Was expensive for what the items came with. I got two dynamite rolls (with BOGO deal on uber eats) and a tuna roll and it came to around $20. Even with the deal the size of the food wasnt too impressive and left us feeling hungry still. Definitely better places for cost for what you can get
That being said, the tuna roll was fairly substantial with amount of fish in the roll.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jjojoe Y.Maple, Vaughan, Canada0105Feb 18, 2024
Old man is SUPER rude and unfriendly !!! I came weekly and order sushi plate from them . Old man is owner and I asked if him if I want extra little few wasabi on my sushi plate ! He said to me I will have to pay more ! And he said if I don't pay more I am not a good customer !!? What?? He said his sushi plate already discount ! so extra Wasabi will cost him ( but but what does his discount of the sushi plate has to do with me ??? )
And he also neglected when I said I come weekly he said does not matter if you come daily ??? More wasabi (I only ask a little more ) will cost him
He was already in some kind of frustration/deep low moody even before i was there !!
I don't need someone to lecture me when i am here to have my sushi while he kept talking so I stopped him by paying him money and leave !!
Guys , you are warned !!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - KC M.Niagara Falls, Canada11953Mar 30, 2022
Good day Fellow Foodies!!!
Ginza Japanese & Thai restaurant, haven't been here since the early days when they first opened. To my recollection the establishment and quality of food was pretty decent, above average I would say.
Fast forward to 2022 and COVID restrictions have lifted, yay! Time to support local businesses again. Was around the corner picking up supplies at Lowe's; figured I can use a dose of sushi. GINZA!!!!
Drove by the location and saw a posting for 50 piece Maki platter for $38!!! Which equates to less than $1/piece. Surprisingly I noticed a 2* rating for this location. Oh well I thought, best be my own judge than rely on others who may have a personal grudge. Rules of engagement "so to speak"
Service - 5/5* (Elaine )
Cleanliness - 5* (6 patrons included us during lunch)
Food Presentation - 2
Food Taste - 2
Food Quality - 2
I asked Elaine if the location was under new management, she replied no. I thought to myself this place has let things slide to complacency of just earning money and not believing in their own product.
In all honesty, the sushi is better than any grocery store product (1*), value for the product provided (1*), and lastly service (1*).
Total : a soft 3*/5
If they didn't pack the Maki rolls with rice (rice didn't taste fresh, tempura shrimp in the rolls were definitely not fresh) and provided a better quality of ingredients I would have given this location another star.
The plates provided was lacking visual appeal and presentation. 3 rules to the food game; Rule #1 Visual appeal supported by Rule #2 the taste of the food followed by Rule #3 the service which commences and concludes with either a or .
Conclusion of this review as follows; if your desperate for a quick fix of sushi and your in the area then Ginza is not a bad economical stop to fulfill that craving. If your looking for good quality, and tasty refreshing sushi then this is not the place to go.
Proprietors of Ginza Japanese & Thai restaurant; hope you make a slight revisement because that's all you need to do to build your customer base. Good food always draws back customers. It seems like you have lost your passion for food and it now reflects in the quality of the product you serve. Best endeavors! Hope to visit again and see some improvements.
Happy eating fellow patrons!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Esther T.Bracebridge, Canada02Aug 29, 2023

This is the only location of Ginza that I have visited since it's only across the street.
I have only dined in once, ordered the all you can eat option which wasn't that great, they are kinda stingy with their portions if you're doing the all you can eat.
However, I have picked up for takeout for over 10 times, and the portions are much better ordering off the menu.
It doesn't take long, usually takes about 10 minutes to prepare the order, and offer 10% or 15% discount if you pay cash or i think debit too.
I have always ordered the same items on the menu, as I've tried few and dropped these off my selections, so sticking around with "what I know"
Chicken and beef satays are great, with thick peanuts sauce 5/5
chicken Pnang Curry, full of flavour with bamboo sticks and all, amazing! 5/5
Calamari, if you're really craving it, then they're average 2.5/5
Coconut shrimp, the breading always fall off, and the flavour isn't there at all 1/5
Basil Beef 0/5
I recommend for takeout alwaysHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Issicos K.Vaughan, Canada0122Oct 15, 2019
This is my favorite place for all you can eat sushi.
Last Friday the place was busy as usual however the service was extremely BAD!!!!
It's never happened to me before, the food was good as usual however it doesn't make sense to wait 25 minutes in and between the orders .Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - M P.North York, Toronto, Canada04Oct 4, 2019
Teach this restaurant customer service. I ordered take out and when I came to pick my order , the guy who was at the cash did not greet me or even acknowledge me. Is this not an establishment? Only asked me cash or credit...very rudely.
After I paid did not say say Thank you..is that not a standard??? Honestly the food is sub par...if you act in such an arrogant way.. you will loose all your customers. Get your act together..there are a ton of other places to get sushi with good customer serviceHelpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Angela H.Northeast Edmonton, Edmonton, Canada801Jul 30, 2018
TLDR: Don't waste your hard-earned dollars here. They served me RAW PORK and if I get food poisoning later I would t be surprised.
I am not normally one to leave a review, but my experience here was so poor I had to write one. Avoid this place if you can. I don't expect much for AYCE sushi but this was not a good meal whatsoever. The only redeeming quality of this place is the atmosphere, that's literally it. Location is good if you live in Vaughan/Thornhill but you're better off driving over to the Ginza in Woodbridge or down to Centre street for Hockey Sushi or Kuu.
1) Food we ordered never arrived.
2) We ordered some of the dim sum dishes available and it was terrible. Not in the this is a Japanese restaurant and you are ordering Chinese food way. In the way that you could tell they threw it in the microwave and didn't even cook it properly. Pork buns were cold in the middle and the siu mai WAS NOT FULLY COOKED. I informed our server without complaint and the reaction was less than stellar. She just took it away. No apology, nothing.
3) The dishes overall were just not made well, we also had a spicy salmon roll and they literally just put the salmon in with nothing else and a kind of sauce that just made it taste off-putting. For the first time in my life I want to gag while eating sashimi and it was in a roll too...my dinner partner and I decided not to finish it because we both found it just so unappetizing.
Overall, it's very obvious that there is no care into running this business I'm surprised anyone goes here and that they are operational. Lack of care for their dishes and non-existent customer service. For $26.99 on a Monday night I do not ever want to come back. Please if you're reading this don't spend your money here.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
