One of the best book selections in the nation.
What a poetry collection: Eileen Myles, Philip Schultz, Ada Limon, Ross Gay, two whole bookcases.
What a fiction collection: Tokarczuk, Lispector, Jane Gardam, Julie Otsuka, Ernaux.
Also drama, memoir, history, Masha Gessen, the translation of Montaigne that Shakespeare had read.
It's like going to a very, very well read person's house. And being introduced to what is good and current, books that are alive because they're being read. And becoming inspired and hopeful about the world.
It's an experience coming to this oasis.
Very different from going to a big place like Powells or Strand because the owner has amazing, extremely wide ranging, and discriminating yet diverse tastes.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joe W.Orlando, FL66172Oct 21, 2022
If I could leave zero stars, I would. Enough with the COVID theater. The sign on the door says that they requires masks in October of 2022. You can have your virtue signaling, I'll spend money elsewhere.

This book store is simply tremendous--one of the best in all of Vermont. It carries a range of topics, from Vermont writers, to nature writers, graphic novels, poetry, fiction, history, biography, and on and on. The authors featured are incredibly varied, representing a range of voices and perspectives. The children's section, YA section, and middle grade fiction section are simply excellent. Within the children's section are topics: biography, poetry, nonfiction. Wow. Alongside of books, the shop has a lovely selection of cards, stationary and journals. Be sure to stop--you will have a hard time leaving!

What a fantastic book shop! Such a nice eclectic selection to choose from. I could spend hours in here. We were passing through and didn't get to spend nearly enough time in here. Bonus of getting to meet Zodiac, a beautiful 14 yr old Golden who didn't want us to leave. Would come back in a heart beat.

A really small, local bookstore with great gifts. The kids section is pretty awesome, with lots of cool toys and trinkets! There is a very beautiful painting behind the cash register in Ebenezer Books of downtown Johnson, VT. If your in the area it is worth a short trip.

This is a very nice local bookstore, not a mega-chain store, so I always go in to just browse around, not for something specific (although they can order just about any specific book you might want if they don't have it). The staff has been very pleasant every time I've gone in, and I'll happily keep supporting them whenever I'm in VT!

A snowy day, and what an amazing time we had dropping in at Ebenezer Books. Great selection and if you don't like to pay retail there is a terrific used and excellent bargain section.
