This place doesn't know what customer service is , they just left me on a street with no ID when almost all detoxes closed at that time 1am , keeping my bags with my clothes at there house telling me that I can't go and get my clothes tonight , and it's an issue with managers all the time almost all guys at the house complaining every day , the only Josh manager is a nice and cooperative person, so stay away from that unprofessionally treatment sober living house!!!

My brother live at Design for Recovery for about a year. I just wanted to take this time to write a review for this sober living home because I know it not only changed mine. I obviously wasn't the one living there, but I believe that Design for Recovery is responsible for fixing my relationship with my brother. When he moved into Design for Recovery, my brother and I weren't on speaking terms. We actually used to be really close. In college, we got drunk a lot together. We had fun and I never considered him to have a problem. After college, though, I got my act together, got a job, started to consider my future, and all that, But my brother stayed the same. He continued getting high and getting drunk while living in a dingy room in a house that made me feel safe whenever I cam to visit him. After a couple of years, things just seemed way worse. He seemed moody, looked badly groomed, and he no longer really talked about his plans of being a DJ. At least before he at least talked about what he wanted to do, even if all he did was drink. He also seemed angry, and after a few drunken fights (him drunk, me sober), I took a break from him and kept my distance. It was sad because I loved him and still felt close. At some point maybe a year later, he called me. He was living at Design for Recovery in West LA and wanted to apologize for how he'd treated me. I'd forgotten a lot of what he brought up. It meant a lot to me, but I was still cautious. Would he stay sober? We've rebuilt our relationship and it's better than it ever was, since it doesn't revolve around drinking. My brother is now a responsible, relaxed, and thoughtful person. He always was, deep down. But he's actually able to be himself now. I've also met some of his other friends from sober living, whom he's still in touch with. They all have something really special going on. And some of them have even crazier backgrounds than my brother. I don;t know what this sober living does, but whatever it is, it works.

This was the best sober living I've ever been to. It's all men. They go shopping in a timely fashion and house is clean because chores are done every day. It can get crowded there are as many as six people in a room. I enjoyed the company sober living can get boring. Most of the time did want to leave but after six months I'm glad I did it.
