Quarter system is the best
In my opinion this is a great school with a lot of helpful teachers and students. This is my first year at the school and I've enjoyed this quarter. Like a lot of community colleges the classes start off full to the max with 30 students then dwindle down to 12 - 15 students.
The campus isn't a big as other community colleges in the area like Canada college but I feel the school makes up for that with great academics. The quarter system is better, for me, then the semester system.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jeremy R.San Jose, CA6394May 4, 2017

I agree with a lot of Rachel's comments, being a Cal alum (GO BEARS!) myself. Yes, I am Korean so it should be easy, but I didn't have to work overly hard to get an A+. Nevertheless, it was easy to register despite the fairly ghetto circa 1995 looking website. The teacher is good and she challenged us to learn Korean in many ways. A nice touch was that she summarized the chapter's lessons in a 2-page handout. This was all we really needed to study for quizzes, the midterm, and the final.
The parking lot is always crowded on the Middlefield Campus at 7pm on TuTh, a good sign that their classes are being filled. I'll take Korean as long as I can here. My parents and friends can see a drastic improvement in my Korean after one quarter and 3 weeks into the second quarter.
It's hard to work FT in a demanding job and then take 5 hours of class with 3-6 hours of work a week, but I love that my total commute on a work+class night is still less than 20 miles.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Chris M.Hercules, CA6281491194Nov 24, 2013
This community college has free parking!!!
Any college campus with free parking gets an automatic 4 stars from me!
Anyways, attending school here felt more like high school than a traditional college campus. The buildings aren't big and all are one story. They are clearly marked and it's hard to get lost. The classrooms are small and have the typical desks with plastic black chairs and woodtops. I can't speak for every classroom, but my class was equipped with a dry erase board and a projector. I also spotted a few vending machines with sodas and snacks around campus.
My main complaint is the small bookstore. Unlike other college bookstores, you speak to a worker and that person will get the book for you. Lines can get long and there could be a wait depending on how many books the person ahead of you is buying. Also, there aren't many bathrooms and I had to walk across campus just to use one. Not a real big complaint but it's still a hassle.
If I was not so far from this campus, I would probably be taking classes here every quarter (I'm a nerd, I know haha). The campus is easy to navigate and there's plenty of parking. The free parking alone makes this one of my favorite community colleges!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - J P.Sunnyvale, CA5419326Mar 20, 2008
They just started offering Human Performance classes here. Apparently that's what they call P.E. nowadays. Those crazy kids and their jive lingo!
I'm taking a core conditioning class on T/Th at 5:30. Perfectly 1/2 way between office and apartment, and free parking makes this the perfect location for me to pay someone to torture me for an hour and a half twice a week. And *way* cheaper than a gym membership or class fees.
I've also taken Algebra here (post BS re-learning). I really like the convenience of this campus.
I've never stood in line at the Administration Building. Lots of available and up-to-date computers in the Student Center/Computer Lab. Tell Al at the Student Center "hi!" - he's a nice guy.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marvin N.Sunnyvale, CA135654Mar 23, 2012
This campus is perfect for me because I work at NASA so its 7 mins from work.
The administrators are extremely helpful and are rarely super busy so you always get you questions answered.
Its impossible to get lost on campus because everything aid out pretty straight forward.
During breaks there are a lot of great places to eat nearby such as Rojoz and the deli at Piazzas.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Molly G.Sebastopol, CA7252Sep 12, 2010
Foothills college has a beautiful campus and the Middlefield campus is especially convenient, located right in between Mountain View and Palo Alto.
The teachers I've had for Bio 41A, Stats10, and Spanish have all been very friendly, and I'm planning on taking 3 more classes there this fall quarter.
One issue that I've had is that the teachers don't seem to expect much from the students and make it almost impossible to do poorly in the class. If I do well I want it to be because I deserve it, not because the grades are inflated.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 11, 2013
satellite campus for foothill college, located near the border of palo alto & mountain view. while there are fewer course offerings here, the classrooms are much easier to find and the buildings are well-labeled. the biggest perk, in my opinion, is the free parking! at main campus in los altos hills, parking is a flat $3, regardless of length of time parked, but at this satellite campus, parking is free, anyday, everyday, any hour of the day! while the campus itself is smaller than main campus, i've never had a problem finding a parking space right next to the building where my class is being held. the administrative staff is friendly and helpful, and actually does what they say they're going to do. two thumbs up for middlefield campus!

I took some online classes it wasn't the greatest. I wouldn't recommend it. It was a waste of money. I only took online classes. I took ECE classes mainly the teacher wasn't that great and she taught most of my classes.
