Now I understand all the 5 stars. Trust me if I could give more I would. I have very thin hair. Then from years of coloring and what not it was extremely dry. I needed a make over. Jacki will actually listen to you, takes her time, and tells you step by step what she is doing. She's an artist. All of my friends are shocked at the difference. I have finally found my hair dresser.

JackI took a lot of time with me to help me decide what I could do for my thinning hair. I got a nice perm. that looks naturally curly not frizzy or kinky. she then met up with me free of charge to help me learn how to style it. she appears to know her stuff and is very careful not to damage my hair. She was friendly and made me feel right at home, I'll definitely go back.

Was very excited to find Jacki's website that focuses on hair for "older people" and makes it sound as if she/her salon is special in regards to how they treat their customers. I was looking forward to making an appointment for a relative who was recently in the hospital and in desperate need of a haircut. After contacting the owner, she was unable to schedule and recommended her colleague Cheryl. Explained to Cheryl how excited I was to find their salon and wanted to schedule. I turned down other location appts to make this one. The day before Cheryl asked to reschedule but we were unable to as we had existing out of town plans. She agreed to meet however, it was clear from the first time she walked in to the salon she didn't want to be there. I asked about her ideas for the hair cut and everything I asked, she had an objection to. I have never gone to a salon to have the stylist tell me they didnt know what to do, and each time I ask for her opinion she put it back on me. The site claims they are experts in short hair, so I was asking " an expert" for the opinion - but, she had an excuse for everything I asked her and pushed back on each question I asked. She knew before we got there she had no intention of keeping the appointment. It was the most unprofessional experience i ever had - if you want to be near someone who hates new clients, and is angry and resentful when you ask for their professional guidance, go here.

HI Sarah I didn't have your contact information so I wasn't able to respond one on one to you. I know you feel this is personal.. I'm sorry this was your experience. I don't want to elaborate on my personal business and I apologize this was your experience and how you felt. I will say this isn't the circumstances of other clients I have referred to my coworker and friend. I will say Cheryl's has had surgery and is recovering currently for a knee replacement.
I know having pain when working can takes away from giving our clients our energy in which we would fall short from our own expectations. Cheryl couldn't give you what she felt to be a satisfying experience when being in pain. She was doing everything she could just to make it through her day. Being artist comes from being creative. This energy we give to our fullest in hopes of making our clients happy. When being sick or in pain we can't accomplish this. I'm sure in your life's experiences you can understand reflecting on a time when it took everything you had. If
you feeling ill or injured it took everything you had... you can't believe you made it through the day. Well in a service industry you would have only have compromised your outcome. I promise you those of us who make each client in our chair feel as if they had our complete focus as if they're the only one that mattered that day. I've even had clients compassion and sympathy and they've said you should go home and take care of myself. Through death or loss through illness or injury our clients become family to us. When we have to reschedule or cancel this is difficult for us as well. Sometimes in life we just have to somehow figure it out. We don't have sick days or vacation days afforded to us. Sometimes circumstances just arise and we do the best we can. We always want our service to reflect that our clients matter thats what makes us successful. I hope this makes better sense to you and I hope in your heart that its relatable and you can overcome being angry and understand. Once in a while we have to take care of ourselves because if we don't we don't have anything to give. Thanks for taking the time to read my response...

I found Jacki on Yelp when I was looking for someone who knows how to cut curly hair (which can be a challenge).
I waited a few days to write this review because I was really upset and wanted to calm down and make sure I wasn't being rash - but it's been two days and I'm extremely unhappy with this haircut.
I told her that I specifically didn't want my top layers cut shorter - I really just wanted the bottom level blended up so my hair had some shape. That's it. I reiterated how long I had been growing my hair out and that I didn't want to take away length. (I spent over two heard growing my hair out after having to chop it all off.)
My hair is SO much shorter now - and the actual cut is NOT good. It's okay (not great) for wearing curly but I told her specifically that I needed to be able to wear it both straight and curly. I washed and
straightened it today and it looks AWFUL. Like, truly terrible. There are random long pieces of hair and the back is so thinned out that it just looks scraggly. It's not just my opinion - I asked my (very honest) friends and they all agreed.
Even more than the bad cut, I felt very frustrated when I was in the chair because every time I tried to explain what I wanted, it felt like she wouldn't let me talk - she'd start into a story about someone or something else. I tried explaining several times that my hair was a lot curlier than it looked, because I had pulled it back to work out. I also explained that I straighten my hair a LOT and it was really important that it looked good straight as well. It's like she didn't hear anything I said.
Most stylists spend the first 5-10 minutes just listening to the client about what they want. I didn't get that chance. She mentioned several times that she is very artistic and doesn't follow a specific guideline for cutting hair - I probably should have just left but I read all the reviews and thought she had magical powers.
I know that it's "just hair" and that it will grow back, but it's a service I paid for - and I'm very frustrated with what I received.
I had to go to ANOTHER salon and pay for a second haircut just to fix it.

I'm sorry you felt that way. I cut your hair dry with it natural state so it wasn't cut with tension. When wanting to blow it out to go through the cut for a final
assessment on the service you told me that you ride was already here.
Therefore not given the opportunity to finish my service I wish you would have contacted me providing me the time that you didn't the evening of the service.

Based on her website and other reviews, I thought she might be a great stylist as I'm growing out my pixie cut and dealing with curls again. I texted her twice (at the number on her website) and received no response. Is she still in business? Changed her number? Dunno because she never responded.

I'm very happy with my body wave perm by Jacki. I told her what I wanted, showed her a pic as an example, and she delivered. My hair turned out just as I had hoped. Jacki always takes her time to make sure it's done right, and it's very much appreciated!

I have been looking for someone who can cut curly hair, she is NOT IT. I based my son's appointment on her website where she sited that she was knowledgeable. Hated the haircut, truly hated it, she has ruined my son's hair for now, till it grows again, which as people who have curly hair know is going to take a long time. I really thought she understood curly hair since she kept saying that she wouldn't cut too much, but she just kept cutting, also is completely uneven and it's all over the place. I don't know if her suppose knowledge works for other people, but it did not work out for us at all. If you have curly hair I suggest you look elsewhere.

I see you felt compelled to write a review after speaking to you yesterday. When I went to the beauty supply today I saw a picture for a men's product line. I did take a picture of the model, because his hair was like your son's after I did his hair. I was going to send it to you. To explain I misunderstood what he wanted. To keep some I dont believe I can post it here. In other words communication is critical and sometimes a picture works better for others. As I stated via my text with you yesterday apologizing. Your sons hair is not cut bad.. just not what he obviously wanted. This was my text w you prior to refunding you. I try me best although I cant please everyone, I do my best to try. Again Im sorry.... Omg I'm so sorry. I asked him if he wanted to keep the length and reduce the fullness. I will refund your money. I am so sorry. I really thought I understood what he wanted. If I could suggest in the future perhaps he finds a picture to covey what he wants verse someone misunderstanding. I can apologize enough. That in no way was my intention. I wish I could change the out come. Please except my apology and tell him I know its his hair but it does truly effect me when I fall short of satisfying a customer.
