Good tea, seemed a bit much for the amount of iced tea I purchased, but still good. I suppose that's the cost of downtown LA and Little Tokyo nowadays.
Good ambiance and seating.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chad B.Los Angeles, CA51166Apr 18, 2021
So far, the best coffee in LA!
The cold brew is a must try, its the best cold brew I think ive ever had. No need sugar or cream... Perfect balance of strength and flavor (and there is a ton of flavors to find in this cup). I am dumbfounded by the previous reviewer that found it bitter, even with sugar in it. I guess if Starbucks if your thing, you may not like this place.
Wife ordered the mocha was delightfully richer in coco flavors and not loaded with sugar. Cant wait to come back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 322292557Jan 8, 2021
Was in the area and wanted a coffee. Decided to give them a try. Once I saw their menu I was having a hard time choosing but the barista was really nice and started offering suggestions. He recommended their seasonal drinks and it was delicious it was a pear latte. I don't remember exactly what it was called big it was delicious. I asked how often they changed their menu and he informed me that about every 3-6 months. I can't wait to go back and try their toasted marshmallow drink and the affogato.
They have a parking structure in the plaza it's located but you have to pay. You could always try to find meter parking in the area.
They are requiring masks and taking covid precautions.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 13, 2021
Been here many times and they never disappoint. I'm the type who drinks iced coffee even when it gets super cold in LA. My go-to is always the Kyoto Iced Coffee or the Black Mamba. The baristas are super friendly and are eager to answer question about the menu or their specials. The outdoor patio is small but its super inimate and perfect for studying, eating, or simply people watching.
I also bought their mug ($15) as I have two pugs at home and the quality is great! I've used and washed it many times and still looks good as new.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 10, 2020
Yelped for a new coffee shop around my work area and this one caught my attention. The lavender hot chocolate brought me here . So the first time they were out so I asked the barista what he recommended. He asked a couple of questions which led me to get the minty cubano and guys let me tell you that coffee was so good I have never ever had anything like this. This is the real deal. 2nd time I came early and got the lavender hot chocolate it was rich in chocolate and the toasted marshmallow was so cute .. price wise pricey for the lavender hot chocolate not to be filled up. But I can't complain my number 1 coffee shop.
Forgot about the Pastry's I tried the banana nut bread the 1st visit was really good. The 2nd visit I got the Strawberry Almond Croissant I was amazed very delicious and big.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 449237361Dec 31, 2020
My sister and I enjoy going to coffee shops. We love Starbucks but we also enjoy other coffee shops specially if they have cute decor and if their drinks sound appealing. Demitasse checks all those boxes. I have to say I was a little overwhelmed when looking at the menu, I didn't know what to order. The guy behind the counter was kind enough to help me decide. He asked me about the type of coffee I like to drink and then he recommended a latte. I don't remember what exactly the name of the latte was but it was good.
I would like to go back to try more of their drinks and also try some of their pastry items. Also the quote the cups have is super cute!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 12, 2020
This little coffee house in Little Tokyo presents with big flavor.
We wanted to try something new on our trip to LA and it was an unusually warm winter day.
We ordered the Tokyo cold brew and the presentation alone wow'ed me. Liquid sweeter was available at the bar. The spaces to sit here were small yet cozy and the music fit the mood.
We had time to kill prior to dinner, dessert and a play so we started with coffee. It was the best way to begin a fabulous evening, everything within a mile to walk and/or drive.
This is a place where I may order the exact same thing next time, because I loved it so much...

My 2nd visit here & first time purchasing coffee. The first time, the baristas were super friendly on a weekday and explained the menu very well! So much, that I wanted to come back and try the coffee. However, Saturday afternoon's barista wasn't very friendly. I feel for you man, but working alone doesn't really mean you should give me less coffee with like 1 less ice cube & I didn't ask for a complicated order. The people behind me had a similar thought as well.
I asked about the Siphon Coffee, but I guess there were no Siphon's left. Therefore, we decided to get 2 Iced Kyoto Coffee's for $6.25 each. Ya'll crazy, but I really liked the coffee!
The Siphon contraption was really unique & the flavor of the Kyoto coffee had a slightly tangy & bitter taste and was super strong! I'll come back, but maybe not on a Saturday.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Dec 25, 2019
Cute little coffee shop located in Little Tokyo. I got a regular brewed coffee for $3.
The flavor is pretty good. It definitely tasted better than Starbucks coffee.
Will come back and try again if I am in the area.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 4, 2021
$12 for two cups of coffee? What a waste. Took a spontaneous trip out to LA and while we were there we were on the hunt for a hipster cafe and stumbled upon Demitasse. 1000+ reviews with 4 stars, say no more we are going! We found free street parking since it was a holiday and perfect enough it was right across from the cafe. During the pandemic they only allow two people in at once with hand sanitizer on deck which is nice.
When we walked in there was only one person working, he said he would be right with us while he was talking to someone else. Many minutes later, he finally asks for our order. We ordered the Kyoto ice coffee, supposedly they would ask if you want cream and sugar during checkout but that was done at the end when everything was ready to go. Felt bad if he needed to put creamer in so just added sugar, which he kindly added. We also ordered the iced latte (they don't have vanilla but said there was something similar so gave that a try.)
Service was not great , it took very long for our order to be taken and when it was ready no call out or anything so you have to really watch the pick up station. Secondly, their coffee I could do without. Should have opted for Starbucks across the street. (Sorry not sorry) we ended up throwing the Kyoto Iced Coffee out because it was just too bitter and the iced latte had to be watered down before we could finish, it just had a funky after taste that was not enjoyable.Helpful 16Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - Jul 30, 2019
After eating a quick lunch, my friend and I decided to grab coffee to combat food coma. Demitasse was conveniently located in the plaza, so we stopped by. The ambiance is relaxing with lots of sun shining thru the windows! Staff were friendly and eager to provide recs.
I ordered a cold brew with oat milk and was glad they carried Oatly (my favorite brand). The milk substitute did a good job neutralizing the strong coffee flavor and also enhancing the overall taste.
Overall, I was impressed with the service and drinks, and would definitely come back again when in Little Tokyo! Barista was also super efficient that he was already making our drinks just as we were about to pay.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
