We just moved down to Castle Rock and wanted to try a Mexican restaurant. We were exhausted and decided to pick up food to go. Everything we got was delicious and we will definitely be back.
The one downfall was that we didn't get chips with the to go.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 30, 2019
Average restaurant on the south side of Castle Rock. Situated in a strip mall with plenty of parking. This restaurant is fairly basic, they did appear to have Mexican spices for sale which made me think the food would be seasoned well.
We were greeted with chips and salsa. Chips were fine, but the salsa just tasted like tomatoes. Maybe it was an off day? I got the three soft tacos with rice and beans. My food was good, but the coworkers who got the smothered burrito thought it was pretty average and could use some more flavor. Keep in mind the soft drinks are by the can or bottle. So no free refills here. Overall the restaurant was fine. If I was in a pinch, I would stop by but otherwise I would look elsewhere.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 11, 2020
Found this place by accident and I'm so happy I did. Automatically being welcome at the door and presented with chips and salsa at the table " Yes my fav!" The employees were really friendly and the food with out a doubt was Phenomenal. Couldn't make up my mind so I simply placed a finger on the menu and allowed destiny to make the decision for me. I got the this cute looking pig lava rock that was heated and placed inside was steak, chicken, shrimp, and cheese all on top of this tomato mild sauce along with rice, beans, and corn tortillas. This place hit the spot and gave me more then expected. I can't wait to come back! If I could make any changes I definitely would of preferred homemade tortillas but that's just a preference

Good, authentic Mexican food ... reasonable prices. This strip mall restaurant used to be a Mexican food market, transforming a year ago into a restaurant with a small grocery area in the front.
I had the crispy tacos with machaca ($8.99) and rice and beans. The tortillas were handmade and fried on site, not store-bought and heated in the oven. A side of guacamole cost only $1 although we did have to pay for the chips and salsa which were also fresh and made in house. My son had the beef enchiladas with homemade green tomatillo sauce ($9.99) which were were delicious and filling.
At under $25 for dinner for two, El Korita is a CombatCritic BEST VALUE and should not be missed if craving Mexican food and in or passing through the Castle Rock area.

This place is so so good! I have been very dissatisfied and disappointed in all of the Mexican food in Castle Rock this far. We haven't tried everyone, but we have tried most. My husband and I went in for a late lunch on a Wednesday and we were pleasantly surprised! I had chicken fajitas and he had the carne asada plate. The fajitas were fantastic. The meat and vegetables were seasoned so well and cooked perfectly. The carne asada was SOOOO good. Both the rice and the beans were great as well. Portion size was perfect. Instead of a massive amount of crappy food, is was the perfect portion of great food. The ONLY down side I can report is I do prefer tortillas and tortilla chips to be made in house, but the main dishes far exceeded my expectations. Service was great! We will be back again and again. I will take photos next visit.

Jennifer,
Thanks for your recent visit and support to local business. There has been a high demand on home made tortillas, we will definitely look into it. We hope to see you and your husband back soon! - Jamey D.Littleton, CO1231Feb 7, 2021
OK, 2nd time eating here, after living in Castle Rock for 6 years (most of the times we've tried to go, they have been closed) . Just like the 1st time they didn't get the order right. Sure we could have pulled everything out in the lobby to check but it was pretty simple. Instead of a chili relleno and a green chili bowl we got a chimichanga of some sort. The green chili has 0 heat, and that's unfortunate. The half of the order that was right was OK.
Finally, got a chance to eat the food and these are freeze-dried beans. We use a lot of this type of food for camping and this is freeze dried food that wasn't properly hydrated. We've had the same experience while camping but for $40 it's totally unacceptable. I have a bunch of 10lb cans of these same beans in the garage.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kate B.Burbank, CA572121Jul 4, 2018
I'm from L.A and I'm pretty picky about my Mexican food.
As soon as I tried the fresh made salsa and chips..I knew I was home.
The Enchilada lunch special for $10 was delicious and spicy.
I'll be back very soon.
Service was A+.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - derek c.Denver, CO1866May 16, 2021
Food was average. Took forever to take our order. The Diet Coke was flat, I asked to have them take the coke off the bill and they still charged for it. Won't be going back.

Where is some decent Mexican grub??Hard to find, especially in a small town. El Korita didn't have the most flashy appearance, or lines out the door, but the food and service tell another story. Excellent!! So thankful to have a place for the family to enjoy a tasty authentic Mexican dinner. If the kids dont want tacos (don't know why they wouldn't) the menu offers Mac n cheese and even pizza. Tried all the meats, wet burrito, enchiladas, and many other dishes, all top notch. Can't beat the thin warm chips and hot bean dip they start you off with (complimentary)
Love this place and it's workers. You can tell they have a love for their food and friendliness. Much like eating in someone's home. Thank you El KoritaHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
