I have lived here about two weeks, so far it's ok, quiet. Only issue is other tenants smoking right outside our window, cigarettes and marijuana, it enters our apt and now my visitors think I'm a stoner. As an ex cigarette smoker I understand how it sucks to have to go outside to smoke but now with you right outside my window smoking.....I am a smoker again. I have to say we did mention to a few tenants that the smoke wafted into are windows and they (not all) have since moved to the curb to smoke. I have not mentioned this to management yet but if my work starts drug testing.........
Did I mention the herd of shopping carts....neighbors shop daily?!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jeff L.San Jose, CA4406Aug 18, 2020
Management does not respond to emails and they do not clean or repair the common areas when it is needed.

This review is for the property manager. What a piece of work. He does whatever he can to avoid phone calls and NOT show a unit. We called almost 10 times with messages and received no reply. Whoever owns this property needs to seriously reconsider his employment.

The main office people are very rude and completely stupid. They will not allow you to schedule an appointment to view their different floor plans at all. Because they are just so "prestigious", they can't have their time waisted. The conversation was so bad I felt like a used car salesman who had no idea how to do his job was talking to me. Let alone I told him I was separating the military and my schedule is completely up in the air. He said I was wasting his time, so I told him to go fuck himself. Please fire this person. The one who has been apparently working there for like 8 years and replace him with someone more competent.... A water bottle with a microphone could answer the phone better than this asshole..

This place looked pretty dang nice. The leasing manager showed me two one bedroom apartments. The smaller of the the two was pretty spacious and would suit me just fine as far as space. That is, its enough room for a single male with no kids or pets. The only real drawback to this particular room that I could see was that it was next to a street with a fair amount of traffic. It's not particularly loud, but it's noticable.
The landscaping is wonderful and the pool looked real nice, i'm sure it'd be a great place to cool off when the temperatures rise.
The larger one bedroom looked nice. The current tenants were in the latter stages of clearing out it looked like. It was located near the pool. I didn't really bother looking out the windows to check the views. It seemed like too much space for me, though. It seemed like it was more suited for a couple. I don't have nearly enough stuff to fill all the closet space this one has.
Overall this place looks really nice. You have a shopping center directly across the street and the beach is just a block or two away. It's four stars because it's not AMAZAZING, you know? But it looks solid, I'd definatly consider living hereHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bernie S.Berkeley, CA023Jul 8, 2016Updated review
Cool folks, attentive service, secure location.
Had a nice time here and I never had to struggle with anyone to get basic repairs.
They were also fair about deposit return and any questions.
And the best thing of all: they keep the landscaping lookin great! I wish the fountains could have been restored to their original glory, but at least the gardens were well kept.
I'll miss the place AND the people! Truly!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 28, 2011Previous reviewI've only recently moved into the place but the move-in was made easy, especially given that the unit was rather suddenly available and needed a lot of TLC. Management is really excellent, VERY SEASONED, responsive to follow-up and truly interested in creating a long-term viable living investment for new tenants. Some residents don't like the fact that the office is only open a few hours a week, but I actually like that aspect - they're not in your face or policing one's tenancy, but have proven that they ARE around and ready to help in emergencies. Ashima and Shalabh do a great job with vetting problems, explaining things, and following up, from the "sale" process all the way AFTER move-in. I wish more managers/owners were like them. While we all have our own lives, I'm encouraged by the fact that they live on the property and clearly have such a vast experience with people and organization. What else? I haven't yet had a chance to try the pool, but it's always very clean and apparently heated for the tragically cool Bay area summers, so that's another plus. Also, they do a really good job of keeping the place clean, and peaceful. I especially love the fountains after hectic work hours! The neighbors, at least in my immediate vicinity, are also very decent...The building is not a college frat house, in other words. It's a well tended, safe, harmonious, affordable and cheery complex for those who like to live in buildings. One does not feel as though one is a sardine with dollar signs in a can here, and I turned down two very competitively priced offers from other places to give this place. I'm glad I did!

I have only been living at The Driftwood Apartment Homes for less than 3 months and it has been the worst experience of my life. The website make Driftwood look great, however this property is poorly put together and I can hear every single footstep my neighbors makes above my apartment The foundation of the ceiling and upstairs neighbors floor is ridiculously squeaky. They allow anyone to take over the parking spot that is included with your rent and my water has been off an entire weekend without any kind of remorse from Driftwood The on-site managers are very carefree and useless. I wouldn't recommend Driftwood properties to hard working people because you can't really rest here at this property

I have lived in Driftwood for nearly 5 years. Management keeps things nice, my neighbors are cool, and Driftwood is remarkably well located in terms of beach, shopping center, fuel, a hospital, etc. Yes, you have to think ahead to keep your laundry card with enough money to do the wash, but that is a small thing. Reason for 4 stars - it is an older complex and the walls are a bit thin. That said, the neighbors are for the most part mature and will work with you on noise control. I like the place a lot.Really good value for the money.

I have lived here for only a month, but I have NO complaints what-so-ever. The manager gets back to me quickly when there is anything that I need, I feel safe and it's really gorgeous here.
It's pretty quiet and roomy. I would recommend it to anyone :)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mona E.Alameda, CA06Jan 4, 2014
When moving in we were promised a $150 refund from AT&T if we get our Internet from them. We therefore went with expensive AT&T and now after 5 months we still haven´t received the refund. Apparently the paperwork first was lost and after handing it in again we haven´t heard anything... This place is such a scam.
We only wish we weren´t stuck in a 1-year lease, especially now that we can barely use our bathroom due to the mold (pictures).
I can NOT recommend for anyone to move here!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
