Visited Guardian Angels Church a few weeks ago as part of our pilgrimage to visit a new Catholic church once a month for a year. In doing research, I discovered that the church began in the 1890's so I was surprised to see a very modern looking church on the inside. Just as unexpected, was the way the pews were laid out. Some were not only on the sides, but behind the altar - almost like a theater in the round! That particular Sunday the priest was extremely young and charismatic, but it was to be his last Sunday there as he was being transferred to another parish in northern Ohio. It was impressive to read about their Youth Ministry. They meet on the first Friday of the month and have various activities in between - bonfires, camps, etc. Also, offered were Bible study groups, plus a Father's team where fathers can meet other dads for discussions of various topics. Lots of opportunities to congregate outside of mass which is always a plus. There is also a school connected to this church, too.

Very old fashioned, priests mostly but most of the congregation as well. They will put you down for nearly everything you wear, smile about, or aren't 100% reverent towards. Priest told me quite publicly that he didn't like what I was wearing and that he didn't think it appropriate for mass, even though I was only wearing shorts. This is supposed to be a place of God not a place for arrogance and power tripping. Grow up.
