District Donuts Sliders Brew

With a quoted wait of 1 hour at Elvie's next door, we made great use of our time with a pre-brunch snack from DDSB. Here's my thoughts on what we sampled:

Banana Pudding Donut - I snagged one of the last two, and it's clear why these were almost sold out: the rich pudding filling coupled with crumbled Nilla wafers translated well to a donut format, surrounded by light, fluffy dough. Get there early if you want to get one!
S'mores Donut - This donut delivered on its name, but wasn't quite as successful as the former; the filling was lacking and the marshmallow topping was hard to divide. I'd recommend a different one unless you're craving this flavor.
Brown Butter Drop - Basically a donut pretending to be a meatball (or is it the other way around)? I liked its mild sweetness and vaguely Christmas-y spice, but definitely a more niche option.
Cheese Fries - You can never go wrong with waffle fries fried fresh; they packaged the jalapeños and cheese sauce separately, but feel free to dip as you go or mix it all together to start. Delicious, but do be warned that the cheese will start to coagulate if it cools, so chow down quickly!
Vietnamese Iced Coffee - I had high expectations, but I would've preferred just a bit more strength and sweetness out of this anticipated caffeine bomb. Asking for an extra shot of espresso might help.

Can I please get on my soapbox to scream? GO TO THIS (EXPLICATIVE) SPOT like YESTERDAY! New Orleans, what?! District Donuts is GIVING! I'm an elder millennial so, here's the phrase my kids said, "This is Bussin' AF, Dad!".

Had I just gotten a donut, this place would be 5 stars, but I went for the chicken biscuit so I have to knock a star off because the chicken was just ok. The biscuit, however, stands on its own as delicious. It kind of tastes like a Panera cinnamon crunch bagel turned biscuit. So delicious!

The donut however was beyond good. The perfect blend of king cake yumminess and a single sized serving to boot. I absolutely recommend trying that one.

The lavender latte was also tasty so overall, this place is worth a return visit.

Staff was friendly when I placed my order so no complaints there. As I sat enjoying the sunshine, they were preparing my food fresh. You can't complain about the wait time when the food comes out piping hot. I ordered the pork bell and chicken sliders with an order of waffle fries and an Arnold Palmer.

The Arnold Palmer was one of the best I've ever had and it contained unsweet tea. That lemonade is the best in town. The slider buns are made with love. I'm a bread fanatic so it was right up my alley. Those waffle fries make you forget all about Chick-fil-A. However, I made a mistake in the order I ate the sandwiches. I should have tried the chicken sandwich first. I did not like the pork belly at all. The toppings were good but the pork itself just was not to my liking. It distorted the taste of the chicken sandwich some. I enjoyed the toppings on it as well and I think the chicken was good but it was hard to get the taste of the pork out of my mouth.

Will go back to give the chicken slider another chance.

This is by far one of the best chicken sandwich I have ever eaten. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. I will be coming back for more.

Incredible breakfast sandwiches and donuts! Especially the hot chicken and honey butter french toast biscuit. I mean, wow... one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches of all time. Absolutely bursting with flavor, your tastebuds and belly will thank you.

Didn't try the coffee, smelled good though.

On the donut side, the chain needs to craft and perfect cronuts and add them to the menu. Donuts we had were great (albeit slightly overpriced) but way tasty.

I will keep my eye out for District Donut chain locations to satisfy my now ever present craving for hot chicken and honey butter french toast biscuits!

This was my favorite breakfast stop (I went 2 days in a row!!) I really wanted to try their lunch but we were only in town 2 full days and I had other finds I wanted to try. First day I got a scrambled egg and cheese on the normal biscuit (my favorite!! I didn't even save my husband a bite!!) and the next day same but subbed a French toast biscuit. That biscuit was good but didn't hit the spot like other one. My husband had the hot chicken on French toast and he really liked that. He said the miso bacon was just ok. I also got him a bacon, egg and cheese on a plain biscuit and he said he liked it but he really liked the French toast biscuit and thought it would be even better with that.

First tried District Donuts in NOLA and were pleasantly surprised to see that Jackson also had one. We stopped in here two years ago when it was a different donut shop but this shop still has a good donut selection. Our order included the Chicken Breakfast Biscuit (my fav) + the Miso Praline Bacon Biscuit (a little sweet in my opinion). Could definitely keep coming back with their rotating flavors of donuts

Came here with my friend and we both tried the infamous Hot Chicken & Honey Butter Biscuit. It came out looking beautiful, unfortunately the taste didn't meet my expectations.

I loved the concept, just hated that there was more crisp to the chicken than actual meat. Plus, the biscuit (although delicious) was very hard. I can tell it would've been good if it wasn't burnt lol

Nevertheless, the vibes are really nice so I'll be back to try them again. I've heard great things about the cinnamon roll!
