Local Israeli restaurant that executes authentic flavorful dishes without any extra flare.
The food was great, very flavourful and well presented. The menu has plenty of reasons to return multiple times. The servers are wonderful, attentive and quick to help with recommendations. There is plenty of parking in the front and around the corner. This is a place highly recommended and will definitely return soon.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 28, 20241 check-in
Etzel Itzik Deli in Aventura is a hidden gem for lovers of Israeli and Eastern European specialties. The Saturday special, "cholent" or "chamin," is a bean, beef, and potato stew with the addition of an egg, marrow bone, and kishke (derma)--the felafel balls made from scratch, and they make a solid burger and fries. The babaganoush made from roasted eggplant made with tahini (in my opinion, more flavorful than the mayo version; they offer both).
The frozen mint lemonade, "Lemonana," was the perfect refreshing beverage. The walls are covered with years of customer pictures, adding a personal touch. Itzig, the owner, ensures every guest leaves happy, and the homemade dishes, rooted in his Mom's recipes, deliver an authentic experience. All that's missing is a cozy corner for the inevitable post-meal nap. Etzel Itzik Deli is a culinary journey worth taking!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 25, 2023
Hole in the wall vibe with the BEST FOOD!! You can't go wrong dining in or taking out. I've done both & highly recommend.
You will not walk away hungry because they have huge portions and what feels like a million sides. The sides include things like beets, carrots, salads & pasta.
My go to here is a babaganoush and hummus (with tahini of course), falafel balls, and anything with cabbage. If you're there on Saturday, try the Cholent which is a hearty beef and bean stew.
Also, try the mint lemonade for a refreshing twist with the crushed ice & mint leaves!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Charles S.Miami, FL02Apr 17, 2024
What a great place to enjoy Israeli food! First time ever visiting this full of pictures on the walls restaurant! I ask for suggestion and as a vegetarian they brought so delicious, plate of falafel and stuffed grape leaves along with pita, and small vegetarian plates, The juice was a lemonade with a lot of mint! At the end to go a dessert that tastes roses, I like it!

Family restaurant, great spot to share a quick affordable mean. It is also super casual and has a diner vibe. Needless to say, A great classic to keep on your list.
Service is ok; what you would expect for a dinner, quick and friendly.
The highlight for us were all the pickled goodies and small bites They bring out soon as you walk in the door. It was amazing. We have never been in a place that has done that!
Definitely try the hummus, the chickpeas and rice plate were great, The lamb kebabs were juicy too. The only thing we were crazy about, were the falafel. It wasn't bad. It was just kind of bland,Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 3814693Jul 18, 2023

The flavor of the eggplant took me back more than 30 years to when we used to make this almost every Saturday morning at home. I've so craved a good version of Sabich -- and have endured many poor ones in my search -- that I can't really believe I found one.
Can't wait to try more of the menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 853131396Aug 20, 2023Updated review
This is one of my favorite places in North Miami Beach. The first time I went there was about 5 years ago. Most of my friends completely obsessed with this place after we visit. I think a little appetizers might be my most favorite part. I also recently tried Baba ghanoush and honestly I can't even describe how delicious it is. The pitas are always fresh and soft. You definitely come out full after visiting restaurant. Parking is a hit or miss and it's always a lot of people in there. I can't say that the staff is most friendliest or attentive but they are growing on me and the food worth it!

Eating in Israel without going to Israel - that's Etzel Itzik deli. Excellent food and service. Ambiance id as expected of a deli. I would love to come back for some shakshuka - it looked amazing. Bring cash as they charge 3 percent for credit card transactions.
