Red flags-
Unless you are set on buying the puppy based on the photograph on their website, they don't
1. Let you see the puppy in person
2. Provide you with breeder information
3. Treat you with manners
I called about a Shiba Inu and the man seemed very short tempered with me. I asked him very general questions,
How old is the puppy?
What is your health guarantee?
Can you provide breeder information?
They have a "if you're not buying the puppy get out of my face" attitude.
When I asked to see the dog, he said "are you ready to put down a deposit?"
The dog wasn't going to be ready to go home for another three weeks and I hadn't even seen the dog yet... or been provided with breeder information. That is a very unreasonable thing to assume that I would give you money for a deposit.
Lastly, most places offer a one year health guarantee, but this place only offers a 6 month guarantee.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vanessa S.WHITESTONE, NY17427Jun 14, 2022
Our family experience with them was good. We got a beautiful little puppy, exactly what we were looking for. Wanted to adopt but my wife is highly allergic and needed a specific breed.

Have not purchased a puppy from here. Was inquiring via their Facebook messenger how to come in and view puppies. With the pandemic I realize that many shops are only accepting reservations. I was surprised to learn that they only supplied pictures of the puppies over the internet and would only make a reservation once you wanted to purchase. What sort of legit pet store would want to sell one of their animals to a person who had not even spent 5 minutes with it? And what type of person would buy an animal sight unseen? This is a crazy and unrealistic practice of trading a LIVING BEING. So disappointing.

I got my Bichon, Snowball, back in 2013. He is now almost 9. I had been to multiple different stores at that time and Empire Puppies was the only store who had 2 Bichon in store, a boy and a girl. I ended up getting the boy. He didn't act like the other puppies in the windows, running around. He was nervous and a little scared, but I took him anyways. It took him a few days before his real personality came out, and he was acting like a crazy puppy running around the house.
Almost 9 years later, he is very healthy. He's a bit bigger than your average Bichon, but I prefer it over the dainty dogs. I'm also planning on getting another dog since one of my other dogs passed away a few months ago.
The only reason I didn't give a 5 star is because the guy who helped us wasn't really nice.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Momo M.Flushing, NY01Nov 2, 2021
This place is a scam. They don't even have puppy in store. When you call, they ask you to view on their disaster website to pick the pup and let them know so that they will trafficking the pup somewhere else. They only take appointment for PURCHASE!!!! Without seeing the puppy first ? Are you kidding me ? DO NOT EVER EVER EVER TRUST THIS PLACE. Don't go.

I came here uneducated and unaware about this puppy shop almost 6 years ago. If only I knew 6 years ago I would've never purchased a dog from here.
Fast forwarding to present day, my maltese was diagnosed with lymphoma at such a young age. We are 99.9% positive that this was genetically passed down from his breeder. We also really think that the pups are coming from puppy mills. Ever since we brought him home as a baby, he was always coughing, but being first time pet owners we didn't think much of it. But it all makes sense now...
We are currently trying to fight for his life because we developed such a deep relationship with him and he's been always treated as a part of our family. That said, this review is to WARN future dog owners that are about to enter this store to think again...If you care about dogs, you should not even consider purchasing a dog here or step foot in the store. I'm disgusted by the owners of the store and question their humanity and morales. How can you possibly do this while putting on a smile. Oh yes of course..all you care about is money. I do not support this and please don't purchase a dog here..Helpful 32Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lara Yagmur O.Harlem, New York, NY03Dec 14, 2022
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! DON'T SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!!! My husband and I were looking for Klee Kai and I found this place, I called and they told us that we can come and check the puppies whenever we want. We went there it was like 1.5 hour drive. The guy told us that we need an appointment to go in but he got us in anyways because the place was empty. First we got in and saw all the puppies in tiny cages, ( like the smallest cages you can imagine) when we asked to play with the puppy he told us that we can only hold them and they are not allowed to be on the floor, which is crazy because puppies were 4 months old when I asked for the reason he told me that they are still so small to be on the ground which is crazy, any dog owner will know that 4 months old for a puppy to walk on the ground. Then they gave us the puppy to hold, poor puppy was terrified, she was shaking like crazy then I asked to hold another one, and that one did the same think, shaking like crazy and whenever I touch him to calm him down I realized that he was afraid of my hand. Then i asked him why they were so afraid. He told me it was normal, but guys we've been to a lot of pet shop and have never experienced such a thing, puppies were always playful and happy to be out of their cage. My husband even saw a sleeping puppy and thought he was dead because the place feels like it's possible to see a dead puppy. This place was very creepy and I don't know what they are doing to their animals but the animals are terrified of humans because of them. It was such an horrible experience. I am really sorry for the animals and can't understand how can a business like this still survives. Poor puppies.

My husband and I went to this store to see if they have cavachon. The owner said they do have some cavalier mixed breed and requested the employee to bring a specific cavalier mix from the BASEMENT. I was SO surprised when I heard this because looking at all these puppies trapped in the cage, I could imagine how poorly these pups are treated in the basement.
Once the employee brought the puppy out to show us, I was surprised once again. The puppy looked super sick. He looked like he did not have any energy and also was not able to make any eye contact. He also smelled really bad. My husband and I did not know what to say. We both felt so sorry for him and for all the puppies trapped in this store. My heart is so broken and I am still in shock. Do not support this business..Helpful 19Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Luis G.Manhattan, New York, NY072Jan 4, 2020
I found my best friend here and honestly I really live the store because it's surrounded by puppies. The only thing which is why I rate it 4 stars is because of the overprice on the puppies. They're around 1,500. If you want an exotic one it's around 2,100 which is what I got my dog for but the lowest price will probably be around 1,000.

I brought my Pomeranian here. I came to this store because my friend brought her Pomeranian here. My visit at Empire Puppies to me was great. The worker greeted us and told us if we needed help to let him know.
I knew the first visit I just wanted to look around and see what is out there. The worker didn't hover over us or tried to sell us a puppy. He answered all my questions and gave me his card when I'm ready. I went home and thought it over for a few days. The second visit the worker remembered me. I picked out Toby that day. The worker went to the back to clean him, gave me all his paperworks, medicines, food and pads.
Toby will be turning 9 years old next month. Getting him was and still is one of the best decision I ever made in my life. He is such a great and sweet dog. Everybody loves him.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
