First time here -- it can't highly recommend -- and it's just meh.
The building interior is really nice! Definitely blends in with Twain Harte.
The service was good -- drinks were kept full, bread fresh and refilled, balsamic vinegar and olive oil flowed as long as we needed more, and a nice vibe from our server.
I ordered iced tea, clam chowder, and the 16 ounce ribeye medium rare. Veggies were good, garlic mash was good, tea good. But then the steak. NOT medium rare. This is medium well. I was dining with a large group and did not want to inconvenience them, so did not send the steak back. One of my dinner mates commented that his steak was not cooked correctly either. For about $50, i really expect the sides to be outstanding, and the steak cooked perfectly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Keith R.Davis, CA30141713Mar 25, 2024
HAVE AGAIN: Delicious and perfect baked potato and bread. Nice vegetable selection (carrots, broccoli and cauliflower) but needed a minute or two more cooking.
NOT HAVE AGAIN: The filet mignon was good but not enough spices despite the garlic butter.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 21, 2023
We really enjoyed the prime rib steak; was juicy, perfectly grilled and tasty. Side dishes with the rice, steamed veggies done right. Ordered calamari strip for extra $ . The clams was also nice & came with bread. Loved the huckleberry ice cream! The staff always checked on us and very accommodating .
Love the historical building and bar with live band ( Saturday Night ) was fun to watch post-dinner.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 25, 2023Updated review
Enjoy a delicious dinner in this cabin style restaurant. Our dinner from start to finish was delightful and full of flavor. The waitress paired a nice glass of wine with my meal and was efficient. Great friendly service.

I think the Eproson house is such a cute place with good service but sadly the menu use to be waaaaay better than it is now. We use to go every time we were in Twain Harte but now when we go the menu just isn't as exciting, so we end up skipping. I use to love the tri tip Caesar salad and a few others that were perfectly paired and cooked. Awaiting a menu change so we can start coming in again.

I really enjoyed the food here. The service was impeccable and the location is just gorgeous. Wr sat right next to the fire place. I ordered the grilled salmon and wild rice with veggies and broccoli chowder soup and have zero complaints. Enjoyed and will definitely return!

The food isn't bad and the service was great. My main complaint is they present themselves as a nice steakhouse, and then you go to the restrooms and they have a bunch of trashy graffiti like it's a truckstop diner.
It's in the men's bathroom from what I saw, and my 17-year-old daughter saw a bunch of derogatory offensive writing in the women's bathroom as well. So I suppose, if you were going there without children, it would be OK,Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Gary B.Tuolumne, CA1102Mar 23, 2024Updated review
Cold dinning room, damn near freezing . unseasoned salmon, vegetables large slightly steamed unseasoned, service was good but for almost 500$ for ,meah. And I'm local so I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Won't be coming back for a while. Not expecting a miracle . But I have to thank my in-laws for taking us out for dinner , that was very nice .

Came here for a bday dinner and we had a reservation for a Saturday night. We were seated within 5 minutes and the service was good. Waitress was helpful and provided all our requests and orders correctly.
The food was ok... I ordered the prime rib and everything was ok, the flavoring was ok. The entree comes with veggies, 1 side and 1 soup or salad.
My son really enjoyed the kids cheeseburger and fries.
My cousins did order the lobster and did not turn out very well. The lobster tasted not fresh, so he asked for another order. They got the steak and shrimp which tasted better.
Saturday nights there's a live band on the other side of the restaurant, pretty fun if you want to check out as an evening event.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wayne K.Vallecito, CA015Oct 31, 2023
What a disappointment.
Dry, cold crumbly bread
Ordering a top shelf cocktail but getting a well drink
Soupy, tasteless rice that they call "Risotto"
And then charging outrageous prices for the experience.
Three of the four of us do not plan on going back. The fourth says he will, but that may be because he was the one who chose the restaurant.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
