This will be an unusual review, so hang on:
I was driving on Bonita Rd. when I spotted a turtle in the middle of the road, crossing North to South. Incredibly, I managed to grab it before it was run over. A website which explained precisely what to do in these cases said NOT to return the turtle whence it came, as it is "on a mission" and will turn around and start again. The only place on the other side of the road which had a body of water was the Glen Abbey cemetery. I explained to the lady at the desk what had happened, and asked if they could take the turtle. She said they actually do have turtles in their pond, and food! I was beyond relieved and grateful.
I sure hope this turtle makes this its permanent home. Bonita Rd. is NOT a road which critters should be crossing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Rate 4.5 Been here numerous times as we have family and friends interred at this location. Years ago the staff took care of a family members funeral services during Covid and tried to give us the best memories possible with all the restrictions. Recently we witnessed another extended family funeral service. Thank you to the staff for continuously being professional. Thank you for giving our loved one dignity and for us peace. We appreciate it.

We are going to bury my father in law here. We've purchased the lot and in the process of scheduling the burial service. The location and view of the lot is beautiful. The staff have all been kind and the office is clean. Very professionanl and understanding. My family and I have had an good experience so far

I must say that the people at this location did a wonderful job with my mom's burial. My mom passed away on Wednesday, August 10 due to Alzheimer's. She's had it for around 6 or 7 years now. I must say that the services were quite expensive but thanks to my dad and brother, they made it work. My mom's casket and plot were already prepaid a long time ago.
I had cried when I went to the viewing and the actual funeral. It was hard for me to see her casket go underground. When that happened, dragonflies and beetles came flying towards my family. It must be a good sign that my mom is at peace.
The reception was perfect but they ended up running out of rice which was fine but my daughter wanted more rice lol. When we were done, the caters cleaned up our plates off the table.
I want to say thanks to the staff at the Glen Abbey mortuary because they handled everything perfectly and everything went smoothly.

They refuse to return my calls on the location of my Dad, Mom, and Son. I am beginning to believe that they may have misplaced their urns. Called at least 6 times in the last 3 weeks and no response.

My father is buried here and rests comfortably in peace. This is a nice cemetery to visit him and I recall the burial process and the staff here being very professional and understanding with it. They treated my family well. This truly is a peaceful place to visit my dad and reflect on his memory.

This funeral service has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. It took an excruciating four years to place a simple name plaque after ordering, and throughout this ordeal, they have consistently demonstrated a shocking lack of professionalism, organization, and empathy for grieving families. Their negligence and indifference to our needs have been utterly disheartening. To top it off, the memorial site they provided was marred by unkept and shabby grass, further compounding our grief. I would strongly advise anyone considering their services to look elsewhere, as this funeral service has proven to be a source of unnecessary stress and disappointment during an already challenging time.

I want to start of that the five stars is because of Ellen Rattu, the General Manager. I'm not sure if she's new to Glen Abbey but thankful she is there to "clean house". We have been trying to get a refund since 2018. Most recently this past January and we were told it would take 12-14 weeks to get the check from corporate. August came and we still have not received our refund despite numerous follow ups. Luckily, I came upon Ellen's contact information on Yelp. She seemed very genuine about solving customer's issues with Glen Abbey. Today, we finally received our refund check. Thank you, Ellen!

Excellent service was provided by the staff members Angela,Meresa and Gaston. For the Montijo's services. At last night memorial service the was a spillage on the counter and coffee went all over the floor. Right away the staff Angela,Meresa and Gaston acted swiftly and clean that area so nobody could slip and fall down. also, entering the services at last nights memorial, all three of them greeted the family was such compassion. You need to give them a raise and hire more people like them. They are a good at what they do.

Guillermo Vaca and Oscar Rodriguez were the ones to help me through the whole funeral process. My mom had bought a plot of land for her to be buried in, and after she passed away suddenly last month, I knew I wanted her body to be transported to Glen Abbey from the hospital. I immediately felt comforted when I called and made arrangements for a meeting with a funeral planner and they were really patient and kind. The people who work here have been trained well in dealing with grief, and I felt like they knew how to navigate things with a strong sense of empathy.
I scheduled my mom's funeral and viewing to be held at the Chapel of Roses. The meeting with Guillermo and Oscar covered everything from tips on where to order flowers to picking the color of my mom's casket and ordering her death certificate.
Guillermo was always just a phone call or text away and he made me feel that way too. He even replied to messages after he was out of the office or on his day off. Guillermo and Oscar always made me feel like I could come to them with questions, and not only that, they always made me feel like they could make whatever I need happen. This is really thoughtful and helpful, especially when you are going through the loss of a loved one. Guillermo made sure to get me connected with a deacon for my mom's service, and even little touches like dying my mom's hair and getting her clothing, music, and video and dvd together were taken care of by him.
They were not on hand for the viewing or burial itself, but the staff that was connected to me on those days were helpful and always willing to walk me through things every step of the way. Navigating life without your mom is a terrifying time, it really felt like I was living through the unimaginable, and they made me feel like they were holding my hand through all of it. We moved from the viewing to the funeral and the burial seamlessly. I looked at the presentation of everything at the end and thought "Wow. You can tell I really loved my mom."
