Q:
What is the proper way to execute a catering order with Dingfelders as they ignore or lose emailed orders and can't take the order over the phone? How do they compensate when they add stress and mess up a holiday order?
A:
This is not a question, it is an accusation. Why not write your bad review instead of posing?
Gregory G B.Â3 months agoQ:
Are you certified kosher?
A:
Any deli that serves both meat and dairy dishes would not be doing that under kosher supervision, which would mean this business could never be certified kosher if only due to lack of supervision. Even when certain procured ingredients (such as… more

Oh my god, had the best sandwich EVER at Dingfelder's. I was torn between the corned beef and the pastrami, then I realized I could get BOTH! It's a pricey sandwich but it's also a huge sandwich, in my opinion so worth it. Every single bite was so good. I can't wait to come back here and try more things! I also got a slice of their cheesecake which is your typical NYC cheesecake. It's also pretty huge so with both of those you've got yourself a meal!
One note is that it's kind of hard to get a cup of water... if their coffee counter is open you can ask for water, but otherwise you'll need to ask someone working in the back. Maybe they should just put out a water dispenser haha.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 4, 2024
Cute spot, with to-go options and a small indoor seating. Quick counter service. Open early and a great breakfast spot.
Authentic deli food you can't find elsewhere, with a wide menu from knishes to latkes to matzo ball soup to classic bagels. They even have black and white cookies!
I only tried the latkes today for a quick bite, but I've also tried the chocolate and cinnamon babkas to-go. The latkes were delicious, but they were premade and heated up, and they had a side of sour cream/apple sauce. At 3 for $10, it was definitely on the pricey side.
The babkas were amazing, 10/10. If you've never had chocolate babka, must give it a try! I think the to-go food options are more value and still taste just as good!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bonnie Y.Lake Forest Park, WA01435Apr 28, 2024
As one of Seattle's two? three? Jewish delis, Dingfelder's is doing some heavy lifting for the city. One of the things I took for granted about living in New York is the accessibility of a quality bagel sandwich, in particular whitefish salad on pumpernickel, so I've been meaning to try this one out for a while (in my previous quest to Bagel Oasis, I bought my salad separately and assembled it myself).
The sandwich was good, ingredients were quality, nothing much else to say here: it tastes like what a whitefish salad on pumpernickel is supposed to. Thumbs up. I will say the "pickles" on the side are perplexing, kind of like they tossed cucumbers with pickle brine and called it a day.
Though I opted to enjoy the beautiful weather outdoors, the interior was super clean and well lit, so it's a nice space to dine in as well.
The main drawback was that I paid $25, including tax and tip, for a single bagel (sorry, was that burying the lede?). I'll definitely be back to try a sandwich, which looks equally delicious and seems to have a better volume/price ratio.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jenny H.Seattle, WA194051Apr 17, 2024
Cute little corner deli with MASSIVE sandwiches. Reminds me of New York. I got a pastrami sandwich which I shared with my partner and I am so glad we split cause we were so full from just half. It was delicious and I will be coming back from more. Next time may try it Seattle style for a smaller portion.
The employees here are so nice and I love that they give out free bakery samples here. They were fun to try. We also got a loaf of marble rye which was gone in 2 days. Love this place!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 2294520Apr 20, 2024
This place is a gem! There aren't many Jewish delis in Seattle and it's such a treat to have Dingfelder's in the neighborhood. Their sandwiches are pricey but holy hell is it worth it. I got the Rachel, my partner got their Ruben. Both sandwiches were heaven. The staff was so kind, ambiance super chill. The owner was working the counter and was so friendly. He thanked us for coming in and I wanted to thank him for his food!! I was glad to see this place packed and hope they continue to do well. We'll be back soon!

Dingfelder's feels like a typical NYC deli: the aged outside of the building, but modern rustic on the inside. It's a counter service deli, place your order at the counter, and they'll call your name out. So far, it's the best bagel I've had in Seattle (living here for 5 years so far), and it's similar to a NY style bagel.
* Matzo Ball Soup - Absolutely delicious! We've had this a few other places, even Katz in NYC, and this has been the best. The Matzo ball had a ton of flavor, and the soup contained chicken and veggies, tasting like a typical veggie soup.
* Whitefish Salad w/ Lox Spread on a toasted Everything Bagel - Tasted great! There's only one other place I've been that's had a better whitefish salad (in NYC). It was cold, fresh, and flavorful (not a fan of it when it's lukewarm).
* Lox w/ Plain Cream Cheese on a toasted Onion Bagel - Tasted great! The lox was cold, not fishy nor slimy, and had just the right amount. The bagel didn't have much of an onion taste, but the consistency with fluffy and a little crunchy; it was on point.
Overall, the whole place smelled amazing, especially the Pastrami sandwich when they were bringing it to other tables. The bagels and food we had was delicious, best we've had in Seattle, and better than some in NYC. I recommend trying it out, I definitely will be back!Helpful 3Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 0 - Chris Y.Metairie, LA1148Apr 26, 2024
The food was good and the people are nice. The menu is overwhelming but they will walk you through it. I am a first timer there and got a lox bagel, half smoked salmon with scallion cream cheese on a toasted everything bagel. It's delicious! And the slaw and pickled veggies were awesome too!

Great deli. Our first time here. We ordered a Perubuen sandwich with brisket and pastrami. Everything is made in house. The potato salad was okay. Small serving. The sandwich came out piping hot with cheesy goodness on well toasted marbled rye. The cheese cake was thick. I didn't like the crust but the cheesecake part was delicious. Pricey but we definitely liked our food!

I was in Seattle for the day and decided to get some "real" deli food. Spokane has many flavors but, alas, no Jewish delicatessens. I found Vance Dingfelder himself working the counter. I ordered a corned beef sandwich on rye with mustard, cheesecake and a cream soda.
It is no boast to say, that having lived in Los Angeles 60 years, I have eaten in some wonderful delicatessens, including: Abe's, Billy's, Canter's, Langers, Nate and Al's, Jerry's, Brent's and Solly's. But in all my 69 years I have never had a better corned beef sandwich than Dingfelder's. The meat was generous, moist and sweet. I had to clutch the sandwich tight to keep the meat from spilling out. The cheesecake was great too!
The building looks like Yucca Flats after the bomb hit, it's counter orders only and there are few tables, but what is going on in that kitchen trumps all aesthetic concerns. I brought a big plastic container for the second order I took home on the plane. Seattle, you don't know how lucky you are to have Dingfelder's on your home turf!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - John J.Notre Dame, IN2558196Feb 20, 20241 check-in
First things first... this place was amazing. The deli was clean. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all my questions. I got a few items, including cheesecake, an onion roll, and a 2 meat reuben with corned beef and pastrami. All were fantastic, but I am going to focus on the reuben since that is what I was seeking on this trip from Southern Oregon. Let me tell you... I was NOT disappointed! The meat was tender, succulent, and piled high :) I was eating the meat off the sandwich before taking a bite of the actual sandwich!!!!
This place is an absolute gem and well worth your time. It is hard to find a great deli, and this is one. Five starsHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
