En Fuego Cantina & Grill serves up inventive margaritas, traditional Mexican dishes and fresh seafood. Our menu exemplifies flavors of the Mexican Riviera. En Fuego loosely translated means ON FIRE, and we try to embody our name. We are a popular Mexican place drawing a diverse crowd with coastal-influenced cooking and creative margaritas. Our multi-level restaurant has plenty of patio space and an eclectic vibe. En Fuego has established itself as a pre-party and after-party spot during the horse racing season. So make sure you don't miss out on the fun. Our lively bar scene has a great selection of wines and we take pride in our margaritas, in fact we have a few that will knock your socks off. Our signature margarita is a one of a kind. "Why?", you ask? Well, it's because Herradura creates a tequila especially crafted for En Fuego Cantina and Grill you can't get anywhere else! During the summer months we are definitely the place to be. On Sunday and Wednesday evenings you can find live music, Happy Hour is served every day from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, and enjoy taco and drink specials every Tuesday from 4:30 pm until close. Just to add to how awesome we are, we are also pet friendly on our patio. So bring your furry friend so he can join in on the fun. Whether you are popping by for lunch, dinner, or Happy Hour you are in for a treat while relaxing in our treehouse like ambiance. We hope you enjoy your stay.

Follow En Fuego on Instagram. Love their support for the community during COVID. Decided to do a take out order. Ordered chicken nachos, chicken enchiladas and house margaritas. Food was excellent. No soggy nachos, 2 bags of chips and salsa and margaritas were perfect and tasty. Will be ordering take out again soon.

This place is garbage. Host/hostess is consistently rude, inefficient and incompetent. Today we arrived at 2pm for a late lunch. Plenty of empty and uncleared tables but no hostess or anyone to greet us. There was a family waiting in front of us who flagged a worker to get seated but the guy never came back. I went in and asked a waitress to help and she advised the host should be there. Nope. Not there.
When he finally showed up, he seated a group behind us then told us all to clear the waiting area and line up outside. What?!?!
Everyone was trying to politely re-organize who was first and he basically ignored us and told everyone to re-sign in and there would be at least a 15 min wait.
This place sucks. We've had consistently bad service here but decided to give it another try since we live in the neighborhood. Nail in the coffin.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Claudia A.Dallas, TX0224Aug 23, 2018
Taco Tuesday is always a great idea! Especially with music, the cantina, and great food.
When we arrived the host wasn't present.
We waited for 10 mins before we got seated. The restaurant was slow so there was plenty of outdoor seating on the lower level. After being seated inside we asked to be seated outside ... of course the server wasn't friendly about that.
Once seated we waited for a stretch of time to have our drinks delivered.
We looked over the menu and were urged to order quickly as it was nearing closing time. Mind you we were there 2 hours before closing.
After quickly looking at the menu she came back with urgency, asking for our order.
Never once looking to refill our water cups.
Once our order was placed, our drinks were finished and no one came to check on our water or drink refill.
Eventually my boyfriend had to ask for a pitcher of water. Sometimes you just have to do it yourself.
Our food came and to my surprise ... MANGO goes on everything according to this restaurant. I didn't care for it as the mango was a bit green. The food was ok.... we had to wait for the server to come back as we wanted another round of drinks. To our surprise the waiter comes back sooner than before and she tells us " MY MANAGER IS TELLING ME TO CLOSE YOU GUYS OUT" .... I ask politely are you closing? And she turns bright red and says no! we weren't done with our food ... we wanted another round of drinks .... and we were being kicked out ....
This was the most rudest thing any manager has ever done she was a tall blonde that looked sour! She had been eyeing our table. Just a couple out having drinks.... and dinner. We didn't hand our card over since we weren't finished with our meal.
The waiter came by once again, and I asked "are you guys closing" and she replied "my manager said to close you guys out" Once Again! since we weren't done we held on to the check and finished our meal, the waiter came back and then we handed the card. We looked around and more people were getting seated and ordering.
The manager was clearly not fond of our biracial differences as a couple nor the age difference.
All I have to say is that this was an awful experience we didn't deserve to get closed out and end our night shortly .... that manager was rude, and plain mean and if you're reading this I hope you've changed your ways and attitude towards people of other backgrounds!
Customer service isn't the best here and it starts with management.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Blake D.Chula Vista, CA0331Jan 16, 2022Updated review

En Fuego's Cantina has the best service and friendliest staff. Every time we come to Del Mar (From Long Beach area) we have to stop and enjoy a meal and delicious margaritas at En Fuegos. The atmosphere and ambience are on excellent and the staff is very inclusive for young families as well as bar patrons. I highly recommend

Went to En Fuego and had one of the best Chile rellenos ever. Our server Jesus made me some mui picoso salsa as a special treat. The chips were perfectly crispy, and the regular salsa was good. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. We will be back soon

Real nice restaurant! Fresh food...the hosts in the front seem out of it...they're young children so seating is always a little akward as they're not sure where to sit us...the server named Victor is very kind and warm...service kind of slow but the ambiance makes up for the lag!

It was busy but Rachel totally hooked us up. The margaritas were on point. I had the chicken enchiladas and they were bomb.

My family made a reservation here for my sister's graduation dinner at 7. We showed up at 6:45 only for the hostess to tell us that we didn't have a reservation. I asked if we could have a few separate tables to accommodate our party. Without even looking to see if there were any openings, she told us that they were full that night and couldn't take anyone else. I knew this was a lie because the entire patio was empty and there were other families who had just put their name down before we checked in.
After informing other members of my family, my sister and mother spoke with the manager to show that we actually did make a reservation, and the manager offered to seat us at that moment! It was ridiculous! However, we were not going to support a business that discriminates against us or makes us jump through hoops just to get our reservation.
En Fuego lost a great deal of money that night. Even more so, En Fuego has lost my business forever. After reading other reviews that follow the same theme as my own review, it is clear that En Fuego does not value hospitality or customer service.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Steve M.San Diego, CA19612959Jan 20, 2019
