    Ask the Community

    • Q:

What studio number would you request?

      A:

The studio rooms are all about the same, but if you are looking to be closer to the pool, I'd request that. If you are staying in the inn, the ocean view rooms cannot be beat!

My husband and I celebrated our ten year anniversary here. The staff was all very attentive and kind. The rooms and hotel was very clean. Our room was on the 4th floor and the view was spectacular. We had an unobstructed ocean view. We could hang out on our porch and look at out at the waves. And they were loud! So we could be in our room with the door open and listen to them--amazing!

My boyfriend and I came for a 1-night getaway the night before the pool, mini golf course and other outdoor amenities closed for refurbishment. It was pouring rain when we arrived at 10:30am but the room was ready straight away which was so nice. We grabbed a quick lunch at the poolside marketplace and listened to the DJ play at the pool (yes there were still people swimming and laying out even though it was raining).
The resort is so small in the best way - we were able to pop back to our studio almost every hour if we needed to grab a beverage or make an outfit change (the weather went from rain to sun to clouds and breeze). Shoutout to the rental department, they didn't charge for putt-putt or other trivial activities; I imagine because it was such a dreary day.
The Green Cabin Lounge opened at 5pm for light bites and trivia. The Wind and Waves grills requires reservations so we made a 7:30pm dinner reservation and were actually too full from the appetizers and Dole Whip from earlier to order our own entrees. My one regret from the trip is filling up on snacks because the bacon crusted salmon over creamy gnocchi looked so good! At 8:30 we proceeded to the campfire where there was a singalong and s'mores. Brendan and Connor were great at leading the songs and making everyone feel like a kid. There was a good mix of families with children and adults that came as couples/groups. I thought it was a perfect Christmas gift to my partner!
The Wind and Waves grill offers breakfast as well and I got the key lime stuffed waffles which were top notch (bacon was very thin though)

I've been here many times, but I've never written a review. We just got back from a lovely weekend at Disney's Vero Beach Resort, and it is as relaxing and tranquil as the pictures make it out to be.

The staff is friendly and welcoming, from the guard, to the front desk, to housekeeping and beyond. The pool is immaculate, the beach and amenities are wonderful. Being directly on the ocean can't be beat.

The only issue we really had is that the inner shower curtain is fabric instead of plastic, and the water goes right through it like it isn't even there, quickly turning the bathroom into the Everglades. We spent way to much time mopping up water with towels we didn't have to spare. Even with the terrible water pressure, and extra towels on the floor, it was still a swamp after three showers.

The on-site restaurant, Wind and Waves Grill is really good as well. Some highlights, the nightly pizza special, the French onion soup, the bread pudding, and that breakfast burrito. It's so good. The servers are really nice here as well.

But the hidden gem may be the muffins at the Wind and Wave Market next door. Jesus man, those muffins are so good. We went back 3-4 times over the weekend for more muffins. Blueberry, pumpkin, apple, whatever they have, just try them. Kudos to the bakers, because you make excellent, better than homemade, fresh muffins. Great job!

I've been visiting this resort with my family since the very first summer that it was open. And while I'm sure that nostalgia plays a role in my love for Disney's Vero Beach, I truly think that it's genuinely a tranquil, relaxing, and well-run resort overall. The architecture, winding paths, rocking chairs, and lush vegetation all contribute to a feeling of calm and relaxation. Of course, the crashing waves that can be heard everyone on the grounds help as well.

The resort offers private beach access, a pool with water slide and kids area, mini golf, a spa, fitness center, and kids activities. A daily planner includes a host of activities from campfire to yoga to outdoor movies to trivia and more.

Of course, you also have your bars, quick service food, and a sit down restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Although pricey, I thought the food options were quite good.

Getting to Vero Beach is the only sticking point. You really must have or rent a car. But, on the positive side, having a car will allow you to leave property and enjoy some local restaurants and shops, should you want.

Overall, I can't recommend this resort highly enough.!

We stayed here 2 weeks ago and it was my and my daughter's first time. We fell in love because we love the beach and we are Disney fans. The hotel is supper clean and the staff is so polite. They have all kinds of water sports and pool activities, games, hammocks all around the resort with a beautiful
Beach view and restaurants. Yes they have dole whip! That made us very happy.

Checking in was quick and easy and the front desk team was very friendly and helpful and she gave me a first time button pin since I never been before the only thing is that the room wasn't ready until 3:30pm but I was able to hang out at the pool and beach until the room was ready! The dinner at the waves was good I had the bone in pork chop and egg and porky belly appetizer both was delicious! Connor and Tyler at the campfire was entertaining and helping us with making s'mores! The room I had was nice and clean and spacious with a balcony! I love this Disney resort on the beach it was a relaxing stay!

I have been coming here for years, and the biggest thing for me is I wish I could come more often. But, at a 550 mile plus drive from home, a weekend getaway would make it almost spending more time in the car than at the resort. Is it worth it? I would say so- but, I am not the spring chicken I used to be. And sure, I could fly down there and rent a car, but I feel the less I go, the more I yearn for a return (if that makes sense).

I haven't been to many beaches in Florida (Miami, Cocoa, St Augustine area, and if you count Key West), but this place hands down tops my list. When I go, it doesnt seem crowded and it just has a different vibe. Sure, there isn't much to do (I know the Dodgers used to have Spring Training around the corner), unless you like citrus, and sunbathing- but I think thats the point- to help unwind. I mean, if you want bigger, sure you can go north to the space center or south to Miami/Lauderdale or west to Orlando/Disney (all within a 2 hour drive). But, this is a happy place for me, and brings back great memories.

When arriving, you are greeted by the usually friendly security. I always love parking and going into the main hall (like the classic Disney hotel setup with the multistory entry). At Christmas, it is extra magical with the trees, the lighting, and the other extra decor. Checking in I usually never have a problem either. Over the years, I have stayed in a deluxe studio, a 1 br villa, and a 2 br villa. They also offer 3 br cottages, and "inn rooms" (comparable to a studio) as well. The "inn" is the main building, and the villas are housed in separate buildings on the property.

For my most recent visit, I had gotten a 1br villa for a night. While the exteriors all looked the same (although refreshed), I was absolutely shocked at how different the insides looked (it had been 8ish years since my last visit). The bathroom was the nicest Disney bathroom I had seen, along with a soaking tub (not sure if I could fit in it though- didn't try). The TVs looked like they doubled in size (I think the kitchen TV was a 65 or 70 in), and all new furniture for sure. The deck, provided me a relaxing view as well.

I also like that they do a great job with blackout curtains here, to help with turtle conservation as well (eliminating light to the outside helps the turtles get where they need to go- back to the ocean) during season for them.

The villas all come with fully equipped kitchens and washers/dryers as well, which I always appreciate (I usually try to get a villa over a studio for that reason, however the studios are still just as comfortable and sleep the same amount of people).

In terms of the food and drink, it has been years so I won't comment, but since it is Disney, I trust it is decent stuff. Also, the pool is always a fun place to hang out, and they have mini golf as well. When you check in, they always give you a calendar of things to do and when- I suggest you check it out to make the most out of your visit! Solo travelers can enjoy themselves, I promise! Did I mention the private beach? I love catching a sunrise here, one of the only times I will wake up that early (or a doctors appt, bleh). They really do bring the Disney magic here, I promise!

For pricing, I am sure it is not cheap (which may bring some people grief and I truly understand). If you know someone who is a Disney Vacation Club member and is nice enough to let you burn some of their points, I would suggest that in a heartbeat!

      Ready for Christmas!

Great scenery and access to the beach! There are shaded areas/ tents available to rent (Disney of course) but a lot of folks bring their own items. There's a bar and a small market poolside to grab a quick bite. At the time of this review you can purchase a refillable cup for $25, which can be used for sodas, coffee, etc. Be careful of turtle nest sites (marked) particularly if you have young children.

The hotel is a bit dated but still quite nice with several dining options (convenience at a price and nothing special)

You may arrive during "no-see-em" season which are
Tiny bugs that are very hard to see and will bite you leaving you feeling itchy and irritated- Disney provides some spray but feel free bring your own just in case-

Staff was very friendly and responsive to any inquiries and requests we had-

The only downside to our stay is the noise- the doors are very heavy and the closures don't seem to do their job very well as all the doors in our hallway would slam shut. Very disruptive in the middle of the night. Having loud guest that shout and scream is to be expected with a family resort but they should really try to contain the noise factor from doors and internal plumbing.

Our experience here was very relaxing and we even used the "hidden" gym which looked like a time capsule from the late 80's /early 90's. Hopefully the slamming of doors in the middle of the night will not bother you!

The hotel is set up very nicely. It has many rooms but still feels intimate. The food at the resort is alright, mid at best. Not bad; not great.

The pool and access to the beach are one of the perks! Lots of areas for kids to play. The beach access is also great. Would highly recommend an ocean view room, it was super worth it.

Loved the extra little perks in the rooms too from the dish soap, scrubber, to the nice coffee.

One of the best parts was the level of cleanliness. The rooms were super clean the hotel, overall, was well kept.

Staff friendliness was outstanding. Everyone greeted us or acknowledged us with a smile or were ready to assist. They even accommodated us with keeping things in the freezer. Great resort, will return!

We stayed here for a weekend with family. As soon as we arrived we had that super friendly, attentive Disney service. From checking in, to getting to the parking area, bar, pool, restaurant, everyone so polite, professional and nice.

Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but we were allowed to enjoy all the amenities immediately. The pool had a DJ during the day, playing music, announcing birthdays, retirements, etc. They had dance contests, water slide contests, they have mini golf, and other games.

The bar is right by the pool, and a quick snack/ food bar is right next door.

The restaurant is just steps away, and open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beach, also just steps away, clean, but make sure to reserve your chairs with the hotel (for extra $) or bring your own.

The rooms were really nice, clean, comfortable and love the balcony each had. We got one of those family 2 bedroom with a kitchen suite. The bathrooms all had soaps, shampoos, towels, etc. The kitchen fully equipped with coffee machine, dishwasher, plates, utensils... Each room had a TV and the common area too. It also had a sofa bed and other pullout furniture, accomodationg up to 9-10ppl comfortably.

Nice weekend getaway, to unplug/ unwind.

      Lovely location.
I stayed here for a week with my Pandemic Pod. We were in one of the stand-alone cottages for most of the time and it was FAN. TAS. TIC. It was large, comfortable and clean. The cottage had 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 upper decks, 2 lower porches/patios, a full kitchen....it was indulgent!

Being able to safely get away with my framily (friend family...that is) was just what the doctor ordered. The beach area was cleaner than I had hoped for and easy to enjoy. The resort grounds were beautiful and felt safe, as you needed a key card to get back on the property from the beach. The staff followed and adhered to Covid safety measures and worked to make sure that all guests did as well.

The pool area could get crowded but, as long as visitors followed the rules (which not all of them did) and were seated by staff, didn't move chairs around, and just sat with their group, it wasn't bad.

The food and drink we got to-go from the on-site restaurant and bar and shops were very good. The bartenders were all absolutely fantastic and working extra hard, as they were doing double duty taking outdoor food orders and taking orders....they deserved every tip they got and then some.

Eb & Flo's was where you went for fun-time-accoutrements. Towels for the pool or beach, floaties for your kids, suffle board tools, mini golf clubs and balls, renting a bike...the bike was a lot of fun to get to ride up the Jungle Trail to the nature preserve nearby and get to explore! I wish I had done it more than once.

Across the street there is a nice short little trail and a pond to walk around and explore, as well as tennis and basketball courts.
This place really has just about everything. And anything we called and asked about was handled.
I would 100% stay here again.
