I didn't know the immediate upstairs was for staff of some kind but after I heard the vulgar talk going on, I quickly turned around and left!
Seriously, what was that and what on earth and why on earth would staff talk like that for any reason?
No matter to me... I'll never visit again anyway.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 20, 2018
Friendly staff (seriously, Donny, the bartender is the best)
+ Free decks of cards played on real table games
+ Free drinks while you gamble (or shots of tequila if you're me)
+ BEADS!
+ Vintage slot machines, which pays in all coins
+ Small casino that isn't crowded and smashed full of people

Beeeeeeeeeeeads!!!!! We wanted beads and beads we got!!!! Hate to say that I didn't stay to play but truly we just needed decoration for Casio hopping for my buddies birthday so why the heck not! They're free, they're metallic, and they come in an assortment of color to most certainty draw attention to you and your group!!! Be silly, have fun, you don't even have to flash anybody!!!!

Have you ever wanted to gamble in jail? Then you should head to Golden Gulch Casino. While it's not really real jail the old, historic Black Hawk jail is actually located within this casino and is now filled with slots instead of criminals so you have the opportunity to scratch that off your bucket list if you're interested.
Golden Gulch is practically engulfed by it's two sister casino sites - the Mardi Gras and Golden Gates, but there is a small table area where the dealers are about as similar to Vegas girl dealers as you can find in Black Hawk, meaning they are called "G Girls" and wear rather skimpy outfits.
It's definitely a low-key gaming place with very few tables, $5 tables, and friendly folks working here. There is a snack bar and a regular bar, but no actual restaurants so if you get hungry you'll most likely have to go somewhere else unless you just want a snack. But, truthfully these are the kinds of places I like to gamble. It's like gambling in old downtown Vegas versus on the Strip.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Cindy H.Austin, TX13514612Oct 22, 2008First to Review
Oh the Golden Gulch. This is probably the first Casino that opened in Black Hawk. It's a tiny little spot that I am sure most people would just pass up...but it's got the 5 cent slots, and how can you pass that up?!
Plus, they give you free popcorn. What more could you want?Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jason A.Aurora, CO385Feb 19, 2012
We always park here, play a few hands and then walk around. Its indoor and covered. It it a little tight in the driveways, so beware.
I like the G girl tables. I find that the less clothing they wear the more I win. Since the feminine wiles dont work on me. My boyfriend wonders off most the time to play slots. I find the best table to be the worst located table which is right next to a door way and a pillar.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sandy C.Mesa, AZ08Dec 13, 2015
Lost $50 here in about 30 minutes. Couldn't get a drink. Went to the bar to order and she wanted to change me $3. While that isn't a lot for a beer she said ordering from the waitress on the floor was free. I told her the waitress ignored me and went for all the people at the tables and she shrugged her shoulders so I turned around and left. I will NEVER come back here. I live in the area and have friends and family who come stay with me so that we can gamble and have a few drinks without driving down the canyon. This place has been crossed off my list for good and I suggest you do the same. I don't want to have to wave down a waitress to get a beer. I can get drinks aplenty at about 20 other casinos within walking distance.
