicious! Definitely not greasy and freshly made. My coffee drink was made just right, and I appreciated their seasonal offerings.
The service was quick, my server was knowledgeable and help in advising us on the menu.
The ambiance was also clean, warm, cozy and very welcoming. The restaurant had a wide variety of ages, backgrounds and it just made me feel like I was in Brooklyn or the city somewhere! I felt very comfortable.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mar 21, 20241 check-in
I wish I came here a year ago when I first heard about Hatch! Hatch was the perfect brunch. I wanted something yummy and casual and this far exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious! My favorite was the risotto! I'm not usually a fan but you can't not try this!
My only complaint would be the table size. We were a table of 6 and between the drinks and food we didn't fit at the table. We couldn't all Order flights because there wasn't enough space. But overall I'd return and can't wait to try the Bradley beach location.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 13, 2024Updated review2 check-ins
After frequenting its old location, Hatch's relocation maintains its charm and uplifting aesthetic. However, being unable to join the waitlist online led to an extended wait of over an hour and the service was inconsistent from our last visit. The French toast was amazing! Unfortunately, the regular coffee fell short, arriving lukewarm. The empanadas were good though it was a game of culinary roulette as our server did not know which one contained meat and which was vegetarian. :( The lattes were on point as always. I truly always enjoyed our previous experiences at Hatch and hope to return with a better experience next time.

The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating, and they have delicious seasonal specials. Most importantly, the cafe radiates positivity as soon as you walk in the door! A cafe that accepts good vibes only and uses locally grown ingredients. It's a must go!

I love this place. I'm a regular here. I love that they have seasonal drinks and meals. Can I be Hatch 44? For sure one of my fav places. I eat the same thing every time so no need for new pics lol. Get the steak and eggs!!

I ordered my steak medium and it was cooked to perfection! It literally melted in my mouth. The chimichanga sauce was excellent. Although, they do not offer steak knives, I was able to use my butter knife. That's how soft my steak was. Mel V provided exceptional customer service! Thank you so much! I'll be back soon . No parking lot available.
Jan 19, 2023Previous reviewI had a Cinna*bon latte which was amazing along with their SUPER FRESH Hatchamole (guac) and a side of scrambled eggs. Did I mention the Hatchamole was super fresh? This is my first time at their new location. Their new location has more tables so there was no wait today. . Very proud of this establishment and shoutout to my server Calvin who was very helpful and accommodating! I also want to mention this place is appeasing to the eye - so cute and chic.

Our server Tina made this a 5 star experience. Friendly and accommodating and helpful. The food, we both had the Fiesta Bowl, was delicious.
I consider this an upscale, trendy diner type place. Nice furnishings and well decorated.
It's a little pricey but for 2PM on a Friday, they had quite a crowd.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 22, 2019Previous reviewSeems that special orders do upset them. They got a whole lot wrong today. Too bad the Edison Automat was closed today. I ordered no potatoes with my eggs and so to deceive me they hid them under the omelette.
My friend's omelette which was supposed to contain onions mushrooms spinach and cilantro only had the mushrooms and the onions.
Questionable freshness on the rye toast.
To their credit they took 15% off. Our server Samantha was great. She's did offer to redo all the mistakes but we decided not to wait. What we ate was tasty.Feb 11, 2018Previous reviewYou walk in and it gives the appearance of one of those luncheonette/diners in a small artsy town. Quirky, pretty, with charm. I liked the feel of the place immediately.
Be forewarned like I was that the food is long time in coming out. But the service is friendly and accommodating and the coffee is delicious.
I had the Spicy Chick on a plate rather than on a hoagie. It was fresh but the spiciness in the chicken and the spicy slaw could have been kicked up a notch or two. I was able to substitute out the fries for a salad consisting of greens, grape tomatoes, and lots of mozzarella cheese. The dressing was an excellent balsamic vinaigrette.
The parking lot has a separate entrance and exit making things easier all around. - Adil K.Ypsilanti, MI012Apr 24, 2024Updated review
So I went with my family of 7 and infant on a Sunday morning. We arrived at 9am and was told a 30 mins wait, took 65mins.
Then once we were seated by the door in February. Our infant was sneezing and coughing and we requested to move over two tables to an equally sized open table, but were repeated told no first by the hostess, server, manager.
Eventually the manager was able to move us after 20 mins, but the entire wait staff was giving us the cold shoulder while there, like we are in the wrong for asking to be away from the cold door.
Food was good tho, but I unfortunately won't be coming back, service actually ruined my appetiteHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 4, 2024Previous reviewSo I went with my family of 7 and infant on a Sunday morning. We arrived at 9am and was told a 30 mins wait, took 65mins.

Small town cafe did not disappoint!! I wanted to try a new breakfast spot and found this place on Yelp. They don't take reservations, so get there early. The food was delicious! Cute decor to enjoy while you wait. The cider chai was great and is seasonal I learned after visiting the 2nd time.

Came here for breakfast on a weekday and was surprised to see an almost full house! I love the new location and decor, very girly and pink!! Great place for content, for my Instagram & TikTok girlies.
GET THE COQUITO CAFE! There's no liquor but tbh it doesn't need it! Reminiscent flavors of actual coquito with a coffee twist. It was so good. This is a winter special though so it'll be on the menu temporarily.
The birria grilled cheese was delicious! Huge portion size and the consome was delicious!! I wish it came out a little hotter. The fries pairs perfectly with this meal. Highly recommend.
Steak & eggs were solid. Tasted good and very filling. I remember this menu item from their last location. The presentation of the dish changed but the same great flavors were there!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jul 20, 2022Previous reviewIf you're a taco person like me, you won't be disappointed! These tacos surprised me honestly. Blackened shrimp tacos, this summer menu special is a must have when visiting Hatch. The elote salad on the side was also delicious! I love elote but hate how messy it is. This version of elote was easy to eat (with a fork) but still had all the great flavor.
