The food was good! I ordered the Chaufa de Pescado and Mixed it with their green salsa plus added a touch of tartar for the fish, which was delicious. I haven't tried a lot of different Peruvian joints in the valley, but including the fantastic service this joint is by far the best.

I was visiting Utah, and craving for Peruvian food, I ordered arroz chaufa and ceviche. I know now where to go every time being in town.

If you love Peruvian food or want to try something new then this is the place to go! I've tried a few Peruvian places and this by far is my favorite for lomo saltado.
The lomo saltado is juicy sliced steak with french fries and rice. The mariscos picantes has oysters, calamari, and shrimp along with rice and potatoes. The Aji (salsa) is spicy and goes well with any dish.
Overall, the place is clean, friendly customer service, and their menu has variety of dishes. Totally worth trying!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pablo D.Rancho Santa Margarita, CA10022Sep 10, 2022
This is hands down the best Peruvian restaurant in Salt Lake City. Do it and order Inca cola

We ordered in from El Rocoto and it was very delicious. I ordered the grilled chicken, with salad, fries and rice, my husband ordered the Lomo Saltado, and we got a simple chicken nugget kids meal for my son. The meals arrived with a green, possibly chimichuri, sauce and a white mayonnaise type sauce. The green sauce was a bit spicy for this wimpy mouth, but I loved the white sauce. The gravy/sauce that was on the Lomo Saltado blended very well with the fried and rice and was also delicious. The grilled chicken was flavored very well and the edges were great, but the chicken was a bit rubbery toward the center. Overall I would try El Rocoto again and would also recommend it.

Walked in for lunch and the place is packed. Barcelona vs Liverpool soccer was playing on the tv with lots of people cheering. We had the 1/4 of a chicken, fries, salad, causa, lomos saltado. The causa was so good with spicy mashed potatoes, nice pieces of chicken packed inside garnished with tasty white sauce, carrots & peas. It's my favorite dish. I asked for the haenciena sauce which was spicy & cheesy, exactly as it should be. The roasted chicken was seasoned wonderfully, The skin was delicious! fresh hot fries, that I dipped in the green aji Amarillo sauce so good! Fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, carrot in the salad. Excellent! There was 1 server and she was doing everything possible to make sure everyone was attended to.

Used to be $10.49 less than a year ago and now $17.95. I know help is scarce, but how can you justify a $7.50/80% mark up on Lomo Saltado at less than a $4 00 food cost? $18. For a plate! This isn't a 3 star Micheline Restaurant!

It's my second time trying Peruvian food and this time, my mind was blown away.
I ordered the mussels and the lomito a jugo tacu tacu dish. If the mussels were treated like shooters, hands down, it would've been 5 stars. I had to lift them with my fork to "debone" it from the shell. But the green sauce that they provide is a spicy cilantro flavored sauce and its sooooo good.
The lomito a jugo tacu tacu ($14) is a classic Peruvian dish as refried beans with rice with steak and potatoes. The French fries kept throwing me off, as I'm used to them being at fast food joints. They were cut thick and soaked up the juices from the steak. Delicious! Tacu tacu reminded me of the beans and rice I would eat everyday for 10 days while traveling in Costa Rica, but it was different in a good way! The rice was a bit soggy but it was still really good!
I'll definitely come back again. Thanks for feeding me!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
