Golden West Restaurant & Casino

I'm changing my review of Golden West, before Covid I would give this place 5 stars, however lately I've noticed this place is nickel & diming it's patrons recently to maximize profits. It's not just in the games however I have been told: "you gotta be playing if you're goanna sit there" even when I had money in their machine. It's little things I think this place has fallen victim to a micromanager and I don't enjoy coming here anymore.

went to lunch and had a really good time. food was all great except the egg roll appetizer. we got wings and the soup. burger, patty melt, blt and quesadilla. all were really good. our waitress kelly stole the show. she rocked. definitely give it a shot.

At Golden West, you'll find service with a smile, consistently good food at a reasonably fair price. Burgers & Tator Tots our outstanding! As far as ambiance though, be prepared, this place is a dive. Restaurant sorely needs fresh coat of paint, new lighting, window coverings, chairs & tables & maybe some live plants and artwork. Inspite of this, GW is the one and only spot in Mesquite we frequent regularly.​

This place was really good place to eat a few years ago. But I must say the last 3 times I have eaten there it has been bad. The service was bad and the food wasn't very good. The food itself was Luke warm at best. If you are thinking of going here or trying this place I would just drive right past this place.

It's a bar atmosphere. Customer service friendly, quick, and efficient. Inside there are slot machines, a bar, and a dining area. It's dark, dingy, smells like smoke so if you do not like or want to be in the atmosphere then this would not be the place for you. If you can overlook that then it could be enjoyable. We stopped in for a bite to eat and put a few dollars in the slots. Food was good and my mom's luck even better.

Did not gamble there, but boy did I eat! Was in Mesquite for a week with my two brothers. Breakfast was a consistently good experience. Small dining area, but a huge menu. Large portions of delicious food, all reasonably priced. Very personable morning staff who welcomed my brothers and me as if we were locals. Don't go expecting anything fancy, but if you want delicious food with great service, you won't be disappointed!

The food is amazing!!! Not a fan of the smoke and smell but the food comes out very good and never disappoints! Try the Taco omelette! Amazing

Delicious food, friendly staff, large portions. Reasonable prices. we didn't try it because we weren't sure how are Casino/bar would be regarding the food, but friends introduced us, and we had a great time and good food, and went back promptly! I recommend you get your exercise in that day before you go and enjoy the food! :-)

I love coming here. The service is always wonderful. This is a hidden gem that locals like myself come for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It should be noted that this is Restaurant, bar and casino. So sorry as per note on the door only 21 and older. They have a large wrap around bar with counter gaming. On this day I stopped in for lunch and had the Golden West Burger. It was very good. They do have the best burgers. They have daily specials as well. The employees here pride themselves on a well maintained business and the grade A certification seen at the front door. Clean inside and out.

Everyone in town knows Golden West has the best burgers in Mesquite but they quietly serve up a great breakfast, too. Golden west is a popular watering hole amongst the locals with their dimly lit full bar and friendly service. Video poker machines are lined up at every seat at the bar and they have fun slot machines in the back for the degenerate gamblers (points at self). There are a few tables on the inside for dining and a nice patio off to the side. They just updated their breakfast menu and added some weekend specials. On this past visit, I ordered the chili cheese omelette and couldn't be happier. . The portions were generous and the chili was flavorful. You can't beat the the prices for the amount of food you get. Golden West is a nice alternative when you're looking to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the casinos.

So glad this place survived the plague of lockdowns, a lot of great food places did not.

The art of cooking hash browns is largely lost in modern America, but not here. Hash browns are done perfectly. If you order eggs over-medium, that's how they are served, which sounds simple enough, except that a majority of restaurants serve the eggs exactly how they feel like it and not how you order them. Sausage patties are often a crap shoot as well, but Golden West serves high-quality sausage patties that are consistently delicious.

If it's anywhere near breakfast time and I am passing thru or in town, this is where you'll find me.
