Not impressed.
The place has changed name for the 3rd-4th in 2 years. The name listed here, Ekklesia, isn't correct, it is now called Lake View.
Fries seem to have been made at lunch time and it is 6pm. Only can cook burgers medium. And the BLT wasn't all that good, and I don't know how you can mess that up, but they pretty much did.
The onion rings were the high point and they were only a 7/10.
The view is nice and the service was good but those never fix boring, cold, tasteless food.
We'll give the them one more chance, but I'm not at all hopeful.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pachoulii L.Fenton, MI76144116Dec 29, 2016Updated review
Okay, so now that they have their liquor license we thought we'd give it another try and is confirmed, The only thing you wanna get here is The Heck Out!
The mac and cheese was good except for the long hair in it, the burger was Ok (they're fried not grilled) if the bun was not moldy and it took 35 minutes to get our food (and we were the only customer outside of the bar).
The beer was yummy!
I hope you guys get better cuz we live on the lake and love boating here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 21, 2016Previous reviewWe've been here three times since it's become Ekklesia. Cute name altho hard for people to remember and our visits just got worse and worse.
First time - August 2016 - We brought 2 other couples. Came by boat. Ate outside. Found out upon ordering there's no liquor license. Had burgers, not bad, not great.
Second time - September 2016 - brought 1 other couple. Ordered pizza & salad. Salad tasted like it was fresh from a bag. Pizza was not great. Northshores pizza is a 10 in comparison. Still no liquor license.
Third & last time - October 2016 - French onion soup had a dead fly in it. I'm Not kidding. I've never had a fly in my mouth before. I felt bad for the waiter, he was very nice but having to spit out a dead fly is hard to overcome. Couldn't eat anything else. Still no liquor license.
I don't know how they're staying in business. They were closed most of this summer. I wish they'd do well because they seem nice plus we live on the lake and it used to be a fun place to bring friends but now it's too embarrassing and unpredictable. - Bobbie D.Howell, MI011Sep 22, 2017
I was hesitant after reading the unfavorable reviews but was told there is a new owner so I decided to try the restaurant/bar for myself. I was pleasantly pleased. They have a band on Friday and Saturday and our whole group had a great time. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We ordered a couple of wood fire pizzas and both were very good. In fact the best pizza I have eaten in awhile. Lots of cheese and generous toppings. I'm picky about my crust and that was cooked to perfection. I definitely will be going back. The new owner obviously cares and it shows.

Probably the worst service I've ever had at a dining experience. Waitress was trashy and clueless

This place is currently called Lakeview, fyi. Nice location on the water. The food, however? How
can I put this nicely? I can't, because everyone in my party agreed it was TERRIBLE. Easily top 3 worst restaurants I've ever been to. We ordered poutine, French onion soup, and nachos. Soup was passable but the rest nearly inedible. How do you mess up nachos? By using zero seasoning on the meat, very little cheese. Just bad. My niece said her poutine tasted like school food! LOL! The proprietors should be embarrassed. Did I mention the flies? Smh.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Daniel L.Swartz Creek, MI27Oct 27, 2016First to Review
Save your money. Same problems as the last owners that were there. Worst fish and chips that I've ever had anywhere. This place will be shutting down shop in no time.

Horrible service and the food was barely edible! I am so disappointed because last time we were here it was great!

This place is absolutely horrible. The food was bad, even for the low expectations I had. The wait staff acts like they've never been trained and I have seen the bartenders groping each other behind the bar. Completely unprofessional and terribly run. Save yourself the time and money and avoid at all costs
