Relatively new Turkish place in Wynwood that knocks the cover off the ball with near perfect 5-star food, perfect 5-star service and perfect 5-star ambience. I first went for a Yelp Elite event with freebies to try it out, then went back a couple of days later with clients for more. Yep, it's THAT good.
5-star food. Almost everything is a unique update on traditional eastern Mediterranean dishes. Everyone comes out "meze" style which is more or less Turkish tapas. The chef is from an island just off the coast of Turkey and the food has a sort of crossroads of the world influence. My absolute favorite was the muhammara (red peppers ground with pomegranate and walnuts) from both this visit and the previous event. I even doubled-down for a second order.
Food prices are reasonable for this terrific quality of food and usually expensive neighborhood. With clients it was corporate Amex but even cheap ole' Joe would have gladly paid personally (and will, on future non-client visits...definitely will be a regular spot for me).
5-star service. For a new-ish place, the service runs like a Swiss clock. Even more importantly, there is not a trace of Miami 'tude (Wynwood can sometimes be a little hipper than thou). The staff is enormously friendly, explained the finer points of the food and filled drinks, etc without ever being asked.
5-star ambience. Wynwood is Miami's hipster haven for good reasons: it's very cool, it's filled with interesting things to see and it's brimming with good restaurants. Doya gets the outdoor ambience just right. There is no enclosure wall but an implied boundary with the street in the form of a railing and plants. The whole effect is intimate but also open to fun Wynwood people-watching. Parking in the neighborhood can be tough, so Uber/Lyft is a good idea.
In short: I loved this place so much for a special event that I went back a couple of days later for more!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 9184968069Apr 22, 20241 check-in
Lots of flavors, lots of sharing plates.
I was slightly overwhelmed by all the options and most things seemed new so I was pleased to have ordered in abundance along with our friends to get a chance to try as much as we could. Things were coming out so quickly I barely got photos of it all but everything was delicious. Cocktails are carefully curated and quite creative and the same can be said about the dishes.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Mar 30, 2024
Definitely solid, with a few hiccups here and there though. The drinks menu is absolutely stunning, and I think the team here has put a ton of thought into the aesthetic look of the restaurant.
I'm not going to lie, I found the menu pretty overwhelming for both food and drinks. You see octopus a bunch of times on cold and hot side, etc.
All of the food we ordered was awesome though - I think their chef does a great job. The Muhammara was awesome. I actually really enjoyed the roasted cauliflower (they forgot this and we waited for almost an hour and a half before we realized and said something). Saganaki was tasty, octopus was well cooked and seasoned.
I would say eat the free bread and skip the bread they push on you. It's basically a sad tortilla not exactly the lavash I remember at other Mediterranean restaurants. And it's $8 per serving from what I remember (correct me if I'm wrong lol).
Service I think might have been slightly understaffed when I went - they were great with the water but our actual waiter / waitress was nowhere to be found unless you caught them in the middle of power walking between other tables.
I would return! I feel like it might have been a slightly off night, but the food quality is definitely there. Just smaller things here and there - is it the best Mediterranean restaurant ever? No, BUT it is very pretty, has good drinks and food. Solid for a night out in wynwood.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elizabeth P.Miami, FL6166154Mar 20, 2024
Table of 4
Ambiance /outdoor super nice vibe
Service- good and way too fast
Drinks: best, The Sulton
worst, Doya Gilmet= Dill and a splash of Gin
Cold Meze:
Green Goddess: worth skipping. Basically yogurt and parsley. No resemblence to description on menu.
Hot Meze:
Manti- delicious
Char-Grilled baby wings- bland w/o the extremely spicy sauce but still delicious
Lahmacun- terribly insipid
Baked Feta: Good
Pide with Truffle: Absolutely crave able
Adana Kebap- pressed meat shaped as a kebab,
general consensus, not good.
House cut fries: delicious and real - as for the yogurt- ask for it on the side i/o on top.
Brussels sprout: Delicious
Desserts:
Baklava- oh my God - you must order (3 bite sized pieces per order)
Mastic Pudding: If you feel the need to regurgitate everything ingested this dessert is the bomb- ugh- good luck!
Pro's:
-OutdoorAmbiance is great but in certain areas chairs will bump against each other
-Everything is fast- too fast for me, feels rushed. Most all plates are served at once- leaving little to no table space to eat and enjoy
-Service is good and employees to customer ratio feels like 3:1
Cons:
-Parking is atrocious
-Drinks and food come out fast, way too fast so no time to enjoy drinks or savor food (feels rushed).
-small plates are expensive for portions
Total bill incl. tip 434.00
Included 4 drinks and 9 plates 2 desserts
Average $100.00 p/p
DONT let waiter persuade you into ordering 3 or more plates per person - you will find it to be a wasted over indulgence and a guaranteed stomach explosion. 6-7 plates for a party of 4 is plenty..Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 18, 2024
My favorite restaurant in Miami hands down. Have been here countless times and the food and ambiance never disappoint. Sitting at the bar is a nice casual vibe otherwise sitting outside on a nice night or afternoon is the best. The service can be hit or miss but will continue to come back regardless. The grilled octopus is the best I've had in Miami (we try it every place we go that has it on the menu) and the beet hummus is unmatched. All of the dips are awesome, especially muhamarra and spicy tomato. The only thing I've not loved is the crispy eggplant which was lacking flavor. The calamari, kebab, house fries, and baked feta are all great. Nice selection of wines at a good price and the spritz's and gin and tonics are so good as well. Can't wait to return.

I had high hopes for this restaurant but it just missed the mark. We were seated outside in their gorgeous patio, great ambiance. Our server provided a few recommendations, including the beetroot hummus and the chicken thighs. We also ordered a veggie platter for the hummus and the Greek salad. Everything except the chicken lacked a bit a flavor. The Greek salad is very simple with a generous portion of feta on top. The beetroot hummus had olive oil and pine nuts on top. Both dishes needed a bit of salt. The chicken was incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection. The service was lacking, had to ask multiple times for water and the waiter didn't come over to check on us. Overall pretty subpar experience for it being on the Michelin guide.

Doya provides a delightful dining experience with its contemporary Greek/ modern Aegean Meze cuisine and craft cocktails. The stuffed peppers, branzino, shrimp ouzo, lamb chops, baked feta, and house salad all excelled in taste and presentation. The Apollo cocktail I ordered was particularly outstanding. The restaurant's upscale yet airy atmosphere, complete with a central bar and indoor-outdoor seating, enhances the overall experience!

This place had some really tasty items and great drinks. The service was a bit slow (and not during any high traffic times). I recall the menu being a little overwhelming (but not in a bad way) and our party particularly enjoying the hummus (any of them, including the beet hummus) and other spreads like the muhammara. We didn't care for the bread that there is an up charge for since it was a flatter style bread--we preferred the fluffier bread that comes with the items. The interior is upscale with some personality so this place can be great casual or more formal.

Doya is the go-to spot for Mediterranean vibes in the artsy heart of Wynwood. Ideal for a friend group outing because sharing is caring when it comes to their concept!
As a self-proclaimed Mediterranean cuisine enthusiast, I've tried quite a few mezze options, and Doya holds its own. There are both impressive dishes like moussaka and baked feta and pretty mediocre ones like muhammara, truffle pide, and lahmacun. Their dips are a solid choice: haydari, roasted eggplant dip, green goddess - you will not get wrong.
Among desserts (I've tried pistachio tart, chocolate cake, and baklava), I would recommend pistachio baklava, which is totally authentic and worth the indulgence. Others? Not so much; save those calories for the baklava.
The atmosphere here is enchanting, which is what makes me come back to Doya. Even when packed, the night vibes outside are magical, with twinkling lights and lush plants setting the scene.
Service is speedy, but we had a hilarious episode with a clumsy waiter who turned our table into a water park for my phone--twice!
In summary, Doya might not take the crown as the best Mediterranean restaurant, but it has its charm. The overall positive impression, combined with the atmosphere, ensures that I'll be returning for more in the future.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 18, 2024
The best place. Period.
End of review.
Jk. But seriously, obsessed with everything on the menu. I've come back so many times I should be a local by now. I bring all my girlfriends and it has officially become my date night spot with my Fiance. We love coming here because of the food, service and ambience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
