Awesomeness. Have cravings for this place every other day ... Classic Greek salad, gyros, it's all exceptional. My favorite salad is made here- Classic Greek ( with extra chicken and dressing). The family loves the Gyros, warm, soft pita and all he sides . Chicken kabobs are delicious. You cannot go wrong for Greek with a California touch .

We ordered takeout from Daphne's the other day. I had never tried this location and it had been a while since going to another Daphne's restaurant. Reasonably good experience.
Our order consisted of a Gyro Bowl, Calamari, and a Classic Pita Gyros with Fries. The gyro meat was delicious in both the bowel and the classic. The Pita was fresh and tasty. However, the fries were soggy (under cooked) and the portion of calamari was small. The calamari were properly prepared and tasted good, just not enough ..... disappointing.
Prices were reasonable.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Business owner information

Doug, thank you for the 3 star review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your meal. I will follow up with your privately to gather more information on the French fires and calamari.

Let me start off by saying that this 3 for Daphne's in Roseville almost Rocklin is a strong 3 stars.
Daphne's appears to be a California chain of Greek(-American) restaurants which slot into streets with lengthy storefronts or in strip malls. I believe the first one at which I ate was at Douglas and Sierra College Blvds. in Roseville, and it's good to see that that one is still there.
The reason I'm giving them 3 stars is because it seems like they've done some musical chairs with how combo platters are configured and with their branding compared to when I first made their acquaintance, even eating at various Daphne's in SoCal back in the day. Perhaps it was that I liked the concept, branding, combinations, and prices more at that time.
Take note that Daphne's is still good. I find it hard to complain about reasonably priced platters of Greek food. At this visit, the service was expedient, the acknowledgement by the apparent manager was appreciated, the food was good, the price was fair, and the restaurant was clean.
So, here, the biggest question might be whether you want to eat at a Daphne's near a big Costco in cookie cutter shopping center or one in a more nicely finished shopping center with a Safeway along the Douglas Blvd. strip in Roseville with professional offices and financial institutions. (More so for humor and abstraction than politics, I would occasionally visualize that there could be a bespectacled Sarah Palin-alike in one of those offices on Douglas Blvd. coming into the waiting area to offer a bottle of cold water, and a smile, if the wait for your mortgage application appointment was taking too long.)
Daphne's is a fairly solid eatery where you order at the counter and the food is brought out to your table. I liked my Greek platter. However, I've liked Greek platters I've had more at both yesteryear's Daphne's and at other indie Greek tavernas. Try it and see what you think.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Karen G.Rocklin, CA104127Jul 7, 2021
Good place to stop in and get quick bite to eat. Food was good. Expected more of a restaurant atmosphere, but my son and I went there during the shutdown. No soda fountain available; and everything was ala Carte, which adds up quickly! $$. Next time I'll do takeout, & get the gyro. More bang for my buck!
This place could be a little bit cleaner, IMO.

The food is at best mediocre when it is made correctly. I've ordered delivery several times and they always "forget" items in my order which would be okay once but not every single time. The person packaging for food delivery needs to open their eyes and pay attention and stop ripping the customer off
Update: Tried it again tonight. Mistake. Absolutely awful. Gyro was missing sauce and completely dried out. Hummus bowl with cucumber tomato salad had four pieces of tomato and no cucumber. Poor customer service too.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello Laura,
I will reach out to you and gather more information regarding your recent visit.
12/10/19 hello Laura, I am sorry your expectations were not met last night with your meal. Your husband called and I spoke directly to him. Since you ordered from Doordash I asked him to call Doordash and receive a credit. We want our guests to have a great experience at Daphne’s.Feb 14, 2019Previous reviewThe food is pretty good when it is made correctly. Drove to DAPHNE's Sunday and found it had gone out of business. Very sad news. There is a location in Roseville, however, I hope it thrives, and another location crips up nearby. Real loss to the area for folks who enjoyed not only Greek fare, but fresh-cooked healthy and delicious food.

I ordered two meals to go. They put no Tzatziki sauce on the gyro or with the other meal I ordered. That's the ENTIRE point of Greek food. I'm really irritated right now. I'm also not driving another 15 minutes just to get my damn sauce. I'm pretty appalled right now, that is literally my favorite part of the meal.
I will not be coming back to this location. I will go the the Daphne's on Douglas in Roseville. It wasn't even that busy so i'm not sure how they forgot the sauce...
The chicken was also incredibly dry and overcooked. Don't recommend coming here. If you do make sure you check all your food to go and make sure they put the sauce..Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Liesl,
I am so sorry you did not get your Tzatziki in your to go orders. I wish you would have called the restaurant instead of being so upset because we work really hard to make each guest happy and would have made things right for you. I will be sure to work with my staff not to forget items in to go orders and it is very important. - Dawn C.Roseville, CA1510Mar 17, 2021Updated review
After our last visit, I left a review and was immediately contacted by the owner of Daphne's. I told her we would go back and give it another try. Daphne's is one of my favorite places and has been since it opened.
Giving it a second chance proved to be well worthwhile. We visited the restaurant on 2/28/2021 and it was back to where it had always been. There was a bad day and that was addressed and resulted in a great visit. We will go back many times over in the future.
I always feel like I am eating a great healthy meal when I eat there. Thank you to the owner for addressing the issues immediately that resulted in the improvements. This is what customer service is all about! Listening to the customer and taking action with noticeable improvement!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello Dawn,
Thank you Dawn for giving us another chance to make your experience at Daphne’s an amazing one. We strive to make each of our guest’s experience filled with great healthy food and superior customer service. We look forward to seeing you again soon!Jan 31, 2021Previous reviewI have been enjoying the food at this location for many years. One of my absolute favorites. Today, worst food experience ever. Hummus was dry, chicken in my pita was dry. Tahini had a different taste. I am very disappointed and will not be back after today. I had noticed the quality going down over the past few months, today proved it.

I debated long and hard about whether to take the time to review this establishment... my wife influenced me to go ahead and write a quick synopsis of our recent visit.
We walked in to an empty restaurant one hour before closing on a Monday evening. The crew was pre-closing, which of course is a good use of their time. It's important, however, to remember that customers could show up during open hours. I think they may have forgotten that.
Two additional parties came in as we were ordering our dinner. Let me start by saying, the portion sizes are minuscule for the amount charged. One of my kids ordered pita chips. There were about 12 little pieces of pita on a bread plate for $2.99. Yikes! No hummus or anything with it either! One of the other kids had a cup of soup and that was fine.
My adult son ordered the gyro dinner plate and was okay with what he got. My wife and I both ordered pita sandwiches with gyro. There was such a small amount of meat we could hardly taste it. To make matters worse, the food came out in stages about 5-10 minutes apart. First soup. Then pita chips. Then dinner plate. Lastly, the sandwiches; half an hour after ordering!
The people who came in after us received there meals before us! I was quite disappointed! Next time I want Mediterranean I am heading down the street to the Anatolian Table!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Justin G.Roseville, CA6694Jan 23, 2019
First visit and ordered the Gyro Fries, which are $7.99. Upon getting home and opening up the box there were about 20 fries and 4 smallish pieces of gyro. Really? For $8? That's it?
Absolutely no value - especially when you can stop by anywhere else and for the same price get a box full of carne asada fries or chili cheese fries. There's no reason to be stingy.
I was initially curious to try out one of their plates on a future visit (they run almost $10) but after this experience I'm concerned that that would be a poor value as well.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Justin,
I am sorry to hear your order was not what you expected. I will reach out to you privately and gather more information. - Melissa M.Rocklin, CA109227Mar 4, 2019
UPDATE: Full on vomiting and diarrhea. I left a message for the restaurant manager (no call back) and filed a complaint with the health department. This is the only thing I had eaten in 24 hours and no one in my family is sick.
When I left a message with the cashier, I asked if anyone else had called to complain and she said "not today".
******************************************
The chicken portion was small and overcooked, tasted reheated. The tomatoes and cucumber were mushy like they were overripe or they were frozen and thawed. And I'm not kidding 3 hours later, nausea and cramping.
to expand, I used to love Daphne's and their healthy options but since they changed ownership I regret going there. Seriously. Never going back this time.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello Melissa,
Sorry for the delay getting back to you as I was researching your concern and then received an unannounced visit from the Placer County Health inspector today regarding your phone complaint to them yesterday. Roberto, from the health department did a thorough inspection of our restaurant and we received a pass score and in compliance. The restaurant and the health department have not receive any other complaints. Our goal is to always provide and comply with all food safety practices. If you would like to see the inspection report please let me know. Also, the report will be uploaded onto the Placer county website in the next few days.
