Great Clips

I was getting a little shaggy,
I could use a trim and a clean up. My solution was the local Great Clips in the Albertsons shopping center. There was no waiting not to many people out when the wind is howling at 50 mph. Quick check-in, a 2 minute wait before I was greeted by my smiling friendly stylist Samantha.
My hair was out of control because of the wind. I tried to explain what cut I needed, Samantha smiled then she pulled out her spray bottle and we were in business she knew the cut I wanted. Samantha is a fun cute local girl, a BHS graduate, she knows her business. We were finished in about 10-15 minutes,
I wasn't ready to leave Samantha was fun I didn't want to go back out in the wind, she had my hair looking real good. I've always had good experiences at this location except once it was a disaster but that was a long time ago.
Todays was my best because of the fine job Samantha did. I recommend this location it's always kept clean short waits and good stylists. I especially recommend Samantha she's worth the wait

On Friday, December 29, 2023 I arrived at the Great Clips located at 13075 Rosedale Hwy
Bakersfield, CA 93314. I arrived at 6:58pm hoppy to see the open sign on; however when I went inside the employee sweeping stopped and called to someone in the back and said "aren't we closed". That employee came out front and said "we are closed". I responded and said "you are open until seven", she then said "it is seven." I showed her on my watch that the time was 6:59 and she rudely responded "That is basically seven", to which I said "no, it's 6:59." She once again said they are closed and that they had already closed their drawer. I asked if she was the manager, she responded that she was and when I asked for her name she said Tanisha.
I then asked if this location is a franchise and she said she didn't know.
I took two pictures inside to show that I was actually inside the building before seven pm. My grandson, whom I had just picked up and was in need of a haircut, and I walked out and she followed me and said I don't give you permission to take my picture. My response was, "I don't care, you are in a public place", she then proceeded to get her phone and follow me to take a picture of me.

Upon reading the multiple negative reviews on Yelp about this location, and that employee in particular, I am glad everything worked out this way.

At my job we are open until five and as long as you in the door, which is not locked until five, you are gladly served.

This "manager" clearly needs additional training in customer service.

In closing I would like to add this, which is from the Great Clips website: You can still get a haircut at closing time, you just can't check in on greatclips.com or the Great Clips app.

Got haircut exactly how I requested, beard trim, and hair wash. She did a fantastic job.

Checked in via the Great Clips app. 25 min wait... and the time on my app was dang near perfect.

For a $24 haircut they did not clean you after they cut. I was shocked the way she cut my hair against the grooves and causing me to get rashes. I will never go hear if you are looking to get a cut.

Second awful encounter in two months with the highly immature, unprofessional, rude manager, Tanisha. I'm not surprised to find so many other reviews on Yelp agreeing with me. She should definitely not be a manager, nor in the service industry. Unfortunately, my family and I are going to have to find another local salon for a quick cut. I'm hoping the owner cares enough about his business to investigate further but it seems in this day and age customer service is no longer part of business.

Not all barbers/hair stylists are created equal. Always a bit concerned that I will be helped by someone who is not very good. Most Great Clip locations have many different folks working there so the chances you will get someone else to help you is very good.

This specific Great Clips was aesthetically pleasing. No long wait. Of course if you have their app, then you can check in ahead of time. The gal who assisted me did a fine job. I liked it, and most importantly my wife liked my haircut. Based on this experience, I would return.

The manager was very rude. Does not belong in this business. She actually recommended the place down the road. What a great way to loose customers. Will it recommend this place at all. Please do yourself a favor and find that place down the road.

Rudest employees so unwelcoming and flat out rude. They did not tolerate my kids and waited until I paid and tipped to have the manager come tell me to never come back because she doesn't wanna cut my sons hair when she wasn't even the one who cut it

I met some nice people at the salon yesterday and had the worst experience with the stylist. She may need to go back to school. I asked layers she pulled up my air and I literally mean pull. I have never had any other stylist pull up on my hair.

I was in at the Rosedale shop out by Albertsons on March 6th, 2023. My hair was cut by Kaelinh. I have followed Kaelinh to whatever shop she has been moved to. I LOVE the way she cuts my hair. She does exactly as I ask. Many times when others cut it, it isn't at all as I asked. Just wanted to give props to this girl! Please keep her in one place so I can find her!!! Thank you Kaelinh for ALWAYS getting it right
