I dread going to the DMV! Going to this office was so easy and seamless. Our transaction was picked up from where we had a glitch. They told us what to do didn't have to wait in other lines. Got new picture, got eye test and was issued temporary license right on the spot. The fastest and easiest experience ever. Thank you all so much.

My visit to this DMV was surprisingly quick, friendly, and pain-free. It's easy to complain about bureaucracy but these are people and they treated me like a person. In upstate NY that means with a dash of humor and candor. So rather than bitch about parking and paperwork, I thought I'd just be honest.

Following the route of others in one less start due to terrible parking in Troy, but otherwise, this is an awesome DMV. I live in Albany and will still purposefully go to this DMV. Everyone is really nice, you are steered toward a questions/info desk person who will make sure you have the right paperwork you need. This is the best DMV in the area.

DMV always gets a bum rap. But seriously, the Troy DMV isn't bad at all. I went there recently to renew and upgrade my driver's license to an enhanced license and the entire process, including eye test, document scanning and photo took less than 20 minutes. It would have been even shorter if there hadn't been a slight delay at the scanner.

The place was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Guess I'll have to find another government agency to complain about!

Got there before they opened and was 5th in line. Yes parking is limited. There were about 8-10 bays open but they don't have numbers or lights just yell next or wave you down. This particular day the camera scanner went down so they had to retake my picture 3x and rescan all of my documents 3x. It is not the employees fault but the system needs to be streamlined and more efficient. I also didn't like that my ss card was in plain view of other customers. They need to be careful and turn the cards over. The lines move quickly so make sure you have all your documents. I was there to get a new license and was in and out in 55 min with all the delays.

I'll take off a star for terrible parking but otherwise this is the best DMV that I've been too.

Quick easy lines, fast service and people who don't HATE their jobs and are friendly and helpful. What more can you ask for?

I went to Troy, NY DMV and had the best customer service ever, everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was there to change my Illinois license to a New York license everything was done in a matter of 20 minutes. The DMV was very clean and hardly no wait line.

This is consistently the best DMV I've ever been to. The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. They actually try to help by telling you the right forms and what they mean. Surprisingly great experience.
