Ember

Oh Ember, you just get us. Back here with our little foodie for the last supper during vacation on the island, and once again, our meal blew us away. This is still St. Simon's finest chef and kitchen team at work. Thanks Ham for steering us to some current favorites. Don't miss a dinner here: it's simply perfect.

WOW. Dinner at Ember was EVERYTHING: biodynamic wines, craft beer, small plates, and entrees were all out of this world. High marks for the pork rillette with pickled vegetables, margherita and meatzilla firebreads(thin and perfect pizzas) and the snapper overs barley risotto. We were here with our 2-1/2 year old budding foodie who was thrilled too. We will be dreaming about this meal and back here on every next trip to SSI. Our server, Adam J, was awesome. Helpers, move Ember to the top of your radar.

Ember is our go to whenever we want an incredible dinner, at home or dining out. I can't remember if we've been going there for 5 or 6 years. The point is that in that period of time, we have never been disappointed in the quality of the meal, or the friendliness of the staff.

During the past couple of years, post pandemic, lots of restaurants appear to have undergone major staffing changes. Ember seems to have remained relatively unchanged. It's very nice to walk into the friendly environment and see the same smiling faces at the door, in the kitchen, and servers. At times the chefs have been gracious enough to try and explain to me how to "try" and prepare the foods the way that they do, but my attempts always fall short. Carry out food is never as good as it is in the restaurant. Ember comes really, really close. When we get back into town and don't feel like cooking, or going out, dinner from there hits the spot

The Ceasar Salad, is the best I've ever had. It dosn't matter what kind of fish is being served, it will be magical. The roasted vegetables, steaks, and "fire bread" pizzas are incredible. Their cauliflower pizza crust is much better than I've had anywhere else.

If you want the Best Dining Experience on the island, do yourself a favor. Skip the tourist traps. Ember will put them to shame

We just went a few times for happy hour. Great deals for wine and about 5 or 6 appetizers. Caesar salad, brie and tacos were all very good.

First time visitors. Immediately when you walk through the door the ambience invites you in. Dim lighting with a beautiful bar and pizza oven. We sat at the bar top and the bartender was so friendly and prompt. The happy hour specials were amazing for food (until 6:00) and drinks (until 6:30). Beer was $2 off and house wine was $4. Cesar salads were also $5 which we tried and enjoyed (romaine is grilled). We also had the $5 tacos which came with 2 and were loaded with Brussels sprouts and goat cheese, very rich in flavor! The star of the show was the pizza. We went with a pepperoni and it was also delicious , especially if you live simple wood fired pizzas. The sauce was unreal. Overall we really enjoyed our time here and would go back in an instant.

The great place to celebrate! We were able to celebrate my sister's 58th birthday here before we ended our weekend trip, and we are all happy we were able to get reservations.
The ambience, decor and service, met our expectation for "fine dining" and the food provides a delicious experience sealing the deal.

The poundcake is the best dessert- we all got a second order to go.

Ember is one of my favorite restaurants on St. Simons Island! The food and service are always great and the ambiance is perfect for a great evening out with friends or date night!

I love that many of the menu items are locally sourced! You can choose from delicious pork, seafood, or beef dishes that are paired with tasty vegetables and sides. So many unique options that change with the seasons.

I love going to Ember and trying different masterpieces the chef has created!

Can taste the wood fire and farm freshness. Food tastes like a real chef works here. Marg pizza is delicious- not quite Neapolitan but still tasty. Service, ambiance, and food super fancy. Loved it all and will be back for sure!

Food was amazing. Service was super prompt and very friendly. Very accommodating for my GF needs. House infused drinks were outstanding. The wood fire pizza oven adds a fun element. It also has a cute bar and music lounge attached, and a nice outdoor area.

We liked it so much on our visit that we went there twice!
Our first visit was in the dining room. It has a great upscale ambiance while still feeling relaxed and casual. We had fried pork rinds as an appetizer and they came with jalapeño lime juice and dipping sauce-so tasty!
We both had the fish of the day and it was absolutely amazing - we ate past the point of being full because we didn't want to waste a bite! We took the Icebox Cake and the Peanut Butter Pie home for dessert and they were both solid choices. On our way out we noticed that they had trivia on Monday nights so we came back. So much fun! The trivia guy was great and kept the game moving along well with some fun extra giveaways along the way. We sat at the bar in front of the pizza oven and had a great time bantering with the guys behind the counter & watching them (and the kitchen) work. We both commented that it appeared to be one of the most well run kitchens we've seen. Every with the rush they kept the food coming and made sure it went immediately to the tables. It seemed like a really collaborative effort and everyone seemed to be having a good time.
We had crispy Brussels Sprouts (YUM!) and split a wood fired pizza (The Calypso) which was more than enough food. We tried the Mango Crème Brûlée for dessert which we also enjoyed.
I highly recommend Monday trivia, but overall this was one of the best restaurants we went to during our stay!

We had the Hogs in a Quilt as the appetizer and they were amazing!
The steak was very very good , definitely the best steak on the island and in the Brunswick area.

The service was spectacular and the overall vibe was great. Our party greatly enjoyed the pizza and short rib entree. The Caesar salad was phenomenal. Sadly the steak, ordered medium rare, was an extremely tough piece of meat. Alone the steak deserved a one star rating.
