Harte Used Car Super Center

I bought a used car from Harte in Meriden, CT on 11/16/2018. The deciding factor for me to purchase the car was a 90 day limited warranty on the motor, drive axle, and transmission. During the test drive with salesman Michael Finelli, I brought an erratic gas gauge to his attention and was told it would be checked out - no problem. On the day I bought the car Michael said the gauge was fixed but when I asked for the CT Licensed Dealer Inspection Form required by law to be given to me, I received a form checking the inspection results by Michael who left the warranty section blank.
Since then I had the car inspected and 4 major safety issues were analyzed. I have called David Archer and George Blackwell numerous times and was told they would call . me back. I never received a call back from either.

I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General and the DMV and contacted CT NBC consumer complaints. I warn anyone to know their rights before buying a used car here- better yet not to buy there!

They are trying to sandbag me because I am a female senior citizen but I will fight their bad business practices until they fulfill the legal requirements.

We had the most incredible experience at the end of the year when we purchased our daughter a "new" used car. Ryan, our salesman and the rest of the team were all there when we brought her in to pick up the car. The white VW had been moved to the showroom and they put a big red bow on it. She was totally surprised. All the salesmen were there and took pics and even a video which was later sent to us. The car runs like a dream and we were so happy with it, we returned and purchased a second VW for us! This is a wonderful place to do business! The Best Dealership I've ever worked with, PERIOD!!! My wife and I chose to drive through the lot on a Sunday afternoon with the understanding that the dealership was closed and we'd be able to look without being hassled by salesmen. Upon arrival, we pulled in and drove around to the back of the building. I got out and started looking at some trucks, still thinking the place was closed. That's when Mr. Golden pulled up. He asked if I was looking for a new truck. After giving my response of yes, he politely asked us to come in to see what they had available, as the truck I had my eye on had been sold. Being extremely friendly and determined to get me into the truck I wanted, Larry got to work. He showed me a beautiful which was the exact truck I was looking for, but was unsatisfied with the red color. Larry, refusing to let me settle, asked us to give him a few days and he'd be able to find the exact truck I wanted. Within a few days, that's exactly what he did. Harte(Larry) found me the perfect truck. Then general manager, Paul, got me a great rate and got me into my truck the same day. I couldn't have been more happy with not only the truck, but what Larry and Paul did for me. They both went above and beyond what any other dealership has ever done for me. Problem after problem with used car i bought in september. Now exhaust is shot and it's only May!! Ughhh. They said it would cost $300 plus to fix..just cannot afford. I have a warranty but they say not covered. I still owe 5k on car..seriously. Please research what you buy from them before you buy. Now im stuck with a piece of junk that has continual probs. Man said to ne "what did you expect, you bought a used car" that was their response..nice huh

I had a wonderful experience working with Robert in sales. I can tell this from experience in working in the field. I bought my car from him and absolutely love it what a fun car buying experience. Plus he makes you laugh which is a plus. I highly recommend if your buying a car to see him and turn this car buying experience into a memorable one. Thanks Robert

A very good dealership with fantastic service! I dealt with Rafael, he was fantastic. I found their selection to be very good and if they did not have something on the lot they were willing to check there other lots and keep you in mind if something came up. On several occasions, Rafael called other lots so I could test drive a specific car. Frequently it was brought up the same or next day.
The reasons I do not give them 5 stars, there price was fair (I found no negotiating room) but not fantastic (which would probably put them out of business rapidly), the financing was just okay (they price it out so it really was not their fault).
I bought the car about 6 months ago, I've found there post sale service to be very good.
I would suggest this dealer and especially Rafael to others!

I just finished wasting my entire afternoon thanks to a very dishonest salesman named Corey whom I spoke with on the phone several times regarding a used car for my daughter. I wanted something that was in good shape not all scratched up and beat up which is what he promised me they had there they listed the car with around 80 pictures meanwhile when I get there after driving two hours to see the car the car is completely scratched up the hood was so bad that it needs an entire repainting when they seen I was just disgusted and leaving now they want to re-negotiate and lower the price of which they said they couldn't lower before ? Typical shady salesman bait and switch I would steer clear of this dealership I would not recommend them to anyone. The salesman and the sales manager are both dishonest sales people and not to be trusted. 0 Stars is my Rating. People need to be held accountable and responsible for their actions you can't just lie to people and expect to get away with it. I'm not done with these people yet.

Michael Finelli is a great salesman. Out of all 6 dealerships we went to over the weekend this was the best we've dealt with. Thanks mike!
