El Rio Mexican & American Food

Came in today for a lunch to go and ordered the shrimp cocktail. Wow, so amazing and huge. I love this place and Sarah is wonderful. Thank you for the amazing lunch.

Traditional Mexican cuisine with homemade touches - fresh chips and a friendly ambiance. If your comfort food of choice is enchiladas, come here - they have several versions available - with a variety of meats and accompaniments on their combo menu. As You might notice, the only "ethnic" types of restaurants in this small, isolated community are caucasian (ie, meat heavy and Euro-centric) and Mexican! So glad for this down-home spot.

Excellent service & food! I was impressed with how friendly and fast the service was during high traffic weekend! Vibe inside was clean and great too.

Ordered to go dinner, we both hot the chicken enchiladas- one with green sauce the other with red. Plenty of meat and shredded with good flavor, not just boiled, glad they seasoned and spent extra effort. Will go again when we are in town.

The place is nice , clean and excellent service. I was there on Sunday and both servers were amazing. super nice and took care of my order very fast

This was an OLD SCHOOL restaurant open window stand with excellent milk shakes and burgers. But the COVID HOAX Closed and Shuttered many Mom & Pop shops.

Moved from down by the park area in kernville to across from james market.
Excellent food, good prices, service excellent, waitress was awesome . Definitely go again when we are back up in kernville camping .

You can sit in the restaurant or order to go from the window. We ordered to go.
Mexican pizza, taco, chicken quesadilla and horchata $35. The Mexican pizza was a soggy mess that was thrown away. Quesadilla was decent as it should be for $11.50
The only thing that was enjoyed was the horchata.
Don't think we would eat here again.

One of my favorites for local Mexican food. Excellent enchiladas & their salsa is great, too.

First time in kernville I really enjoyed coming here . Must try machaca plate and their horchata. Service was great
