Terrible! $90 for a trial makeup and came out looking worse than when I went in (no makeup). I chose to go to a "professional" to see what they would do. I expected someone that would take my coloring, face shape, eye shape, eye color, lip shape, etc. into consideration and suggest colors and the best way to apply. Instead I got a generic application that they would give to anyone and was asked what colors I wanted. I even spent the extra $25 to have individual eyelashes applied to see how they looked. When I left you could not even tell I had eyelashes! My eyelashes were curled for a micro-second and had a quick application of mascara. After airbrushing, fake lashes were applied and no additional mascara. What the hell???? Then I had to hurriedly pick a lip color which they do not supply the day of the event anyway. It was hideous and I never was offered or felt like I could try to see another color. When I suggested perhaps the eyeliner was too much and asked if it could be applied differently the girl acted as though it would look funny. I think this was the only way she knew how to do it. Hideous! I could never recommend this place. I must say that part of the problem could also be the awful lighting. You can't even really see what she is doing. The salon is dark with small bright spot lights that cause shadows everywhere. I don't know how they can even see what they are doing. I looked like they had used crayons in the dark. No precision whatsoever. Even if you have never worn makeup or applied your own makeup you could do a better job than this. I looked like Ozzie Osbourne upon exit. Very disappointing! I wish I had spent my money on fresh makeup products instead. The best part is they automatically add in the 20% tip. I guess the customer no longer decides whether something was a good job or not. SAD.

Alex and Kara were fantastic! We had to reschedule 3x due to the pandemic and they were supportive and responsive throughout the entire process. They were easy to work with, fun, and provided hair and make up for the wedding. Every girl looked stunning! Highly recommend.

I really have to disagree with the reviews posted here. Check out weddingwire to see 70 reviews recommending glitz and glam. Anyways, Jess and Mel were amazing at my trial and on my wedding day. They were patient and so detailed. They made me feel beautiful inside and out. Just the way a bride should feel. When you receive your contract you will see the pricing and how gratuity is included. I knew all of the pricing before my trial. Melanie used high quality make up and she made my eyes look so glam. I could go on and on- they were amazing!

I went to Salon Serenity (Glitz & Glam) in Somerset, MA yesterday with my mother for hair/makeup trials for my upcoming wedding in October.
The stylist, Erica, started with my hair first. It came out okay, not really like the pictures I showed her but she was able to get my short hair all up in the back with bobby pins. The more I looked at it, the more I disliked it. Almost looked like I had a helmet on my head. The entire time I sat there I was pushing the bobby pins back into my hair, as if the entire bun was going to fall out at any moment.
Then she started with the makeup. We only had a choice of brown or black eye makeup which I thought was kind of odd. I feel like if I'm going to a professional to get my makeup done then there should be a variety of different shades for different eye colors/skin color. When she finished my eye makeup, I looked like a raccoon with black circles around my entire eye. She then added mascara, one coat, which you could barely even see. My lashes looked non existent and I have pretty long/full lashes. After the eyes she did airbrush foundation. All it did was wash me out and not even remotely cover the few blemishes on my face. When asked about covering them up with concealer I was told that only brings more attention to the blemishes. Hmmmmm.... I've been doing makeup on myself my entire life and have never had a problem covering up a pimple or two.. and I would think I could have that done, especially on my wedding day! She did not reapply my mascara or touch up my eyes after the airbrush so it pretty much ruined all my eye makeup and made my hair line look all white/powdery. The lip color she picked out for me was bubble gum pink and looked terrible. All the makeup used was extremely cheap drugstore makeup/BH cosmetics. I would think if I'm paying $78 for a BRIDAL TRIAL I should at least get MAC. I also noticed that none of the brushes looked clean and I'm assuming she just uses the same brushes on everyone, which is highly unsanitary.
My mother also got her makeup done and again, it looked terrible. Black all around her eyes after she specifically said she wanted something subtle and not to look like she was performing on stage. Her face was very pale with bright pink blush. No contouring was done on either of us. We looked as if a child was drawing on our face with crayons. I was actually embarrassed to be in there and felt as though others were looking at us thinking how terrible we looked.
The entire experience from start to finish was a nightmare. This should not be my feelings after leaving a professional salon. She was an amateur that had no business doing makeup. I can be forgiving with the hair but the makeup was unacceptable. I could get a better makeover at the Macy's counter in the mall for free!!!
I would not recommend this place to anyone. If I could give it 0 stars I would.
I feel gipped out of $78 with gratuity AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDED!!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
