Go into this place knowing that it is what it is and you'll have a great time with the kids. It's a regular hotel all dressed up as a "lodge". It's expensive and things cost extra and there's not much else included in your stay except the room and water park entry. Bring some snacks from home and some bottles of water and you'll be fine. Our 3 kids had a helluva time here and we didn't break the bank for them to enjoy themselves.
Yeah there's rude folks/kids running around here and there but that happens everywhere. We came across some nice people and other kids who ran around with ours for a bit too. We had a great time and will go back again someday I'm sure.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 86113483Mar 26, 20241 check-in
I'm not a big fan of the remodel. While waiting for my room to be available they could not hold my trolly. So I waited in the lobby for a few hours; my teenage daughter had to watch the younger one while I watched all our belongings.
Our towels got mixed up and I tried to call the front desk to replenish, from like 7:30-8:30 pm and all I kept getting was a busy signal. The next morning I had to wait on line for 15-20 mins just for them to call house cleaning for me.
There were toddlers all over the halls blindly running with their wands, unfortunately we collided several times. I had to be extra careful. My daughter is older now, I don't want to come here anymore. Next time catch me at Kalihari!Helpful 5Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 2 - Jesse S.Jenkintown, PA2530837Mar 29, 2024
I was not a fan at all. The room was generally nice enough but the experience left a lot to be desired.
Food and drinks here are ludicrously overpriced and pretty awful in general-- think frozen desserts that haven't been fully defrosted. I also had the single worst drink I've ever had in my life. I thought I was ordering a margarita but in fact it was an "Italian margarita." Have you ever thought to combine tequila, amaretto, and lime juice? No? There's a reason.
Mostly, there's just a feeling that everything doesn't work quite right. Check in took an oddly long time and there wasn't a dolly in sight. The wi-fi didn't work the entire time, which was a major issue for me, and no one really seemed to be doing anything about that or acknowledging that it was an issue. Finally, instead of just giving you information about the amenities, they use an idiotic virtual assistant that feeds you information one sentence at a time.
On the plus side, I appreciated that the staff was generally pretty relaxed about rules. Need to duck into the buffet to grab a glass of milk? No problem. Does someone in your party want to join you for dinner and bring their own food? Also no big deal.
We won't be back.
Edit: I'm knocking off one star because there were over $100 of inaccurate charges on my statement and they didn't make it easy to resolve. Check your bills carefully, folks!
Edit 2: We are now entering week two of their inability to refund me for $56 worth of breakfasts that I didn't buy.Helpful 1Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 6, 20241 check-in
Not a great visit.
Overall it was packed, like uncomfortably packed and not a great time to have gone.
Check-in: we arrived around 10am so we could hit the waterpark up a bit early. There was not one chair available anywhere by the time we made it in, which was a pain, but we eventually got a few chairs. The check-in process was straightforward and we used the kiosks, but we had to still talk with someone to get the kids pass we purchased ahead of time. We received a text when our room was ready.
Room: this is where it went downhill. We had bugs in our room and I tried to call down to the front desk, but the phone didn't work. I eventually went down to the front desk and spoke with someone who appeared to be newer and didn't know what to do when I said there were bugs in the room. He left and went behind the wall to talk (I'd assume) and came back with 'you'll need to stay out of your room for at least an hour" which wasn't a problem. We came back ~3 hours later to all the drains closed and a green cloth in our sink. The bugs were still there too. We requested a new room and they had us move literally from one side of the hotel to the other at 10 pm with 2 kids under 4 - it was a mess. The biggest issue was that there was zero empathy or hey sorry about that. Absolutely nothing.
The new room was fine and we got everything setup and enjoyed the rest of the night.
Parking: not a fan having to pay $15 for parking.
Food: the food is overpriced and lower quality. The food quality reminded me of a gas station. They have a Dunkin' and other restaurants on site too.
Park: as stated above it was packed and there were many issues of kids having accidents in the pool, so they closed them, which just created chaos in the other pools. My kids loved the pool, so that's a big win.
Day of checkout: we rented a cabana by the pool which was awesome. The guy who took care of it was amazing - Cole was his name - top notch.
Overall not my go to place, but maybe a day pass would be better.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Apr 1, 20241 check-in
I had a good time visiting great wolf lodge. It's been several years since I have been to an indoor water park. There are plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy and have fun with, including an arcade room. There are a lot of little kids running around and in the pools tho but it is a water park after all. I hung out in the grown-up section in the hot tub after i went into the pool. Check-in wasn't bad. Had to wait a bit on our room but can't do much about that. The rooms were clean. We had breakfast at the buffet, and i enjoyed it. There is a lot to choose from. Fruits, pancakes, bacon, sausages, and an assortment of breakfast foods. For dinner, we ate outside of the lodge in neighborhood areas. I would come back eventually.

It's more for the kids of course. Some of my family & members went here & stood overnight. We were celebrating my niece's birthday. One of my best friends from the Bronx came down w/ her son that is close to my nieces age.I went on water rides w/ my best friend. It was so fun. You have to make sure you have money b/c it can be pricey here. The arcade & food are costly.

Wolf lodge was such a fun experience, the entrance was super cute, and it felt like you were entering a cabin.
Everything of course is themed after the name so the decor is all about wolfs and forest animals. The carpet had cute animal prints and the hallway lamps had wolf on them for a cute touch.
They have an arcade with lots of different games, their main attraction of course is the indoor water park. The park is catered to kids so of course they have a large variety of pools and slides for them but to my surprise, they also had a lot of slides for the big kids and adults which was soooo nice because you get to join in on the fun!
inside they also little stands to buy food and drinks, but you are welcomed to bring some snacks for the kiddos.
They have towels for you as well so no need to bring your own unless desired to.
There's plenty of chairs to sit, some even with tables.
The indoor water park was warm but not hot enough in my opinion, and neither was the water which was very unfortunate because the kids would get cold after getting wet so I wish they would crank up the heat a little bit more in their atmosphere as well as their pools.
The rooms were very spacious, with a mini fridge and a safe, our had a table and a couch, the couch had cloth cushions which I didn't necessarily liked because they're not easy to clean and as we know, kids are messy, we got the room with the bunk beds which the kids absolutely loved, they looked like beds inside a sodden cabin which I thought they were pretty cool, and the decor around them just screamed camp!
The room had the thermostat that worked nicely and there was an extra blanket in case anyone needed another one.
Throughout the day, there were various activities for the kids including a dance party at night where the kids can show up with their light up toys and enjoy an evening of dancing in their PJs. One of the nights, 2 ladies were hosting and hyping the kids, very fun for them and for the adults as well. Another night they had a DJ and a giant screen playing the just dance game and that night was just alright, the DJ was just pressing buttons and not very lively.
Dinner there is pretty pricey so we opt to order outside food and do a few Walmart runs, so that's an option if you are on a budget! They do have a microwave on each floor if needed to heat something.
The place does give you complimentary wolf ears for the whole family if one is staying there for the night!! (So so cute) you just have to go to their gift shop and ask for them!
One of the mornings I had the breakfast buffet and I really liked it, they had a large variety of breakfast items, including an omelette ordered to your liking.
They had various juiced, coffee, tea and chocolate milk too!
The fruit was still a little frozen so it could have been better but it wasn't terrible.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay there, and the kids (my nieces and nephews) had a wonderful time which is the most important, there's some things I would change but it's def a fun time for all and will be coming back!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 18, 2024Updated review
GWL is like everything else this: too expensive with bad food! Lol but my kids love it, so we returned for our third trip since the renovations. Here are my thoughts.
Rooms: we stayed in the new mountain tower with bunk beds. We had to move rooms our first night because there was no heat. This was a very frustrating process and It is very hard to get anyone on phone. When maintenance man came and spent 45 minutes in the room and left, I assumed it was fixed but it never got warm. So I demanded a room change and they magically found one in their sold out hotel. When I ran into maintenance man later-he told me heating coil was shot. If I hadnt complained, they would have left us in the room. If you are in Mountain tower building: be prepared for LONG walk!!!!! I almost wish I had brought a stroller for my 5 year old. The building is a very long walk. Next time we will ask to be in the older rooms! Lol
Water Park: we enjoyed the new slides! Again the lines are killer some times and some of the slides were closed on Tuesday because of staffing which sucked. You can tell they dont have enough staff because one member would be working multiple slides and it was obvious they were overwhelmed. Lazy river is small and underwhelming but if you can get in when it is quiet, it is nice. But I refused to
Go in when it was busy because I was scared about my kids drowning because there is SO many people in it, there is nothing lazy about it! My kids loved the wave pool the most, but I was shocked they only had one life guard for this very crowded area.
Food: We did dinner buffet one night, and I was suprised. Food wasnt bad, I dont know if it was worth the high price! But it wasnt bad. The breakfast buffet we did just because we got free vouchers due to the room change and I would NOT pay the prices they were asking. I had omelette and cup of coffee, not worth $25 and my girls had a bowl of cereal. They had some fruit and oat meal out and some rolls that looked frozen. It would be cheaper to just pack some stuff for your room. We did the sit down dinner one night because buffet is closed Tuesday and wedneday night-we didnt know this. Food was good but expensive. And because there is no other option (than pizza) it was packed!! And I swear only 1-2 servers for whole place. So our poor server was running like crazy. I would have ordered another drinking but we didnt see her again.
Other activities: if you can afford the adventure pass for $49 just do it. Unlimited bowling and mini golf and a $40 card for arcade. It was great because the girls could play as much as they wanted. And of course the arcade is a trap-very expensive. I think every year we go, we spend like $200 in there. But the kids have a blast and the adults like the games too!!
Magic Quest: Always a favorite of my kids! We spent hours doing this. We complete it every year. It would be fun if they could update the story or change it up a little but the girls still had a blast. And I loved waving the wand myself!!
The shows: I am sorry but the shows are lame! They replaced them with the reno and they are really lame. I dont think the little little kids noticed but my kids sat for like two minutes and were done.
I feel like my girls may be growing out of this place and need a new adventure. Overall we had a good time. I didnt notice any mean staff that other people mentioned in reviews. Most were very helpful and nice:maybe a little understaffed but not nasty. We came home exhausted and with fun memories overallHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 28, 2022Previous reviewIf your like me: you stalk reviews before going somewhere-and even though this is not our first trip to GWL-I still looked!! And it made me nervous: so many bad reviews. So I wanted to share my experience.
Room: we got the kids cabin, worked perfect for our four and six year old. And of course it is always a little speedy-but we got a deal because we booked "two nights for 40% off", so it wasn't horrible. The room was clean, people always complain about how dirty it is. But our room was clean. Blankets on kids bed are thin!! So either bring an extra or request an extra and bunk beds are a little hard but my kids didn't complain.
Pool: pools were clean that we could see! I don't know any access garbage or filth and we went in all the pools. My kids loved the wave pool, so we lived there! Lifeguard were always vigilant. Only complaint about the water park: the lazy river is lame!!!! We went to GWL in Minnesota and SO much better-we went once on the river and the kids were done.
We did rent a cabana again but I don't like renting them! We don't sit in it other then lunch because we are following around kids. But if you have a baby to sit with or grandparents that need a place to sit, it works great. TVs in cabana are a waste. This was our third cabana rental and you can't even hear TV!! Lol my husband likes renting them but I think it's a waste.
Magi quest-this was the winner this trip. I love how the poconos has it set up -and my daughters played it for HOURS!! My husband and I got obsessed with it.
Arcade: be ready to sell your left kidney for this place. I won't lie-we probably spent $400 here in three days. My kids (and myself and husband) love a good arcade-so we would pop in here a lot to. It is small but the perfect size for my girls. And my oldest loves the VR games!
Food: this is always hit and miss. We did the buffet one night, and I actually enjoyed it. It just depends on how you eat. We are not fancy eaters! Lol so we enjoyed it-but it was expensive for a buffet so we didn't go back. We did pizza one night-it was okay. The Dunkin doughnuts was super convenient.
Birthday bash: not worth it!! A couple of simple balloons, gross cake and a pizza! Save your money and bring your own cake and balloons.
Over all: we had a GREAT time. Staff was amazing, we didn't interact with one crabby person. Sean in the arcade saved the day!!! My daughter lost her card in a machine and he took the machine apart to get the card and saved the day!!
The girls had a blast and my husband and I are exhausted!!
Construction: other then parking lot, I didn't notice it. Bowling was closed but my kids didn't even notice. The loved the mirror maze!!
Please don't complain about the cost!!! Nothing is EVER going to get cheaper in this world!! If you go to a place like this, be prepared to pay for everything!! It amazes me when people complains about cost, places like this and Disney are just going to go up in cost, never down.
Thank you!! - Delilah R.SC, SC04Apr 17, 2024
My stay at Great Wolf Lodge has been disappointing so far. Despite the supposed 'hibernation hours' from 11 PM to 7 AM, the third-floor hallways resembled a chaotic playground with what seemed to be young adults causing disturbances by running, slamming doors, and screaming.
The lack of discipline from guests above resulted in constant noise from unruly children, making it impossible to enjoy a peaceful night's rest. The lack of responsiveness from the front desk is concerning. Despite attempting to contact them multiple times by phone, there was no answer. Resorting to calling the room above mine yielded no better results, indicating a systemic issue with communication and customer service. This lack of attention to guest concerns further diminishes my recommendation for staying at this establishment.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 10, 2024
I'm here now and I don't understand the negative reviews. I did my research. I knew the issues and came out better because of it all. I have a 4 year old daughter. I read great wolf catered to the younger crowd. And it did. I read it's older and a bit dated vs kalahari. And it is...but it's pretty damn nice. I saw some reviews about bad customer service, but we were here 2 nights and I kid you not even the maintenance people had smiles on their faces wishing us a good night. Do yourself a favor. Don't come here expecting 5 star amenities. You won't get it. But to make my kid smile for 48hours? It's worth it. And clean
