What I was told the last time I was there is that Guernsey Park is closed, but the owners are going to reopen the space as a new restaurant.

My wife and I knew that they were closing soon and starting a new concept, so we had to go, because we loved it so much.
Our waiter was great! However, the food made us sad. Everything we loved, chicken lollipops, duck, sushi, was "meh".
I wanted to say something, but didn't have the heart. We were going to get the carrot cake, but we had already spent over $100, and didn't want to be disappointed by that as well.
The class it had before, just wasn't there.
I'll miss you Guernsey, but I'm sad you left a bad taste in our mouths.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 17, 2017
Service: 5/5
We went on Valentine's Day with advance reservations and were seated very quickly. The entire restaurant was full, but you couldn't tell from a service perspective. We received service like we were or waiter's only table. Front house management knows what they are doing!
Appetizers: 5/5
We ordered the chicken lollipops and the Fried Roll as an appetizer. The Fried Roll blew my mind! Because it has smoked salmon, it tastes like bacon in sushi form. The smokiness and the crispiness is without comparison. The lollipops were consistently delicious as described in the other reviews.
Entrees: 4/5
I couldn't go without trying the Korean Ribeye. It was pretty good, but the sides didn't complement it as well as I thought they would. I would have preferred a veggie side instead of the fries, which weren't very good. The steak was cooked perfectly and the gojujang butter was delicious. For some reason, I thought that the steak was going to be more of a Korean BBQ marinade, like a sweet brown sugar, ginger, soy. It was tasty, but was a different kind of Korean flavor I wasn't expecting. Very good, but not my favorite steak entree. I also tried my boyfriend's pork chop and fried rice. The fried rice was delicious, but the pork chop was cooked well.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 4, 2016
5 Stars!
Limited parking, place almost seems too big but the place is very clean and waitress was friendly.
The food was delicious! Brussel sprouts and 48-hour beef to start and WOW -- beef was to die for. My BF and I shared the yellowtail sashimi and guernsey roll - delish! Pricey but we knew that before coming :)Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Latisha S.Los Angeles, CA4597501316Jul 6, 2017Updated review
Came back after 2 years! But I had to see if my favorite items were still worth it.
FOOD
Scallops (5 stars): still the best scallops I've ever had. Cooked perfectly.
Guernsy Park Roll (3.5 stars): Standard. Not too exciting but still good.
DESSERT
Carrot Cake (4 stars): Sadly this is no longer one of my top desserts. It was still good but they changed the dish so it's not the same. The cream cheese ice cream didn't taste like cream cheese and there are no more candied oranges :( The vanilla bean jelly is good though.
SERVICE (4 stars)
ATMOSPHERE
Cute seating with a nice patio. There was a weird smell upstairs near the stair area, they need to check that out.
PARKING
Parking lot with a good amount of spots.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Jan 18, 2015Previous reviewSo glad I came here!! Reminds me of the good food I miss in Los Angeles! If you want good food and you're a foodie come here. Especially for the carrot cake dessert, which made me up the 4 star to a 5 star.
DRINK:
Special cucumber Martini with sriracha. Really strong and good! There's a cocktail list that looks really good too.
FOOD
GP roll (4 stars): Good fish, nice citrus kick. Tastes fresh and hit the spot for my sushi craving.
Scallops (5 stars): Cooked so well!! The sauce on here is so good! If you like scallops definitely get this.
Grilled Nem Nuong (3.5 stars): Pork was flavorful and noodles were good. My friend said it needed more fish sauce.
DESSERT
Carrot Cake (5 stars): Cream cheese ice cream was amazing!! I was in heaven. Crunchy carrot shavings on top were so good. Candied orange slice was a nice touch. Everything worked so well together. I'd definitely recommend this!
The Symphony (4 stars): So many different textures perfectly paired! If you like chocolate you'll love this. I just thought the carrot cake was a little better but this was still great.
ATMOSPHERE (5 stars)
Cute and modern. Lots of open space. Bar gets busy from people waiting for their table and grabbing drinks.
SERVICE (5 stars)
Our waiter, Justin, who doubled as the bartender was so nice and on top of things. Everyone was really helpful.
I came back a second time and sat at the bar with Justin helping me again! He's really nice and welcoming. I was by myself this time but he made sure I had a good time at the bar and always kept track of my food no matter how busy he got with making drinks!
PARKING
Has a lot to park in but it gets packed. Otherwise you'll have to find street parking. - Feb 8, 2016
Guernsey Park is a nice, out of the way spot with interesting style and a creative use of what must have been a difficult first-to-second floor plan to work with. For example, the signs for directions to the bathroom downstairs are reminiscent of those in a metro terminal.
We came here for lunch. It can be easy to miss if you don't know where you're going, because it's tucked behind another property on a side street.
--Our order--
Small plates: crab dip and seared scallops
Entrees: Curried chicken and Banh Mi sandwich with pulled pork
Dessert: Carrot cake
It was all amazing. The chicken curry was slightly spicier than my wife expected (she likes very mild food), but it was certainly delicious. With the Banh Mi pulled pork sandwich, the side of ketchup was different than I expected--sweeter than usual, and I wondered if it was a house blend. It's great, regardless.
We also split a carrot cake, which is apparently the most popular dessert on the menu. It was amazing.
We'll definitely be back to try the array of sushi and sashimi offerings, and I've got my eye on the ceviche small plate and a few more desserts.
What a great spot! We really enjoyed our experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jess M.Oklahoma City, OK43135289Feb 10, 2018
Guernsey Park has been one of those places I've heard people talk up for a long time, but never made any effort to go and try. I know it's one of those restaurants that people say every Oklahoman needs go to at least once. The term "Asian Fusion" had been thrown around too but I have no idea what that means. What's the Asian being fused with? Anyway, my brother and sister took me here for my birthday, so now I can mark it off my food bucket list.
The whole setup of the restaurant is great. It's got a modern and clean look and feel. We started our meal off with Chicken Lollipops and Crab Dip. Both were delicious. The Chicken Lollipops are tempura fried chicken wings, so each bite was light and crispy and not excessively oily. It was easily my favorite thing here. The Crab Dip had chunks of real crab in it. It was simple and tasty.
I ordered the Szechuan Pepper Tuna as my entrée. One thing I can appreciate about Guernsey Park is that they've got the "Food is Art" thing down. This dish had contrasting colors and was laid out so nicely that I didn't want to disturb it from its rest. After admiring it for a few minutes, I started to mix it up. Maybe I just have deadened taste buds, but this was a pretty bland dish. The dish comes with some kind of eel sauce but after mixing up the entire dish, only about a fifth of the rice in the dish had sauce on it. So, if you're planning on getting the Szechuan Pepper Tuna, make sure you ask for extra sauce. After adding the extra sauce, the dish tasted better. A better choice, as far as entrées go, is the Okonomiyaki. It's a savory pancake with all kinds of sauces and ingredients. Jeff M. ordered this, so I tried a bite. I think it's the fastest I've ever gotten food envy.
The service is on point. Our server, who I don't remember the name of, kept checking back in on us and gave us whatever we needed.
Apparently, Guernsey Park has closed its doors for good*, so I'm glad I was able to go at least once to one of Oklahoma City's great restaurants. It was fine, but it wasn't the mind-blasting experience everyone talks about.
Also, I still don't know what was being fused here...

Don't let your inability to pronounce the name scare you away! The place was really cool, with a great ambiance, good service, and excellent food!
My only complaint is that they sat us at possibly the darkest table on the third floor, our eyes had to adjust to the lack of light. Also the servers didn't come over right away, but the manager took our drink and appetizer orders so we barely noticed, and they were very attentive otherwise!
Now it's food time, buckle up because when I like food I try to give it its due diligence. For the Brussels sprouts; I've mentioned before that these come from the table of God himself, and tonight He had them specially made. The lemon squeezed on top made their glory shine further than I have ever beheld.
For the entree we both opted for the special; baked rainbow trout with a pistachio crunchy topping and some magical combination of sweet potato, mushrooms, beets, and heavenly sauce. I rarely spend the money to get the special, but wow was it 100% worth it.
I had the beer on special, the English brown ale, which I cannot seem to remember the name of! But context clues may get you to this delightful brew!
Overall the experience was one I would gladly repeat!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Michael P.Oklahoma City, OK128448Jul 8, 2017
Guernsey has some of the best bar staff in the city and they regularly make fantastic drinks, but last night we met their sushi.
On Friday and Saturday from 9-10:30 they run an awesome happy hour. 1/2 price sushi, and not just a few rolls, all of them. We tried a lot of fantastic food last night. The samba roll was probably our favorite but the whole meal was just great. Every single roll had good complex and wonderful flavor.
We have a gem with this place. I can't recommend it highly enough.
Also the chicken lollipop and fried Brussels were crazy good... and I don't even really love Brussels.
Eat here. It's great!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 29, 2017
I've been to Gurnesey Park a couple of times before for brunch and dinner, and its always a lovely place to visit. I like dining upstairs because it makes you feel like you're in a treehouse, although the lighting is pretty dim. The chicken lollipops are my favorite appetizers here! Parking sucks since it shares a parking lot with several other businesses on 23rd street, but there's some parking across the street if you absolutely can't find parking near the restaurant.
I finally got the chance to drop in during their all you can eat sushi special on Thursday after planning it for months. For $30, it's a pretty great deal, and you can order all of the sushi off of their menu, with the exception of one (which happens to be their most expensive roll). You can order two rolls (per person) your first round, and then one roll after until you get stuffed. In addition, I think they rotate some sushi rolls each month (?); when I went yesterday, their special rolls were the crab ragoon roll, the grilled mushroom roll, and the coconut shrimp roll. The crab ragoon was good, but the grilled mushroom and coconut shrimp left a lot to be desired. I did not enjoy the grilled mushroom roll at all due to the pickled mushrooms, it tasted too sour imo, and the coconut shrimp was different, but I didn't like it.
Aside from the meh special rolls, the rest of the rolls I ordered were delicious! I especially liked the Spicy Cowboy roll, but the Red Rock Canyon was good as well. I didn't get a chance to sample all of the sushi they offered because after about my 6th roll, I couldn't even eat another bite.
Overall, the special rolls can be a hit or a miss, but the rest of the rolls on their regular menu makes up for it. They don't have an extensive sushi menu though, so most of the rolls on their regular menu are offered at other sushi restaurants. However, for $30 for AYCE quality (important) sushi, I think its worth checking out if you are craving sushi.
EDIT:
You can now order all of the rolls off of the menu!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 1, 2017
My wife made a reservation for 7pm on a Thursday for my birthday and conveniently it was also the AYCE sushi night. I've been to a lot of AYCE sushi places and this one is limited but relatively cheap. The catch is that it's only rolls. In my mind that's not the same thing. I'm more of a nigiri guy so I don't think I'll pay $30 for rolls again. It's not really worth it to me. The rolls also took a long time in between orders. The rest of the menu looked great so we kinda want to come back to check it out.

I've been to Guernsey no less than 15 times or so. Dinner twice and the rest of the times for lunch. The interior is decorated nicely, a modern feel without being too cold or minimal.
I can only think of two times that the service was subpar. The rest is usually nice, just not speedy.
The menu items can be hit or miss. Which would definitely be disappointing if you catch a miss on your first visit. Portions are on the smaller side, but I'm OK with that since I'm not trying to be rolled out the front door and try to go back to work without a nap. I'm not a huge fan of the Banh Mi Sandwich. The remoulade and slaw from the fish and chips was excellent, but the fish breading was pretty soggy. Banh Mi was just lacking in overall substance.
As far as appetizer, you have to try the chicken lollipops. Definitely their most popular and for good reason. The duck tacos, ssamjang burger, and five-spice fried chicken are probably my most ordered plates. If anything comes with Fries, make sure you get a side of the ssamjang ketchup (Korean Ketchup). So good. I've also had the ribeye at Dinner, which was really nicely done. The guernsey park sushi roll is also excellent if you aren't in the mood for something hot.
If I had a friend in town and only had the opportunity to take them to one place, Guernsey probably wouldn't be that choice. But overall, it is one of my favorite places in The City and a really solid option in my lunch rotation.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
