I went to Dental Specialities today for an extraction. The receptionists are kind. The dental assistants are kind. But they don't pull teeth. Dr. Andrew Maron is a butcher! This was the most violent extraction I have every had. He didn't give me enough anesthesia. I felt every crack of the tooth. It took three people to hold me down. They tried to tell me it was pressure. It wasn't. It was pain. Please don't go to this doctor for an extraction. You will regret it.

I had an appointment I waited two months for and was meet with some . confusion when I came for my appointment. After being seen and developing an agreed treatment plan we scheduled the first appointment available which happened to be several weeks away.
Well I take time off from work for today's appointment and rearranging my schedule ;for the week to be informed once getting there that I didn't have an appointment. No treatment plan was placed in my chart, preapproval from my insurance company had not been done and my personal information was being shared by the receptionists at the front desk loud enough for everyone to hear. I get it mistakes are made but this is way people don't want to go to the dentist office and put off getting the services they need. You have to do better.

**in short, if you want to go to an office that SCAMS you, violates your HIPAA, and is overall just rude and stupid, this is the office for you!

If i could put a -5 I would. This is probably the most incompetent, scamming, most terrible office I have ever been to (and I am poor and on Medicaid, so there's been many bad ones). they tried to charge me $3,000 for collagen plugs to apparently "keep my nerves safe after surgery". after getting a second opinion at Columbia Dental Hospital, that was such a GRAND lie. They were very confused as to why i was told it was 3 grand for plugs, when they are normally included with every surgery AND they have nothing to do with nerves, only to control bleeding. There was a point in this appointment when 4 doctors were in the room listening to this in awe at the misconduct DSNY would have. It came to a point I called this office to fax my X-rays so i don't have to take them again, and so that the doctors know what they're looking at. This office tells me to email and I'll get a response within 2 days? Very confused because faxing X-rays or radiographs are a very simple task that takes 20-30 minutes at most. Especially when it was an emergency for me, they took their sweet time. It's been 3 weeks and I've yet to receive a response and whenever I call, the front desk people act stupid (which to their credit, act this VERY well) and don't know how to get a hold of a supervisor nor to fax me my X-rays. I hope this office burns down with everyone inside and maybe, maybe they'd get their karma at sabotaging poor people.

If i could leave ZEROOOO stars i would !!! This location is beyond unprofessional, they do not like to answer the phones and if they do their attitude is beyond disgusting.. I've been calling for days at different hours because I'm getting my wisdom teeth extracted and i wanted to ask a few questions. What questions could i ask when they never answer i had to go in person for them to say they didn't open till 11 but i called way after 11 i had starved myself all day for my appointment because i am getting all four of my wisdom teeth removed and im going under anesthesia and I almost passed out from the hunger and no one could answer a phone to let me know if they were open instead of starving myself for no reason .. but regardless super unprofessional even when going in person they have disgusting attitudes the nurses and front desk receptionist are horrible !!! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE CAUSE THIS SPOT IS HORRIBLE !!! I WOULD NEVER AND COULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION AT ALL !!!

The reason I gave it a one is because there was not a zero and I had to put down a number. Let me just start by saying the staff is very unprofessional and unwilling to help after my dental procedure in which I paid $1,600 for a implant 5 days later I was still in a lot of pain so I called the office asking if I can speak with the doctor or someone on what should I do since it was already 5 days and I felt I was not getting better. The gentleman on the line stated that the oral surgeon was not there to call back Wednesday and this was on Monday I was calling. I was confused about why would he say that I also asked him if I can speak with anyone oncall or another dentist because I was afraid I might be developing a infection. He said he couldn't because they didn't have my chart which was not true because they were still using paper charts at the office. He also told me if I thought he was a magician and make my dentist appear in which that was very unprofessional. I have worked in the medical field for years and never heard anything like this also when a patient calls with a valid chief complaint your answer should not be if you want them to do magic and get the doctor. If there is a nurse/ dentist or someone that can assist on the matter to properly guide the patient then it should have been addressed not blow me off and tell me if I wantEd him to do magic and get the doctor.

I had a appointment I waited two months for. I get there, the two receptionists were rude from the beginning. I can see they were a little busy, but I am a patient trying to register for my appointment. I was spoken to -as if I am disturbing them. After she made sure I can pay the $15 dollar "consultation fee" which is BS because, there was no consultation, my appointment had been previously been set up. No need for a discussion, no need for a consultation. They got me for my hard money. I was told to "have a seat" as if I am a child. I kept my cool. Fast forward. I am in the chair, the doctor took about a half an hour to come in. He spoke fast to explain the procedure, too fast to grasp all of it. Before I knew it, he was standing beside me, and without warning, he was about to jab the needle in my mouth. I stopped him. "Let me know when". He patronized me. 4 needles in the mouth is painful. He didn't think so. Mouth gapped open, and dentist digging in my mouth, the assistant comes in to collect payment in my vulnerable state. In the same position, I had to blindly reach for my wallet, touch and find - ..pass it to her (extremely unprofessional) that could have been taken care of within the half hour I waited. Same position, she bought my credit card back to me with a smile. There were two assistants, one worse than the other. One got upset with me and spoke rudely because she was inexperienced and became frustrated when she couldn't get the x-ray to work correctly. She had to get the assistant that took the money. (Although, she was the nicer one) As far as my experience as a whole, it was a serious disappointment. I would not recommend this place to friends and family because we will not be friends or family anymore.
Which brings me to what urged me to post a review, I normally don't. But I had to tell somebody. I was anxious to leave. I was not given a receipt. My insurance company requested it two months later. I called and asked for it to be emailed, as I am on the phone, the receptionist takes the info she needs, but she was very confused, I had to explain to her -a couple of times -we are in 2021, she said "it must be two of me" Unbelievable! After my last attempt to bring her into the new year, she got on track. She said, "ok, I just printed it, I'm sending it now" I continued to monitor my email. Two hours later, no receipt. I call back, I begin to explain. Apparently, the same receptionist answers. She cuts me off as I'm speaking. She states "we are busy, I told you, I will print it and send it" I responded, "that's not what you said " she said, "well, I didn't get a chance, we are three people behind. I can't understand the reason to lie and then make an excuse to keep me waiting. Stating that, just shows your incompetence and lack of professionalism. It takes a special kind of person to work with patients or people for that matter this was the wrong career choice. Unfortunately, there are only two of these specialists in NY. I deeply hope I never have to suffer this place ever, ever, ever again. By the way, I'm still waiting on my receipt....
