About the Business
Established in 1899. Elizabethtown College was chartered in 1899 by members of the Church of the Brethren who were interested in establishing an institution of higher education for their denomination in eastern Pennsylvania. Founded by the Church of the Brethren, Elizabethtown unhesitatingly supports the free expression of religion for all individuals and groups. In addition, the College is committed to providing an environment that affirms human differences and similarities by encouraging students to examine, recognize and promote diversity related to national origin, religion, race/ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, age and socioeconomic status. In 1993, the Church of the Brethren relinquished its governance role at the College. Since then, Elizabethtown has been governed by an independent Board of Trustees. Elizabethtown College (also known as E-town College) is a private liberal arts college located in south-central Pennsylvania.

Definitely better than people realize. - Alissa C.PA, PA081Nov 7, 2022
It's okay, the food could be better. Schlosser dorm where I reside has mold in the washers and showers, so that's not fun. You cannot control your own a/c, the building controls it. Living here is not fun at all. Having classes here is better than leaving here

As a member of the class of 76 and a Trustee I am very bias but for the same reasons I came here as a student are the same now as I serve on the Board. From the first moment I stepped on campus I felt welcomed. Which was different from other colleges I had visited. My four years here are still a time of my life I relish. Asked to serve as a Trustee has been an honor. I have been on other boards where the focus tended to be on the board members themselves. Here it is all about the students, faculty and the college. Extremely refreshing. Plus I received an excellent education. Going on to medical school and now enjoying my own practice in Virginia. Definitely a school I would be happy to recommend to anyone.

I love this place. My daughter goes to school here and I love that she is here. This place understands what it's like to send kids away and takes responsibility to guide them and keep them safe. Kudos Jays!
