About the Business
Falls General Store is home to the Three Bridge Cafe offering home style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner - egg sandwiches, avocado toast, house-made maple sausage, deli and panini sandwiches, Reuben, NY-style pizzas, quesadillas, and our in-house bakery bakes our sandwich breads, pastries, cookies and more! Our deli case is stocked with a variety of side dishes, cooked and raw meats and other foods sold by the pound. Take your meal outside to our picnic tables by the covered bridge! We are also a specialty and natural foods market carrying a great selection products, bulk foods and natural supplements such as CBD products. Our beverage cooler holds many Vermont craft beers and ciders and our wine section is hand-picked by our staff. Our espresso and smoothie bar is especially popular and we carry St. Alban’s/Wilcox Creamery ice cream and creemees (soft serve ice cream). Lots to explore at the Falls General Store in Northfield Falls, Vermont!

Nice selection of food and coffee surprisingly for a small town convenience store. They sell more natural and higher quality items. A bit more pricey but you get what you pay for.

Out and about in Vermont doing the tourist thing checking out covered bridges and finding ourselves hungry, and discover this place. It's the kind of place you see in a movie with a home town Americana feel. I asked if food was available and was directed to a deli counter to the rear of the store. I was enamored by the bread selection and ordered a BLT Club on sourdough. OMG. The bacon carried through with crunch and a such a wonderful smoke. Tremendous. That coupled with Boars Head Turkey breast, mayo and crisp lettuce. What a find

The prepared food on the menu, like pizzas or anything, is really good. They have bread, cake, and pastries that are really awesome. I didn't give five stars because although we have had the pandemic here the last 2 years, their schedule has not been consistent and many changes turned me off many times when I was ready to go and crave some of their delicious items on the menu. I hope they can be more consistent and offer a better time for shopping. maybe they are not interested in the people who leave or arrive in the town before 7 am when we could stop and get a breakfast item to go, or the folks that are arriving late to town from work and would like to get something for dinner and it's already late. maybe we are not in their scope but one of those options would work pretty well. Besides that, they offer great quality grocery products that no one else offers in town.

I recently relocated to Vermont and have been delighted to discover Falls General Store and Three Rivera Cafe. For anyone interested in healthy food options, there is the General Store much like a mini-Whole Foods. For those like myself who aren't culinarily inclined, the cafe offers the same quality of food prepared that is tasty as it healthy. Served by the owners and staff, they are always hospitable when serving the Chef-prepares dishes, Maple Latte, or any of the wholesome foods from the store. For anyone with a discerning taste pallet or just hungry for healthy options, I'd recommend this business to residents and visitors alike.
PS- Not only is there a Cafe, upstairs there is a Yoga studio. It's truly a diamond for the Northfield and surrounding areHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jun 2, 2019Previous reviewI recently relocated to Vermont and have been delighted to discover Falls General Store and Three Rivera Cafe. They offer McKenzie deli turkey that has carrageenan in it.
Carrageenan, an ingredient derived from red seaweed, is commonly used as a binder indeli meats to help prevent meat from falling apart when sliced. I would not want too put that on my body.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Fran L.Boston, MA2296377Oct 2, 2017
My grandson and I were touring Lake Champlain and heading back to Massachusetts. We stopped here because a local person said they had great pizza. They were right!! This was a general grocery store that also make OUTSTANDING pizza and all of their own baked goods and pastries! We were SOOOO happy we stopped to get a pepperoni pizza and leave with some pastries for the ride home. The staff are friendly and helpful and the cook came out to see how the pizza was - we gladly told him that it was excellent!

Awesome food, great people, and their ice-cream is great. They have limited menu on Monday and Tuesday, and full menu is available rest of the week. I had the "Treehugger wrap" and it was delicious. Short drive from the Norwich University, definitely worth a stop. Their pizzas are great as well.

I stumbled on this charming, renovated General Store that has a Vermont feel but definitely the quality of an up scale place like Balducci's in NYC, or City Market.
Everything here is homemade, including the Mayo and the ketchup which is pretty impressive. All the stocks are made from scratch, and most of the food is organic, there are proteins our local as well. As a chef, I can't say enough about quality of the food here. Also the portions are very large, I could make two to three meals out of them easily. After trying several different soups...yum...and a couple of their specials....delicious... I had to try the pizza because I was skeptical. Coming from NYC I'm a little bit of a pizza snob, but it turns out the owners of from there too, so they are serious about their pie. Homemade pizza dough, San Marzano tomatoes, high-quality cheese, thin crust, it did not disappoint. I wish this place was closer to my house in Connecticut, I'd be there every week. Bon Appetit everyone check it out! That's the pastry chef coming out with Gorgeous homemade Christmas cookies, I had the gingerbread it was spectacular!!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nate F.Northfield, VT13910Aug 8, 2014
I'd like to point out the top two items that stand out at the Falls General Store which demonstrate the new establishment's incredible appeal:
1. The authentic Italian Cannoli and;
2. The incredible specialty-spiced Vermont breakfast sausage.
When was the last time you found a good cannoli in Vermont? Let me tell you, this traditional dessert is a rare treat in rural locations.
On the other end of the culinary spectrum you'll find the *best* spiced breakfast sausage since my grandmother made it fresh on the farm. The spiced sausage is traditionally served with Vermont maple syrup, providing a spicy/sweet morning start. Not spicy-hot, mind you. Flavors of sage, marjoram and thyme fill your mouth with a bright, refreshing start to your day. It's worth a one-hour trip to tiny Northfield, Vermont just to taste this classic, rarely found homespun recipe.
5 Stars to the Falls General Store's daily menus. Located next to three of Vermont's historic covered bridges, it is a must-visit for tourists and a welcome, regular culinary experience for locals.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
