My mom and I walked around the park once but we stayed on the paved trail for about two hours resting how long should it have taken us we rested some? How long should it take us if we didn't rest? And if we want to go around there twice?

      A:

Halyburton Park Loop is a 1.4 mile heavily trafficked loop trail ! Fast : 11 minutes per mile. Moderate : 15 minutes per mile. Easy : 20 minutes ! So moderately should take 21 minutes walking steady , time your breaks accordingly ! God bless !

Nice park. There's paved paths or you can go off into the wooded trails and wander. It's a good combination of nature or playgrounds so is great no matter what you're looking for. The dogs love it and I love getting into the trails and away from the people!

What was once a beautiful natural nature park, is now an overly cleared out place I no longer want to go walk in. Summer is going to be MISERABLE! When I told the park guy it was over cleared, he said that's the plan - areas of cleared out park! What a shame! Like the rest of Wilmington, it's being destroyed by idiots who think they know what's best for everyone.

A long walk all around it (over 4mi,) but delightful no matter how far you go. 1st timers should print out or pick up map at tiny office. Well worth it!

I love this park I take my son here to play and it's so nice, there's always tons of families and dogs. I hope to be able to attend one of the events they have for the kids. My only issue we'll kinda is that there isn't really much for the younger kids to do, they don't have like a toddler area because we all know how kids are. It gets a bit crazy once all the kids come out to play.

This is a nice park. There is a nice shaded area with a grill to have a nice cook out. There are a couple kid playground areas. There are trails for walking but I was unable to walk them. There's also an office there where you could rent out a hall for special occasions or for a wedding. Very nice.

Great spot to kill some time fishing ! Clean park area ! I spent 2 or 3 hours fishing with some neighborhood boys and they caught 7-8 1 to 3lb bass while I was with them !

We stopped here for the kids to get some energy out before out drive home. Our trip to the beach was good, but a bit too cold and windy for them to unwind.
We stayed about 30 minutes. There is a large covered picnic area here that had a group cooking and picnicking. A paved trail goes around the playground/picnic area and the kids and adults were going round and round on bikes. Clean bathrooms here, plenty of garbage cans. there was also a visitor center which we didnt' go in. I'm sure there are additional trails here too, but we didn't go on them.
The play area was sufficient enough to entertain for our stay. Glad we stopped.

A very nice, quiet park. An outer paved trail (maybe a mile long?) brings you past fellow bikers, runners, walkers and dog walkers. Nestled within though are several crisscrossing sandy woodsy trails. Loved exploring around and seeing what I could find. They also have a playground for the kiddos.

I love this place this has to be the most beautiful little small park that you can go to if you have children they have wonderful things there for them like swings and all kinds of stuff the walk trails at Large paved trails it's a great place even just to sit and chill and get your thoughts together it's never over crowded it's got to be the best little place in town. I would recommend anyone to go here and check it out if you're into a little bit of wilderness and peace and quiet you can always find a spot here for that or you can bring your kids and have a picnic and all kinds of stuff like that it's great you should check it out. For sure!!

I love Halyburton Park. It's a nice combination of nature center, outdoor special events venue, playground, and wilderness. You can head here and take your kids to the playground, go for a hike in the woods, or let them ride their bikes along the paved trail. The people who go here are friendly, and the park staff are wonderful.

It's safe, it's right off the cross city trail, and even when it's crowded it's manageable. The paved trails have benches and interpretive signage and there's just so many trails that you can meander through. It's great for kids and let's them be explorers.
