Disappointed !Ordered via Uber Eats, two individual pizzas. Vastly different from the other. Instead, we received two identical individual pizzas. I can't eat some of the ingredients that were in it, so mine went in the trash. Requested refund and got half of what I paid for the pizza. Husband said the crust was mediocre. Won't bother going there again.

Not sure if the owners understand what a pizza is. Extremely disappointed.
I would never order from here again.

There was no tomato or any kind of sauce on the dough. The crust was a strange density. The topping amount was ok but generously skimpy at best. Not much flavour of any type - probably due to the lack of a pizza sauce.
I have tried to visit or order from various pizza places when I come to Winnipeg & I have yet to find a GOOD pizza.
But this is probably the worst that I have.
Not a "bad" taste. Just No taste & not really a pizza dough.

I had supper this evening at Gondola Pizza. It is a chain in Manitoba and northern Ontario (I've never heard of them) and this is their original location. It's not even close to being fancy but it's comfortable.

I ordered a small pizza with tomatoes, pepperoni and ham. I love love love pizza and this was a pretty good pizza. The crust was thin and crunchy. The sauce was interesting as there was a bit of a bite to it ... it tasted like chili powder but it's part of the secret spice.

Ali was my server and he took good care of me.

      First to Review

The food selection in this part of town really isn't the best. If you don't feel like Subway or KFC, this is pretty much you only choice for Western food.

Because nobody knows this place exists, there is plenty of parking outside, even though there are only 6 spots or so.

Upon first glance, I wasn't even sure if it was open. It reminded me a bit of that pawn shop in Pulp Fiction. Getting ready to dodge some bullets, I took a deep breath and ducked inside. Instead of finding a couple of dead bodies, I found a really friendly waitress who promptly sat me down and brought out a menu.

I had a chance to try the Pioneer Pizza (farmer's sausage, beef, onions, mushrooms). It was $11 for a 9". The crust was nice and thin, but it wasn't quite tomatoey enough.

For condiments, you can get parmesan, chili flakes, and their in-house chili powder. The powder actually wasn't bad at all.

Inside it was deathly quiet, even with another table occupied. The other party (some family) had a ton of awkward silences. Maybe people here don't talk as much. Maybe some background music would've been nice.

Pop was a bit expensive at $1.50 a can.

I didn't get a chance to try their feature fully-loaded pizza ("The Boss"), so maybe another fellow Yelper can try their hand at this one.

Very excellent pizza best I have had for a while. It has a thin crispy crust, good tomato sauce and cheese, great toppings. The restaurant needs work but who cares, the pizza is worth it. I'm from Calgary and will visit each time I come to Wpg.

Skip the Pembina location and choose another if you are willing to pay big bucks for pizza give your money to a store that deserves it. The pizza is excellent albeit extremely pricey but worth it in my opinion. Unfortunately the first time I had an issue the store owner/manager was rude and unaccommodating. After waiting 1.5 hours for delivery (which is not uncommon) the pizza was barely even warm upon delivery (which is uncommon). Normally even with the extraordinary wait time it still arrives hot so I called the store. The owner/manager was immediately defensive and to paraphrase he tried to make it sound as if I was lying, then he blamed the weather. He said he will give me a discount next time but didn't request my information. He didn't even have my name as it was never given at the time of ordering. He offered $5 off which I expressed was not adequate. He became increasingly defensive but offered to pick this pizza up and exchange for another. I declined because I was not willing to wait an additional 1.5 hours with hungry kids to feed. He said it wouldn't take that long but given the fact his customer service was terrible up to this point I will not order from the Pembina location again. There are many other restaurants that are happy to provide quality food and service.

I ordered Gondola pizza last night for the first time in 6 years. They got 1 of the 2 pizza's wrong and said they would credit my account. Called them today to inquire about the price (as I believed they made a mistake) and verify the credit and had some of the worst customer service of my life. The guy I spoke too just rushed me off the phone without answering my question as he was too "busy" to help me out. No matter how good a pizza is when the service is terrible it's just not worth it, especially for the most expensive pizza in the city.

I'll start off by saying the pizza is great, especially the thin crust, but I had to give them a one-star rating based on the cutomer care (or lack thereof) they provide. We placed a delivery order with them and after the driver left, we noticed one of the pizzas was missing a topping (which wasn't hard to notice because it was only a one-topping pizza - I mean seriously Mr. Chef, how do you not notice you forgot to put on one topping, when it is the only topping on the pizza?).

As soon as we noticed their blunder, we phoned them and they told us they would give us a replacement pizza the next time we ordered, absolutely free. Sounds good so far, right?

Well, we do not order pizza that often (especially from Gondola, as they are very pricey), so the next time we ordered was a year and two days later (I kept the original receipt, with my own personal jot-notes, just in case they wanted details about the order). When I mentioned to the person taking my order that I was wanting my free pizza, along with an extra large and a large that I was paying for, they told me they would not honour the free pizza as it had been too long since they made the offer and I was suppose to claim my free pizza within one month of their so-called solution. I informed the person on the other end of the phone that I was never given a timeframe in which I had to claim my free pizza, and the response I got was "You should have know you only had a month". To which I responded that if I only had a month to claim my free pizza, they should have told me that.

I informed the person on the phone that I would cancel my order and contact the BBB if they did not honour their offer, and the response I received was basically an attitude of 'I don't care'. So, I cancelled the order, contacted the BBB, and now it's a waiting game.

It may sound petty that I am griping about the fact that I payed for one topping (about $1.40 after taxes) that I did not receive, but if you say you are going to comp. someone the next time they order, then you should do it, regardless of the timeframe, or else mention that there is an expiry date when offereing the comp.

UPDATE: After a back and forth exchange of words via the BBB, Gondola Pizza sent me a very brief letter of appology and a gift certificate for $15. Will I go back? Not in a hurry. Yeah, I got an appology and the pizza I was promised, but I shouldn't have had to fight for it like I did.
