Dr Howard H Oifer

We have been going to Dr. Oifer for close to 20 years. He is a great doctor to work with and seems to take a real interest in you and just not as a patient. He always asks about our son and what he is up to, who is also a patient. The staff is very friendly and helpful. In the last year I messed up and did not order my daily lenses in time and ran out. I called the office and they ordered me new lenses, and also gave me a 10 pack sample to hold me over while my lenses were shipped. I think most of Roswell uses him for eye care.

While I have been going to Dr. Oifer's office for many years, my most recent visit really put me off. Dr. Oifer is a really good guy and I like his style, but the young lady who started the exam lacked any sense of congeniality or "bedside manner". Calling me back for the initial measurements and retinal scans, she never introduced herself (which is why I can't reference her by name here). She never explained what she was going to do, but instead simply barked her commands... "Sit here, move there, get closer, etc." At one point, I asked if the image I was looking was supposed to be in focus to which she replied, "it will go in and out of focus". I indicated that it had never been in focus, and she said, "ok". That left me wondering if she was even performing the tests correctly.

I get it that she might be busy, but how patients perceive their interactions with every member of the staff really does impact the overall visit and I'll have to really think about whether or not I go back.

I think Dr. Oifer is the best! I have had a very difficult prescription since I was a child, and Dr. Oifer has always gotten it right. His office staff is very friendly and professional. It is best to make an appointment to keep your wait time down, because he takes walk-ins. I am happy to make the drive from Marietta, because Dr. Oifer and his office staff have always done a great job for me.

Dr. Oifer is brilliant and funny. I always feel like I am getting amazing care and direction. I have been going there for 20 years. Great experience. The staff is knowledgeable.

I have to agree with Jerry in his good review - Dr Oifer is the BEST, period. He is one of the best doctors I know, period.

I really hate it when folks review like Kyle, for the staff, etc, which casts a really bad light on the doctor. Like any other doctor's office, make time to wait as the doctor can't control people (patients) any more than anyone else can.

The staff here is super friendly and always happy to help and explain things to me and my 8 yr old son. Dr. Oifer does an excellent job describing my vision changes and factors to help protect my eyes.

I have been to many eye doctors and clinics over the years (from chain to boutique) and this place is by far the friendliest and caring place for my family's eye care.

I'm new to the area, and initially chose Dr. Oifer and Pearle Vision because the office is close to my home, and accepted my insurance. This was truly the best doctor's appointment and visit I have ever had!
Firstly, the staff is extremely pleasant and friendly, particularly, Kelly, Dave, Harvey, and Dr. Oifer. It was as if I had been a patient for years, from the moment they called me back to begin my exam. Dr. Oifer is very thorough and explains things in great detail. We talked about kids, family, my work, his practice. What doctor takes the time to do that, especially with a new patient?
I was there for quite some time, since I was trying out a new contact prescription and purchasing new glasses. (I will clarify that this was not because I was waiting for service, but rather Dr. Oifer wanted to ensure my contacts were comfortable and were the correct prescription, and I was being fitted for my glasses).
Additionally, the staff talks very highly of Dr. Oifer, which says a lot about the company culture and work environment. Some of the team has been there since the practice opened.
By the time I left, I felt like family.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Oifer. I came back after having a less than perfect experience after we moved to NC. Since we get back to Atlanta to visit, I decided to get my eye exam and possible new frames. He was asking me about my wife and family and truly cared. This meant a lot at today's day and age. Given my tastes, I picked out the most expensive pair of frames but just could not pull the trigger since it was not in my budget. After my Specialist offered me a fair discount, I still could not make the decision to buy them. Before leaving, Dr. Oifer came out and told me that he wanted to make me happy and could tell that I really wanted the frames. He totally surprised me and offered a lower price. Wow! I told him that he did not need to do that and I just needed to find another frame that fit my budget. He told me no and that he wanted to do it form me. I knew he was good and that is why I went back to him but to do that for me, I can not thank him enough.
If you want to have the best experience and go to an Eye Physician who cares and goes beyond, then you need to go see Dr. Oifer.

Doctor Oifer is simply the best. He and his staff have always been very personable and professional to me and my family. I would highly recommend them. On many occasions I have bent, sat on, dropped and lost my glasses. Dr. Oifer and staffers have always gone out of their way to help me. Would not think of going anywhere else.

His staff and business is absolutley the best. Everyone in the area knows it as well, so there is a bit of a wait with an appointment. However you will get the best service for your eyes and is definetly worth it.
