Have now bought cleats here twice, and had a great experience both times. After screwing myself over ordering new cleats online and them not fitting me at all (side note, why are companies making it harder to put on cleats? And why are they trying in so many ways to get rid of laces? Laces work, y'all!) I have officially decided to only buy cleats in store unless I am replacing a pair with the exact same pair.
Elite mostly seems to have Adidas and Nike (or at least that's all I recognized there); good selection of all sorts of sizing and they include cleats for both grass and turf. Both times, the guy working there during the day has been really helpful and patient with pulling shoes out of the back for me to try on. Even gave me a soccer ball to experiment kicking around. (Did not take him up on this - I play ultimate frisbee, but was too embarrassed to say so.)
Yes, prices might be a little bit more expensive, but I think that is an okay premium to pay for an independent store and great service. Will be back after this next pair goes kaput!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - char l.San Francisco, CA0331Dec 7, 2023
Rene was very helpful. Another competitor recommended this store and it was the best suggestion. I would definitely recommend this store and Rene.

Best soccer store in San Francisco, plus the staff is great - very friendly! Elite Sports is now my "go to soccer store" in the City.

I like that they have a huge variety of soccer jerseys. I bought my 2017-18 Barcelona jersey here.
They were out of the Messi 10 dorsal, so they wrote down my number and they called me a few days later to let me know that they had it in stock again.
I brought my shirt back and got the dorsal on it.
The staff is super super nice and they make you feel welcome and comfortable.
I'll come back to get the dorsal for my other Barça jerseys :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kara S.Chicago, IL426825Mar 17, 2021
Important to support these family owned business before they are gone. Please support. Resist the urge to support Bezos again snd again. These people are kind and need your support.

This is the best soccer store in SF, hands down.
(I should say that my favorite store is Soccer Post in Alameda, but in SF this is the spot).
I play soccer and like wearing soccer gear and most places are horrible.
If you go to a Big Five, Sports Authority,Lombardi Sports or Sports Basement you'll get cleats that kids in AYSO wear and you'll MAYBE have a couple of different jerseys (most likely ManU, Real Madrid and Barcelona). Even that's a MAYBE.
At elite sports you'll get soccer players who sell a wide variety of soccer gear. When I walk in there every now and then the guys are messing around with the balls, which proves to me they have passion for the game which translates into knowledge about teams and the gear they sell. If you go to one of the chain places I promise they won't have a clue who the teams are and who the players are.
They have a decent selection of cleats in the middle and higher end range. Personally, I'm into the higher end nike cleats which they don't really carry as much of (think Nike Mercurial vapors @ $180).
The prices are slightly cheaper than retail, but their clearance section has good stuff. I bought a nike hooded sweater today that retails for $65 a niketown for $25 so I was a happy camper.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Firstclass F.Oakland, CA1853Jun 13, 2020
If I could give this place negative stars..
Management was rude as fuck
Store was dirty as fuck
Oh yeah and
THERE ARE NO REFUNDS
EVEN FOR CASH!
they're selling 30$ Adidas pants for 60.. they ripped all the tags off the apparel so you can't see how you're getting ripped off..
This place is in the way and too pricey
I'll b glad when they go out of business and put a better shop there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 50002199336Feb 2, 2008
I haven't played soccer in years.
I feel like I haven't run in years. (more like I know I haven't ,but it hurts to admit that, in a sentence without parentheses)
And so when my co-worker suggested I be a sub for her rec-soccer league this weekend - I was down.
I was nervous the whole week leading up to this Saturday about playing. Worried that I'd collapse mid-game. Worried that I'd miss some big kick or block. Worried that I'd look like an idiot out there. Worried that I'd just plain old suck.
And so in anxious preparation for the big day I decided to get myself suited up. I first hit up Adidas for soccer equipment, but was pretty disappointed. Most of their cleats were too pricey, and or they didn't have my size.
I was excited then, when I stumbled upon Elite Sports on Yelp. With three glowing reviews from people who seem to know their soccer - I figured it had to be worth trying out. Plus it was Bart accessible.
As soon as I arrived, I recognized one of the staff. He was friendly, personable, and most of all helpful. I told him I was looking for some affordable soccer gear, and he made sure to find me comfortable, "hot," reasonably priced cleats and sturdy shin-guards.
Throughout the shoe-trying on process the staff were offering up suggestions, while I joked with them about my upcoming day of doom.
I also picked up a well-priced pair of shorts and socks on my way out. The shorts fit well - but I wasn't too impressed with their female selection of shorts. Having grown up in New Jersey - - my soccer shorts have always been short (probably obscenely short).
Elite Sports only seemed to offer up long, slightly dowdy male shorts.
I mentioned the lack of female selection to the staff, and they explained that they had been very busy lately so were hoping to be getting some new stock in soon.
So....
If you're looking for some quality soccer wear - I'd highly suggest checking Elite Sports out. Also if you're involved in some sort of rec-team already - you can register your team here and receive discounts of up to 15 and 20 percent off. Not bad.

Oh and the game....
I looked fly...well.......moderately dorky today as I made my way onto the field in my glowing white garb - but I was comfortable, and everything fit perfectly.
And though I probably spent about 10 minutes at most on the field, and practically coughed up a lung in the process - I'm planning on suiting up again for another soccer game in two weeks.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0 - Kassandra V.Mission, San Francisco, CA25133Nov 16, 2016
I feel like this was probably part my fault but how do you not know how to count ? My total was 59.78 my sister gave her 52 dollars and I wasn't sure how much she needed left because I was on the phone so I gave her a 20 dollar bill. I got 5 dollars when I should of got 12.22 and 22 cents back... how ? and the 5 that she gave me aren't even on the receipt saying I gave her $60 when really I gave her $72... if my total was 59.78 that means I needed to give her cents if I "paid" $60 this is totally not acceptable !

Bought a soccer ball on 11/25/15 it had ripped by 12/16/15. I called the store today and ask to exchange it, they can't help because the manager is only in Monday - Friday. Not great service- I'll update the review Monday. But, I'll by my soccer balls at sports basement from now on. The staff is nice and they do have a better selection on shoes then the box shops.
Update- went to the store to EXCHANGE! The soccer ball that ripped after 3 week of use. That store will not exchange, I hv to deal with manufacture. That's pretty lame and no, I won't buy a ball here again
Well, I went in one more time to see, if they can help and I got a new ball. Not sure, where the disconnect was, maybe I was just not clear enough in the exchange vs refund.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 21, 2015Previous reviewBought a soccer ball on 11/25/15 it had ripped by 12/16/15.
